Breaking News:

"Just in to Chesterfield Magazine, we have learned the ST C.Lavery has a Sprained Ankle and the team doctor thinks the earliest he could return is in 4 weeks"
A Mid-April return will leave only 4-5 League 1 games left in the season and that assumes Lavery comes backs fully fit , ready to start and play like his old self.
Manager Stumpf did a quick interview with a few local reporters to try to keep everyone calm and also tell the fans to keep the Championship dream alive. He talked about Lavery's top two replacement candidates and Stumpf has faith to keep Loza on the bench as he has been scoring a good deal late in games when the opponent is tired and has 9 goals so far then to start he will go back to ST S.Yesil who started the year on fire and even took some starts away from Lavery but cooled down in January but had 11 goals before his dry spell. Stumpf believes they can combine to fill in for Lavery's production as both starters or off the bench.
ST C.Lavery joins fellow starter RW J.Bamba on the injured list along with backup/reserve CB C.Raglan. RM M.Lopez and RW G.Kerk have filled in for Bamba and have done a good job being young and inexperienced and playing big minutes in a title chase. There is depth on the team since Stumpf reinforced the team in January and maybe it's earlier than he wanted but maybe it's time to see what they can do. Other players expected to get a bump in minutes with injury situation are reserve players LM Betesford who can play on right mid, reserve ST E.Dieseruvwe , on loan ST A.Gnanduillet can be recalled and RM D.Garner could also be recalled from loan. Stumpf even mentioned out of favor LM S.Clucas being brought back into the team as he has been in the doghouse since he expressed his disappointment with lack of games to the press last month. Stumpf did mention there is no way they will bring any youth squad players up as they have enough depth and a youth player might be signed to help fill in reserve team but not play in the first team squad as this will squash rumors of top youth players being signed and thrown into the mix.
So Chesterfield will be without 3 players as they try to hold off the teams chasing them down. These final games will also show how well Stumpf can adjust tactics and personel.
