    NXT PRE-SHOW

Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, and Renee Young are ringside at the NXT TAKEOVER Preview Show and will be bringing interviews all night leading up to our first NXT Special!

First we have an interview with Apollo Crews by Devin Taylor.

DT: Apollo, please explain your actions and what led to the attack vs Sting?
AC: Listen Devin, I have no ill will for Sting, actually quit the opposite, I have the highest respect for Sting. He is a legend, an ICON in this sport. But I did it, strictly for my career.

DT: Can you further elaborate on that?
AC: What was I doing the week prior? I was in a match vs Bull Dempsey. I have been stuck facing the Dempsey’s and Tye Dillingers of the world. But what has been happening? The WWE went on an Independent raid and lets look at the signings. AJ Styles…He’s in the main event tonight, in a Steel Cage match for the NXT Championship. Austin Aries…in the Co-Main Event, battling for the NXT Light Heavyweight Championship. The Bullet Club…had a chance to be in the WWE Tag Team Championship tonight, but are still on the card facing Daniel Bryan and a partner of his choosing. What was I doing? Now, I’m on the card facing a LEGEND. Last week, I fought Samoa Joe. A big win tonight will further push my career and inject me into the title picture. The move was a business move, only for the sake of my career.

DT: Do you have any remorse for the attack?
    AC: No comment.
DT: Well Apollo, thank you for the explanation, and good luck tonight.
    AC: Thank you Devin

We cut to the entrance and see a Limo pull up…..and it’s Austin Aries! The Greatest Man That Ever Lived has arrived into The Barclays Center.

JoJo: Austin, what is your mindset going into tonights Light Heavyweight Championship Match?

AA: Show up, dominate, leave……As the CHAMP.
JoJo: How do you feel about Sami Zayn and the path he took to face you?
AA: Path?! WHAT PATH. I faced Christian and Neville, had two awesome matches, and who did he face? Sami Zayn had to go through Rich Swann….and Kalisto. Who the hell are they? See ya later JoJo, I have business to attend too.

We cut to a backstage interview now conducted earlier by Renee Young with The Phenomenal AJ Styles

RY: AJ, thank you for taking time before your big night to meet with me. Quick question, what is your mind set heading into your big match with Finn Balor for the NXT title tonight?

AJ: I’ll tell you what Renee, it is a hell of lot better than it was last week. Honestly, I was trying to figure out what to do w/ DOC Gallows and Karl Anderson, two guys at one point i would call my friends. But thanks to William Regal, not only banning them from ringside, but locking Finn and myself inside a Steel Cage, allows me to focus on this one on one match up.

RY: What do you think about Finn’s “Demon” attire and his demeanor.
AJ: It’s just that, attire. I’ve faced plenty of guys like him in my career. He wins with the psychological warfare, and I won’t let that happen tonight. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get prepared for a war tonight.

Back to ringside, We have the panel discussing the events when all of a sudden Seth Rollins music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.

Seth Rollins: Tonight is a sham! I am the most talented person on this roster and I am NOT even on the card. It’s already bad enough that I’m not competing for the Title, but to not even be included? A Travesty. So tonight, I offer anyone in the back an open challenge, to come face me in the middle of this ring. I will even put my MITB briefcase on the line.

    NXT TAKEOVER CARD
NXT Championship Match: “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs Finn Balor (C)
NXT Light Heavyweight Championship Match: Austin Aries vs Sami Zayn
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: American Alpha vs Cesaro & Kidd (C)
    Apollo Crews vs Sting
Seth Rollins Open Challenge for the MITB briefcase
The Bullet Club vs Daniel Bryan and a Partner of his choosing
    The Debut:Manny Andrade vs Christian

Good news! Left my system on overnight to see if it would advance and it did! All my caws are there and my universe is there.

I will have TAKEOVER up after work tonight!

The Lights brighten and we focus on HHH in the middle of the ring with a Mic.

The Crowd erupts with N-X-T N-X-T chants as Triple H exits the ring.

On the Titantron we see a recap of Apollo Crews attacking Sting backstage two weeks, and than footage of The Icon returning the favor vs Apollo last week as he left his match vs Samoa Joe.

The Crowd is hyped and its time to begin our first match! Apollo Crews music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with mixed reactions from the Brooklyn crowd.

Crews stands alone in the ring when out comes his opponent, The Icon….STING!

