Haha, you'll have to stay tuned to find out. By the way, you have a lot of series going. You're like a dynasty renaissance man. Bravo. I don't see how you keep up with all of it.

Odd, but I thought Alvin would head back to AC Milan at the end of the season, but it looks like he's still at Reggina on loan and scheduled to be that way all year. I hope its not a glitch, but I'll roll with it.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

I stood on my balcony watching the waves roll in as I sipped on a deep, flavorful Merlot. Reggio was having an effect on me. I loved my team, my condo, and my new lifestyle. The only thing that was missing was my friends and family. I hadn't spoken to Quinn since that fateful night a couple months ago, and the Valente's were long gone. I hadn't spoken to Theo in even longer than that, which meant I was out of his spotlight which was obviously a great thing. Oddly, my life had been pretty much turmoil free in the past couple months.

That wasn't to say I wasn't lonely. Family wasn't around very much right now. Al lead the Rockets to their first NBA finals since the Olajuwon years, so one could say my parents were very occupied at the moment. I still spoke to Alton occasionally when they let him make a phone call, but for the most part I was on my own in Italy.

There was a faint knock at my door. I put down my wine and opened the door. It was Leo.
"Hey Leo, how are..." my voice trailed off as I realized he was covered in blood holding his right arm. He shoved me out the way and quickly shut the door behind him.
        "Leo, your arm!" I squeaked.
"Alvin, its fine, its fine," he grunted as he looked through the peep hole on the door. It was then I realized he was holding a handgun.
"Whoa, man, what is going on?" I questioned.
He walked to the bathroom and grabbed a towel and held it tight to his arm.
"You need to go to the hospital." I said.
"Its just a graze," he said stoically. "Besides, they'll find me at a hospital. Sorry to bring you into this Alvin, but I had nowhere else to go," he said as he sat down on the bathroom floor, holding his arm with the towel.
"Hold on a sec," I said. I went to the room and came back with some of my ankle tape and helped secure the towel in place. "It's crude but hopefully that'll slow the bleeding. Now, tell me what happened?"
Leo sighed and finally let his guard down, "We were betrayed. It took a lot of back channel deals and legitimate business proposals, but he got each and every one of us to bite."
        "Who?" I asked.
"Theo, of course," he laughed with no humor in his voice. "The punk came to the Valente family with promises of wealth, and instead stabbed us in the back. He undercut us. The brats of the family staged a coup, financed by a rival, the Apuzzo family." He grimiced, whether in pain or because of the betrayal, I couldn't tell you.
"And Vinny? Is he okay?" I asked, terrified for my former roommate and friend.
"Vinny?" he said as he spit the name, "Who do you think led those silver spoon fed idiotas?"
        "What?!" I yelled in disbelief.
"Alvin, the entire senior Valente members are dead at their hands and now the Apuzzo familia and Vinny work exclusively for Theo now. That American has control over all shipment of his goods now, and my nephew is in his pocket," he moaned.
I sat in stunned silence for a long while. I looked at Leo on my bathroom floor, looking beaten and broken and suddenly a determination grew within me. "What do we do?" I said, meeting Leo's gaze with mine. It seemed to give him strength as he stood up, grunting as he held his arm.
"Call up your cop friend," he said. "Tell her she's got a new ally in the fight to take down Theodore Williams."

            Americans Abroad
            by Dave Seville

We continue our Americans Abroad series with Alvin Allen, striker for AC Milan who is currently on loan with Reggina in Serie B in Italy. The young striker has been a goal scoring machine in his first two seasons playing professional soccer, and the US national squad is in need of another scoring option other than Dempsey and Altidore.

"I love when the pressure is on," Allen said in a recent interview, "I feel like I really am at my best in crunch time, trying to find a way to get open for my teammates and put the ball in the back of the net." What is strange is that as we close in on the World Cup, there has been no word about Allen rejoining the team for their upcoming international friendlies. Rumors have circulated that Klinsmann may believe Allen is too raw and inexperienced for the World Cup, but his interviews in the past say otherwise. "I like the fire and passion Allen brings to the team," Klinsmann stated, "I hope he is a member of the US team for years to come." However, that doesn't give us any insight into whetehr he will make this years squad.

Serie B Reggina, where Allen is currently on loan, is not projected to do exceptionally well this season, but he has carried the load before. Last season Reggina finished in an unexpected 6th position, fighting for promotion the latter half of the season when Allen was received on loan. Americans everywhere are rooting for the striker to make the most of his time in the Italian leagues, whether with Reggina or the hgih profile AC Milan. That exceptional goal scoring ability will be needed when the United States heads to Rio for the World Cup.

