I always wonder what Owen's career would have been if he didn't fall, nice to see him get a big shot here

Also there was a moment in the match where you wrote something like “Mabel picks a fight with Henry O. Godwin. Mabel wins.” And my heart dropped reading the second part because I thought you just had Mabel win the royal rumble.

I REALLY wanted to redo this Rumble, and I thought I did a way better job...lol.

I'm sorry I got you on Mabel! He's too green! He had a great Rumble, though. Final five and four eliminations.

      Owen deserved this the most!

I echo the sentiment. Great Rumble, and I think it's awesome Owen gets the push I always thought he deserved.

          WCW Monday Night Nitro
          January 23rd, 1995

          Opening Segment
Hulk Hogan and The Renegade are in the ring to begin the show. Hulk Hogan said that Renegade and him dominated their tag match last week, brother. Warrior, brother, I don't know what you think you are doing in WCW, brother. But it doesn't matter, brother, because what Hogan knows is that he can beat the Warrior!

Warrior's music hits! Warrior runs down to the ring!

Warrior is snarling into the microphone. Hogan asks Warrior what he is doing in WCW, brother? Warrior continues to snarl, and Renegade grabs the microphone and begins to snarl back at Warrior!? Warrior and Renegade both throw down the microphones and get into each other's faces. Hogan gets in the middle of them, but this allows Renegade to cheap shot Warrior! Warrior lunges and takes down both Hogan and Renegade. A swarm of security come down and pull each men off of each other.

          Singles Match
Flyin' Brian Pillman vs. Johnny Swinger
We get some lock-ups to begin this match with Swinger trying to ground Pillman. Pillman would get into control of this match by getting away and hitting a leaping cross-body. Flyin' Brian would go up top and hit multiple moves such as a dropkick and a cross-body. Swinger would try to hit a full-nelson slam maneuver, but Pillman countered into a pin! 6:33
          Spoiler

          Backstage
Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan are talking in the back. Hogan tells Bischoff to handle this, so he does. Bischoff announces Warrior will be making his in-ring debut next week in the main event. Hulk Hogan likes that, and Eric then says against Renegade. Hogan does not like that. AND if Warrior wins, he gets the title shot for Hogan's title! Hogan REALLY doesn't like that!

          Tag Team Match
Harlem Heat vs. Buddy Wayne & Al Phillips
This was a very one-sided match. Harlem Heat used their experience, and dominated. Booker T would hit the Scissors Kick onto Phillips for the victory. 4:19
          Spoiler

          After Match Action
Steven Regal and Bobby Eaton hit the ring and attack Harlem Heat from behind! Regal and Eaton hold up the tag titles, signaling they want next!

          Backstage
Sting and Macho Man are backstage talking. Macho Man says that Sting may have got himself into that United States Championship match, and they might be friends, but do not doubt for a second that Macho Man won't kick Sting's *** to win the title. Sting laughs and agrees with Macho Man, saying it will be every man for themselves. Vader walks in and he says he is disgusted by these two. They will watch a real fighter next, and see why they should be more worried for this triple threat match.

          Singles Match
Big Van Vader vs. Chris Kanyon
Kanyon begins the match with a running boot to Vader, but it doesn't affect Vader! Vader grabs Kanyon and throws him into the corner and connects with many trikes. A biel throw and now Vader runs THROUGH Kanyon! Vader then picks up Kanyon and connects with the Vader Bomb. 3:02
          Spoiler

          Backstage
Eric Bischoff is talking backstage to Arn Anderson discussing tonight's main event in which Arn will be defending the Television Championship.

          Tag Team Match
Maxx Muscle & Maxx Payne (w/Diamond Dallas Page) vs. Damien Striker & Eddie Guerrero
Damien Striker would begin this match with some high energy moves taking down Muscle a few times. Eddie Guerrero would get into this match, and he and Striker would work very well with each other. Muscle would grab each of them and collide their skulls. Muscle would drag Guerrero over to Payne and they would hit the Maxx Effect (Double Spinebuster). 5:01
          Spoiler

          Vignette
Sabu will be back next week!

Singles Match | WCW Television Championship
Arn Anderson (c) vs. Jushin Thunder Liger
What a treat! Liger is in the second main event of Nitro! Liger would use his top rope moves to keep the enforcer guessing. Arn would finally catch Liger and hit his signature spinebuster! Liger would kick out and this match would continue. When it was looking like Liger was going to put away Arn, here is Ric Flair!? Flair with the distraction on Liger, and Arn pulls Liger down into a pin! 15:42
          Spoiler

          After Match
It has been awhile...Arn and Ric hug it out in the middle of the ring as Flair raises Arn's arm with the gold in his hand.

