Accused clubs admit fault
Fulham prime suspect, receives worst sanction
by Mark Schwarzer last updated 3 March 2025

UEFA football is over for Fulham Football Club, as they were heavily sanctioned for their part in match fixing/bribing scandals during the 2024 season. Even though the details were not revealed, several rumors regarding members of the club's board have surfaced.
As a result, the Cottagers have been removed from the UEFA Europa league, and the worst of it, is the surprising 20-point deduction of the club's current 27-points. The club has also been fined a significant amount, the figure has been undisclosed.
"We are at a loss for words today," states Fulham public representative Allistair Feeney, "The sanction will destroy this club's prospect of staying in the Premiership. We are going to lose players left and right."
Due to the heavy sanction, Fulham are expected to release their high salary players such as Lukaku, Rafael and most detrimental, the mid-season top scorer, Lam Matteo.
"I hate this," Matteo went on record saying after the news, "I love Fulham. I can't see myself playing for anyone else. But I have to think about my family now."
Fulham aside, the other two clubs Bolton and Sunderland have received notably "weaker" sanctions - each with 10 point deductions, and a $100k fine.

@ Kashi Herzard - If I knew the answer, I'd write it, yeah?

Well, wonder if Mark Schwarzer is going to tell us if the league is going to continue - get the cheaters out of the way and let's play!

Lam Matteo is going to retire now, he might as well - guy can't catch a break, controversy follows him everywhere - honestly.

Really sad to see this happen. Whites will prevail though - championship or not.