The offense early on is carried by the younger Crews. Sting gets some offense in, however never really seems to get the upper hand on Crews. Crews hits the quick Gorilla Press and standing moonsault but Sting is able to kick out. Too early in the match for Crews to pick up the victory. Stings veteran ring presence shows as he rolls out and baits Crews to the outside where Sting is able to sneak back in the ring and begin attacking Crews as he rolls in. Sting quickly builds up momentum and whips Crews into the corner…STINGER SPLASH! followed by the Scorpion Death drop…1….2….KICK OUT by Crews. Crews catches sting with Sit-Out Powerbomb for the win!

We are set to begin our next match, and a video airs on the titantron highlighting all the accolades of La Sombra. When out comes Manny Andrade. He takes off his mask, throws it on the ground and stomps on it. Manny is here!

Next coming down to the ring is Christian to a nice crowd pop

The two superstars lock up and its all Andrade from the opening bell. Andrade shows why he was such a highly sought after free agent showing both rare speed, size and strength and picks up the easy win after a DDT on Christian. No matter which belt he decides to go for, the Light Heavyweight or NXT Championship, he should be a major player going forward and a rising star to watch.

We now begin our first Tag-Team match of the night, and one where still don’t know all the participants. We get a flashback recap of Daniel Bryan attempting to save AJ Styles from last week where he was then laid out by The Bullet Club. Bryan has a chance to have a tag team partner of his choosing tonight.

The Bullet Club made there way to the ring and then out comes Daniel Bryan to a huge ovation. YES! YES! YES! chants take over The Barclays Center.

The crowd silences as we await Daniel Bryan’s partner……..

AND IT’S SAMOA JOE!!! We saw Joe be involved just a few weeks ago against the Bullet Club when he teamed with Sting where the Bullet Club was defeated.

We see Daniel Bryan and DOC Gallows start the match off together and saw The Bullet Club maintain the attack. Bryan is able to get the hot tag into Joe and he begins cleaning house. Eventually Bryan gets tagged back in and gets Anderson down on one knee. Repeated Kicks after Kicks to the chest…Bryan steps back and the crowd goes crazy, Bryan goes for the final kick the head, Anderson ducks…GUN STUN!! out of nowhere. 1…2…JOE with the break up. In comes DOC Gallows and the two battle on the outside. Bryan and Anderson get to their feet, as is the crowd, back and forth punches from both men getting “BOO” and “YEA” chants as they alternate the offense. Bryan goes for a running knee, misses, a SECOND GUN STUN! 1….2……3 and The Bullet Club get the victory.

We get a video replay from the NXT TAKEOVER pre show where Seth Rollins makes a challenge to anyone in the back for his MITB Briefcase. And out comes Mr. MITB Seth Rollins with Paul Heyman.

Who will step up and take the challenge?

                  And its Hideo Itami!!

Rollins and Itami lock up and we see beautiful chain wrestling to start the match. Both men have there fair share of time in control of the match, and then Seth Rollins begins to take advantage around the 10:00 minute mark of the match. Rollins gets Itami in the corner and hits the turnbuckle powerbomb. Rollins goes for the pin but it is not enough to keep Itami down. Rollins climbs to the outside apron and sizes up Itami. As soon as Itami gets to his knees, Rollins hits a springboard knee to the head. Rollins goes for another pin but again Itami kicks out. Rollins becomes visually upset and Heyman barks orders at him to calm down and focus. Rollins backs away and looks to be setting Itami up for a curb stomp. He runs in, Itami moves out of the way and uses a school boy roll up…1……2…..3!!! Itami defeats Seth Rollins and now Holds in the Money In The Bank briefcase! Rollins is irate and attacks Itami after the match and hits the Pedigree. Shinuske Nakamura then runs down and makes the save and takes out Rollins.

And now its time for the first of our 3 championship matches on the night. We get a recap of the Tag Team Tournament which was won by American Alpha.

Jordan & Gable make there way to the ring with obvious fan support.

We then see the Tag Team Champions make there way with a cocky attitude.