Nice to see Warrior just completely coked out insane tumbling into the main event scene.

The US Title match is Sting vs. Vader vs. Macho? That'll be a good one.

Arn & Flair back together is a bit of a rewrite no? I think they were still feuding in 96 when I started my rewatch.

Lol. Warrior has to get through Renegade first [emoji23]

Yes! It is a triple threat match. Sting brought in Macho, Macho challenges Vader and Sting snuck his way into the match as well.

Big rewrite. Flair would be "retired" right now, and Arn would be in his singles run. Decided that I didn't like that in real life, so I am changing the direction very quickly.

Re: Bard's Retro Universe | Three Way Dance

Sting vs. Vader vs. Macho Man - awesome! I guess its just because I was always a bigger WCW than WWF fan (granted, I started watching regularly just as the Monday Night Wars began, so the only WCW I knew was the one loaded with former WWF guys), but I always liked Macho Man more in those early years in WCW than I did when he was in WWF.

Definitely digging the Flair/Arn thing. Everything that happened with Flair between the time that he returned to WCW and WCW's end was so weird and convoluted (although often unintentionally hilarious). I'm sure you'll make more sense of things!

                  Monday Night Raw
                  January 23rd, 1995

                  Opening Segment
Owen Hart is in the ring to begin the show. Owen discusses that he is the man to beat right now, not anyone else. Not Diesel, not Bret Hart, not Davey Boy, but HIM! Owen Hart is THE MAN!

                  This brings out Diesel.

Diesel discusses that he was very impressed with Owen Hart, He had a lot of eliminations, and he is the first person ever to win the Royal Rumble from the number one spot. However, Diesel knows the end of this story. At WrestleMania, Diesel is still walking out as the WWF Champion.

Right as Owen goes to speak, here comes Bret Hart!?

Bret congratulates Owen on his big win last night, and he knows what it feels like to win a Royal Rumble. He knows what it feels like to main event WrestleMania and win the big one...and he doesn't feel Owen is ready for that, yet. Owen begins to yell at Bret Hart, but Bret gets into his face,a and says into the microphone..."fight me". Owen looks shocked. Bret begins to talk again, not losing focus on Owen. Bret tells Owen that he wants a singles match in two weeks. Heal up, and get ready for a fight. It will be Bret Hart and Owen Hart, one more time. However, if Bret wins, he gets to join the WrestleMania main event for the WWF Championship. Owen says absolutely not! Bret asks if Owen is having second thoughts on if he is the best? Owen then agrees! Owen versus Bret in two weeks! If Bret wins, he joins the main event of WrestleMania for Diesel's WWF Championship!

                  News
Our main event tonight will feature the Smoking Gunns taking on 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly for the WWF Tag Team Championships!

                  Singles Match
                  British Bulldog vs. Brooklyn Brawler
Brawler had an early advantage and hit a nice looking DDT for a nearfall, but Bulldog eventually came back and hit a long vertical suplex. After further dominance, The Bulldog put away Brooklyn Brawler with a running Powerslam. 3:04
                  Spoiler

                  Match Announcement
Next week we will get a behemoth singles match! It will be Mabel and King Kong Bundy.

                  In-Ring Segment
Jerry “The King” Lawler make his way down the aisle. He does some talking about how he almost defeated Diesel last night to become WWF Champion, but enough about him. He introduces the new Intercontinental Champion, Jeff Jarrett! Jerry introduced the new Intercontinental champion who was strutting around the ring. Jeff showed off his new title. Jeff said thank you very much for the introduction. He addressed Razor Ramon and reminded him that he told him he was coming to the Rumble to take his title and that he would humiliate him, and that’s exactly what he did. He told Razor that if you want a rematch come on, because you are now the challenger and I’m the champion.

Jerry asked Jeff what is next for double J. Jarrett said that he’s had time to think about it, and he realizes there’s something missing and that’s the World Wrestling Federation title. He addressed Diesel and called him out. He said Diesel if you have the guts he will show the whole world that the winner of the match via submission will be the new World Wrestling Federation champion. As he was winding up his promo, King low-blows Jarrett! The Roadie tries to attack King, but King dodges and connects with a pile-driver! King gets back on the microphone, and calls Jarrett an idiot! Diesel is going to face the Hart's at Mania, and won't waste his time on Double J. Since King lost his shot at the WWF Championship, he now is setting his eyes on the Intercontinental Championship!