Absolutely. I think its fun to have a story to go along with your dynasty. Its fun coming up with different ideas and ultimately putting pen to pad so to speak. Keep it up.

Re: Mr. Second Place: An Autobiographical Tale of Alvin Allen (Fifa 13)

I flew into O’Hare airport in Chicago, Illinois, one of the greatest summer cities in the world. The weather was a nice 85 degrees and sunny. Normally coming home would’ve filled me with happiness, but today, all I felt was nervous. I hopped a cab to my old condo, which was my home whenever I came stateside. I opened the door to find Quinn sitting on my couch, just like old times when she would sneak into my place. She was still as beautiful as always, but with a determination set into her jaw. This was all about business today. We could kiss and makeup later. We looked at each other in silence for a moment. Just as I was about to speak, the door opened behind me.
“Looks like you two got here early,” Leo said as he shut the door behind him. “Nice place Alvin. It’s distinctly American. Where’s the wine?”
“None here, Valente,” Quinn hissed. “Let’s talk about what you could do for our investigation. You are an accused murderer, money launderer, and shipper of illegal goods. I think we can skip the pleasantries.”
Leo laughed, “Ms. Adelina ‘Quinn’ La Monte, I presume?”
Quinn’s eyes grew big. “How did you?...”
Leo continued as he interrupted her, “Born to a Brazilian-American father and an Italian mother, you kept your mother’s surname as an honor to her when she died of cancer not long after you were born. Raised by a single father, you had a tough streak in you growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Top of your class at Colombia, you decided to make a difference in the world and work for the government. Not content to stand on the sideline, you used your street smarts and became one of the top undercover agents in the DEA, putting away the likes of the Hernadez gang and the Mississippi Tabernacle Church.” Leo smirked as he watched my and Quinn’s reaction. It was she who spoke first.
                  “There’s no way you could…”
Leo threw a file folder down on the desk. “I do my homework too, Adelina.”
“Ok, ok,” I interrupted, “So now that we all know each other, lets talk about why we are all really here.”
“Yes,” Quinn said as she composed herself. “Theo is amassing a huge network of criminal and non-criminal enterprises with the epicenter being Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.”
“I believe the goal is a massive over saturation of illegal product in the Rio area to establish a foothold in there with local criminal enterprises in preparation for the World Cup and Olympics.”
“That would make sense,” Leo said. “My sources within my own organization have told me that all transportation and logistics are being rerouted into the Western Hemisphere with the United States and Brazil being the biggest receivers of product. Granted, it will take a lot of time to move that much freight illegally without tipping off someone.”
“Then I will need you to get me access to how your family is moving this product,” Quinn said rather forcefully. “We can grant you immunity.”
“And give away generations of secrets to you and your government?” Leo yelled. “Never.”
“C’mon guys,” I piped up. “You need to start working together.”
Leo sighed, “Ok, I’ll give you a few of the shipments I know about from my sources and you’re agency will have to put together the pieces themselves.”
“Deal,” said Quinn. “I get what I want without you giving away all your secrets.”
“Ok, but I still don’t see how I fit into all of this,” I said sorrowfully.
“It’s easy, nipote,” Leo smiled. “You are the legitimate front to his illegal activities. The United States is looking for the next huge soccer star to propel them to greatness. Theo, and a lot of others I may add, are banking on that too."
                  “I don’t follow," I said as I looked confused.
Quinn spoke up, “You are young and attractive,” she blushed and continued, “which makes you marketable. Theo is presenting you to his business partners in Rio as the face of the World Cup and a future world star.”
She stood up and walked over to me and put her hand on my cheek, “You could be the next face of world soccer, and the huge boost in US soccer that companies like Nike have been drooling over for decades.” She then lightly slapped my cheek, “Plus, you are a cheap investment, considering the position he has you in with your family.”
Valente laughed, “I like you, Quinn. You’re good for my boy here. Listen, Alvin, just continue to do what you are doing. We’ll put in the ground work. Just make sure you make it to Rio, because I’d hate to find out what Theo would do if he thinks you aren’t going to live up to the hype.”
“Whew, ok then.” I sighed. “Let’s get to work.”
Leo smiled, “I leave first. I have a feeling you two have some unfinished business to work out.” Leo left my condo leaving me and Quinn alone.
“So,” I grinned sheepishly, “Adelina, eh? I like it.”
Quinn grinned devilishly. “Its still Quinn to you. Now come over to this couch and lets finish up our business arrangement.”
My grin could have lit up the Sears Tower. It was good to be home.

Mostly the same team from last year except a couple players came back from loan and others went up in rating so they are now starting.

Alvin should make the squad, but for some weird reason he hasn't played a friendly since being put on loan. I hope its not a glitch. I wouldn't want to mess up this story line.