Gable and Kidd start the match off and the crowd is very into the match. Both men have counters for every move their opponent has. We then get a tag to each teams power as Jason Jordan and Cesaro both enter. We see impressive suplexes from Jordan and powerful strength from Cesaro. Cesaro gets Jordan into the corner and hits a running European Uppercut! An attempted Neutralizer gets reversed into a T-Bone Suplex. Gable and Kidd tagged back in and the action picks up as both men, the much quicker in their pairings, begin to pick up the pace. Gable hits multiple suplexes of his own and hits a big German suplex with a pin. Cesaro runs in to break it up and Jordan is able to get to him before…1……2….NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

We then see Cesaro and Kidd hug in the middle of the ring and they exit together. If you recall earlier, Cesaro was traded to Smackdown earlier in a move that brought over some Light Heavyweight Contenders. Tyson Kidd will remain on NXT

We get a highlight and breakdown of the Light Heavyweight Championship Tournament, which leads to the Title Match tonight between Austin Aries and Sami Zayn. Both men make their way to the ring.

Hot Crowd chants begin for Sami with OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE!. Aries takes a break and stands on the top rope facing the crowd telling the to be quiet. The two men lock up and focus on who can show boat the most. Aries gets early offense in however Zayn is able to recover and begins taking over. Blue Thunder Bomb to a count of 2. Aries is dazed and is thrown into the corner. Zayn backs up and attempts a Heluva Kick! however Aries ducks and rolls out of the way. With Zayn still in the corner Aries goes for a splash but is caught! Exploder suplex into the corner! Aries thinks he’s safe and rolls out of the ring. But Zayn rolls out on the opposite and runs through the turnbuckles and hits a huge DDT on the outside! We get a “Holy Sh” chant to which Zayn embraces the NXT Universe. Zayn appears to be rolling but Aries grabs his tights and pulls him into the barricade. Aries gets the upper hand with attacks on the outside and throws Zayn back into the ring. Aries picks him up and hits the Brain Buster to become the first NXT Light Heavyweight Champion.

AND FINALLY its the Main Event Time. A Steel Cage match up between AJ Styles (the challenger) and Finn Balor (the Champion).

The Phenomenal AJ Styles makes his way to the ring and looks confident in his first WWE Title match

But now here comes the Champ. The Crowd motions along with every Balor pose and movement.

The cage now lowers and we get a “This is AWESOME” chant before any action even takes place. Tie up after tie up, counter after counter, hold for hold, these men have each other perfectly scouted. The two men separate and get a round of applause from the crowd. The two go for a test of strength when Balor kicks Styles in the midsection and goes on the attack. Styles thrown into the corner and Balor hits a Shot gun drop kick, followed up by a running drop kick to the downed opponent. Balor attempts to escape through the cage door when he’s ran down by Styles. Balor goes for a big clothesline and Styles ducks under….PELE kick which draws a 2 count. Styles tries to climb out the cage but is caught from behind by Balor who hits a big suplex. Baylor makes a pin attempt which Styles kicks out of at two. Balor climbs to the top and appears to be able to win the match but stops….he turns around and looks down on Styles…he goes for the Coupe De Grace from the top of the cage!!! but misses…..STYLES CLASH!!! and AJ escapes the cage and becomes THE NEW NXT CHAMPION!

AWESOME TakeOver Show. New champions galore...DAMN!

                      Great show all around.

What system are you on? Only reason I ask is because there are some great new AJ Styles CAWs coming out recently that look even better.

Thanks. The Itami match for the briefcase through a loop into my plan but I decided to roll with it and I have some things planned in mind. With Cesaro going to Smackdown, I had to split them and drop the straps.

I'm on xbox one. I've seen a couple on Smacktalks I have my eyes on when they get uploaded.

NXT opens up with Commissioner William Regal in the ring and he recaps last weeks NXT: TAKEOVER Special.

                              WR:
Last week, we saw the landscape of NXT change. Three new champions crowned! A changing of The Money in The Bank Briefcase, and a lot of exciting action. That is what we do here at NXT. Without further ado, let me introduce, our NEW NXT Champion, The Phenomenal AJ Styles!

AJ’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

WR: AJ, congratulations on winning your first championship in the WWE, and Im proud to announce it was here in NXT.

Before AJ has a chance to speak, Finn Balors music hits and he stays on the ramp, mic in hand, staring down to Styles and Regal.

FB: AJ, listen up, I’m not here to make excuses, you beat me last week fair and square by escaping the steel cage. I’m here to remind you that I have a rematch clause in my contract, and I’m here to announce that I am using it, next week, right here on NXT.

