Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Well.... this doesn't sound good.
The AU Mod on Rivals who has been literally perfect in his predictions all year, including Mack's switch to AU, Whitaker, etc. will NOT be attending Marcus's anouncement Tues. night.
Reading between the lines...it appears Marcus will stay instate. Son of a biscuit eater.
Hope I'm wrong, but the tea leaves from the latest posts by trusted folks seem to think Marcus is leaning towards being the "savior" at USC.
Ben Tate last year alone rushed for more yards than three of Spurrier's five teams at South Carolina have, and Malzahn's four offenses have always rushed for at least 1,200 more yards than Spurrier's.
On the good side, at least he's not going to Alabama, Tennessee, or someplace who could actually use him to beat us.
I'm not saying "we didn't want him" because that'd be absurd; he's clearly a very talented running back. I just think that committing to Spurrier's South Carolina over Auburn under anyone but Terry Bowden is odd.Last edited by Cebby; 02-02-2010, 10:52 AM.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
In brighter news for AU,
No rumor....every AU board moderator is reporting that the AU staff has a big surprise for everyone on National Signing Day.
Apparently, it's a kid who'll commit that is completely off the radar, big name, etc.
Have no idea who it is, but the last time the coaches did that, AU got DeAngelo Benton last year out of nowhwere.
It's fun to have these kinds of surprises now and not be "surprised" by landing unranked long snappers.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Michigan tried to slowplay Knight at the last minute, they've gotten optimistic feedback about Sean Parker and Demar Dorsey, and they like both of those guys better than Knight.
I suspect it will bite them, because I think Dorsey's going to FSU.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Looking that way. Good luck to the kid. He'll have a heavy burden on him at USC to be the "man" so to speak. There are 99 reasons out of 100 he would do better at AU, but in state ties, etc. are a powerful thing.
On a brighter note, 4 star DT Byran Jones is expected to commit to Auburn tomorrow. Word on Lemonier is that it's 50/50 between AU and FSU.AUBURN TIGERS