                  Singles Match
                  Kama vs. Buck Quartermain
Buck got a few shots in early, but the majority of the match was Kama dominating. Kama connected with a flurry of punches and it looked like he connected with a KO Elbow which knocked out Buck. Kama wasn't done, however as he picked up Buck and hit the Tombstone for the victory. 2:58
                  Spoiler

                  Singles Match
                  Lex Luger vs. Tatanka
This was a very nice back and forth match between these two. Tatanka had a lot of offense going in this one, and was able to ground Luger for a majority of the match. Luger would eventually get some momentum rolling and put Tatanka into the Torture Rack for the finish. 7:58

                  Backstage
Shawn Michaels cuts a promo, that if Bret Hart gets a shot at the winner of the Rumble, why doesn't Michaels? Shawn wants...no, NEEDS the WWF Championship!

Jeff Jarrett walks by Michaels and tells him to not be a baby. Michaels then unloads on Jarrett and Roadie!

Tag Team Match | WWF World Tag Team Championships
1-2-3 Kid & Bob Holly (c) vs. The Smoking Gunns
Bob Holly and Billy Gunn started the match and locked up mid-ring. Both men took turns gaining the upper hand, before facing off again. Billy Gunn eventually applied a wrist lock, and Bart tagged into the ring. Holly managed to escape and applied an armlock on Bart, and attempted to tag in the Kid, but Bart escaped. Bart and Kid locked up, and after some fast paced back and for, Bart missed with a dropkick and sold hurting his head. Kid applied an armlock and tagged in Bob, who went back to working on the arm.

Holly and Bart both missed with elbow drops, and again they locked up. Holly gained the advantage and laid in some right hands. Bart blind tagged Billy who came in with a bulldog for a close two count. Billy, showing some aggressive offence hit some quick elbow drops before tagging Bart back in. The Gunns performed a double team manoeuvre, but when going for a second, Bob Holly broke free and knocked Billy off the top rope so he was straddling the corner. Holly and Kid then hit a double superplex for a nearfall. This led to a sustained amount of offence for Holly and Kid.

Late in the match, Holly got the hot tag after a long beatdown of the Kid. Holly hit a big dropkick on Billy Gunn for a nearfall and then hit a powerslam. He went to the top rope, but eat a boot when Billy got his leg up. Bart tagged in and picked up Holly, and both men performed a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo, and we have new Tag Team Champions….17:02
                  Spoiler

                  Post-Match
After the match, The Gunns celebrated in the ring with about four ladies in the front row looking very excited they had just won the titles. Holly was still knocked out and Kid looked dejected mid-ring. After awhile Kid and Holly were at ringside, where Vince said that you guys definitely gave everything you had to give. Kid said that you are right Vince, he is really disappointed. He said he’s not taking anything away from The Smoking Gunns but they only had 24 hours to prepare. He then said nevertheless it was a great performance by them and went to interview Holly. Bob said that they were the underdogs but Kid cut him off and asked The Gunns for a rematch next week as the show went off the air!

Tough night for JJ. Is he a face right now or turning face as he starts the program with King? Nice spot for Lawler btw after losing to Diesel.

The main event scene is great with Bret and Owen. I'm interested to see where Michaels ends up on the Mania card.

He is definitely a heel coming into this feud. However, I think King is going to out heel him into a face/tweener role.

Re: Bard's Retro Universe | Three Way Dance

                        Hey y'all!

Just that time of the year, and now with the word from the school district I'm going to be starting back up with school work!

I just switched schools, and I am teaching freshman level students, so I have to do freshman orientation! (Yuck!) I am making this update, and will literally copy and paste it to the other thread.

Lately I have been able to post everyday to every other day, but it's definitely going to change, lol. I am planning on one or MAYBE two days a week to put out one show of each since my gaming time is about to go way down.

So like on a Thursday I have time, I'll get out a WCW Nitro for my other thread and one NXT. Then next Tuesday I have time, I'll do Monday Night Raw and one NXT.

Just want to be upfront, and no, I'm not quitting these because I really do enjoy them so much!

                        Thanks all!