WR: AJ, he is right, and I have no choice to make it official. The Main Event next week right here on NXT, will be AJ Styles vs Finn Balor for the NXT Championship. Oh, and Finn, although it will not be a steel cage match, your Bullet Club members are still banned from Ringside.

Match 1: The New Light Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries makes his way to the ring and cuts a promo during his entrance.

AA: Last week, I proved that I am The Greatest Man that Ever Lived. I decimated Sami Zayn, regardless of what you people may say or think. And to prove I am the greatest champion who ever lived, I’m starting my defense tonight….in the Austin Aries Open Challenge…and it begins…..NOW.

We hear a fairly odd, but familiar music begin to play

                              CG:
Oh no….it can’t be…..are you freaking serious Saxton?
BS: I don’t believe it either Corey
CG: You have GOT to be Kidding Me, this is an embarrassment to our great champion.

                              Spoiler

The NXT Universe begins chanting- Norman Smiley *clap clap clap* x3
AA: Is this a freaking joke? You’re an NXT trainer, you haven’t competed inside a ring in years. What makes you think this will be fair, or that you even have a chance against me?

NS: You may be right, but you want fair? You want to give me a chance? Then let’s make this a HARDCORE match up, something I am familiar with, and a former Hardcore champion.

AA: Whatever man, I’m a fighting champ, and issued an open challenge.

Smiley pulls out a Kendo Stick and begins to go to town on Aries!!

Smiley stands in the middle of the ring and the Universe begins to chant “Hit The Wiggle….Hit the Wiggle”

AND THERE IT IS!!! THE BIG WIGGLE

But Aries is behind him with a chair…and BAM, chair shot right to the head, followed by a BRAINBUSTER! right onto the chair. 1…2…3

Aries retains his Light Heavyweight Title.

Match 2: Blake and Murphy vs The Vaudevillians

Blake and Simon Gotch open the contest up with the crowd fully behind The Vaudevillians. Kicks and suplex's by Blake leads to a tag to his partner Murphy. Murphy continues the dominance and cuts the ring in half. Aiden English eventually gets tagged in, however is just as unsuccessful as his partner. English is thrown into the corner and the Tag Team Finisher of Blake And Murphy, their patented Spinebuster/Frog Splash combo gets them the victory.

Match 3: Samoa Joe vs Bull Dempsey

Bull gets in some early offense, however once Joe got rolling, there was no comeback. Joe begins to unleash a fury of kicks, chops, punches and a wide arrange of suplex’s. This match showed how scary Joe can be in top gear. Joe hits the Chimera-Plex and throws Bull into the corner and uses the Muscle Buster to pick up the victory.

We cut to Renee Young in the back w/ Tyler Breeze and Tye Dillinger
RY: Guys, what prompted this interview?

Match 4: Apollo Crews vs Alex Riley

The match starts off with Alex Riley in full control. It appears that Riley caught Crews off guard and hits a multitude of suplex’s. Crews rolls out of the ring and regroups and collects his thoughts. Riley rolls out of the ring and gets met with a hard clothesline by Crews. Crews goes on the attack and hits the Gorilla Press Moonsault combination followed by a Sit out Powerbomb to pick up the victory.

Match 5: Neville vs Johnny Gargano

A very exciting fast paced match in our Light Heavyweight division which saw plenty of close encounters and false finishes. Counters, reversals, and outside of the ring diving brought the crowd to their feet early and often. Garganno took the upper hand and locked in the Gargano Escape, however Neville was able to reach the ropes to break up the hold. Gargano went for the Hurts Donut, however Neville countered and eventually got the upper hand and hits the Red Arrow to pick up the victory. This is the kind of action we expected when The Light Heavyweight Title was announced! The future in this title race is sure to be exciting.

Match 6: Shinsuke Nakamura Vs Elias Sampson

Nakamura got the upper hand from the bell, however the match ended early when Seth Rollins made a run in and attacked Nakamura from behind. Rollins looks to be lining up for a curb stomp when in comes Hideo Itami for the save! However Rollins gets the upper hand and hits the Pedigree on Itami! Followed by a Curb Stomp to Nakamura! Rollins then grabbed The MITB Briefcase which he just recently lost and escaped through the crowd to end the show.

                                Great show.

Breeze and Dillinger is an odd team. Should be interesting.

Norman Smiley in the ring is funny.
