FA Board deems 2024-25 Season over
      Further penalties enforced, Fulham relegated
by Mark Schwarzer last updated 15 May 2025

Dirty teams make for dirty results - three iconic teams relegated due to match fixing, etc.

In what will forever be deemed as the worst Premiership season ever, the FA Committee has come to conclude the 2024 season as it stands, 14 games short due to "inactivity" and "staggering investigations".

"It is just too long now.", started FA board member, Ray Lewington, "We have to get matches in, and with all the investigation into various clubs, especially Fulham FC, we regret to inform the Premiere League followers: the 2025 Season is Over."

      Incredible.

Manchester United has won the title with goal differential - and the following teams have been dropped to the Npower Championship:

Fulham (match fixing, questionable player bonuses)
      West Bromwich Albion (match fixing)
      Cardiff City (match fixing)

In all of my years part of the Premiership, I have never seen anything like this. This year 2024 season will be forever known, as it is starting to catch fire, as "Twenty-Twenty Fail."

I really can't believe it - thanks to the idiotic clubs, drop them to Division 2!

      Hurley Verizas at 5:58 am
Just a joke. Man Yoo win the title just like that. Fergie wouldn't even accept it.

      Alexander Matteo at 5:59 am
I'm not moving. We are going to be fine.

      Christopher Dean at 5:59 am
This is just...a joke right? Please, God.

      NPower Committee at 6:00 am
We don't want 'em, yeah - take the lot to the SPL for all we care.

      Feelder Apaia at 6:01 am
Wish we had some more info on how those three clubs are the main culprits. Surely there must be more. $%^&!!

        The State of things
        Clarification is needed

Editor Notes - (Johnson Peoples) - From what I have found out, Fulham were stricken with the penalties based on their recent transfers (names undisclosed) that includes 'questionable' player bonuses that enticed the clubs to do businesss with the Cottagers in the first place. That is all I know for now.

As for Matteo; he is staying - not even receiving a paycheck after all this. I can tell you, he is making a statement with the Fulham Board needs to reconsider their positions at Craven Cottage. I can't speak too much about it, but it also appears Matteo is thinking about offering a bid for the club itself.

While Lam may be well off financially, it's hard to imagine Fulham board members will relinquish their seats so easily.

The next season 2025-26 will be starting in less than a month, and will feature Fulham in the Npower Champoinship.

Manager Danny Murphy has been sacked, and in his place former referee Howard Webb has taken reigns over the Cottagers. Let's hope with his history of discipline, Webb can instill his practices at a club that surely needs it.

          Time for Change
Lam Matteo financial push, relinquishes board members to step down

Lam Matteo has been officially named the Hero of Craven Cottage.

The 33-year old did not receive any wages for the 2024 season, but has made plenty from living in Milan and receiving bonuses as a player (even if it was just a year). Furthermore, Matteo has secured two sponsorships from Nike and Swedish market giants, Ericsson telecom.

"He's a hero," says Fulham supporter John Fitz, "He didn't take any pay last season, and he scored 30 goals for us; now he's thrown out the filth - we will be back in the Prem surely."

Some supporters have not quite agreed with the overtaking: "I understand the notion Matteo is trying to take over the club he's been part of for so long," says shoe salesman, Fila Fubu, "But he has no experience in the front office - let alone hiring anyone that could do the job".

Since Matteo is still an official player, he cannot be the owner of Fulham FC - but could attempt the role of Player/Manager if he chooses.

As a result, there is a vacancy in the owner's seat, but according to Matteo, "The seat will be filled soon".

          Comments:

Jer219 says: "If he gets us back to the Prem, that is all I care about."

McB920Lane says: "I think this is fantastic. Matteo has always put Fulham first. He knows what the fans want. I can see us not only getting promoted, but even winning the Prem with a man like this."

1234Fail says: "He can't screw up any further than the match fixing idiots did. So just do the right thing, Matteo, and you will be fine!"

42FortyTwo says: "Matteo is already 33!?"

Fulham is at KC Stadium, as visitors to Hull City. My bad :/

It was not Matteo who grabbed the headlines, but new arrival Tiago Cintra for the Tigers.

In truth, I simulated a ML for 4 years. Stayed up in the Prem until the last year - which also allowed a decent amount of players to retire accurately. I thought for sure if I relegated Fulham (not intentionally as this was simulated) it'd be Game Over. I loved that I could still be in charge despite being relegated - that I decided to just roll with it.

Nice prediction. At this rate - definitely possible, if everyone stays healthy. Last game was suspect defending too, Leeds left him wide open on two of the three goals.
