Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
As soon as I saw that Ahmad Dixon had committed to Baylor I knew Rivals would drop him out of the top 100.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
I'm not sure why they would. With Baylor being a pretty rich fan school and the team up and coming you would think they'd keep him there to try and get some subscriptions.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Because Rivals placates their biggest fan bases by inflating the rating of their commitments and recruits. If you commit to Florida or Alabama (and I'll admit a couple years back FSU players saw the same treatment) you will see a nice jump in your rating. It also helps their Southeast recruiting analyst is a complete moron.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Is it really a big conspiracy if he moved from 94 to 102? Most of the guys in the top250 (outside of the elite guys like Henderson and Powell) are interchangeable. There isn't a whole lot to seperate em. He was probably passed by a few guys who are doing well at camps, not because of what school he switched to.MLB: Rays
NCAA: Michigan and Florida
NFL: 49ers
NHL: Lightning and DucksComment

Michigan's loss is Florida State's gain by way of Texas. Cedar Park (Texas) Linebacker Holmes Onwukaife is the 10th Commitment of Florida State's 2010 recruiting class.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
More so a statement of how everyone knows Rivals.com conducts business. BamaOnline has Rivals biggest subscription base, they placate that base with inflated rankings. Seeing as you missed it or just failed to comprehend it, I stated they did the same thing for Florida State for years when Warchant.com was their biggest site. Pretty much anyone offered now by Florida or USC will see a bump in their ranking as well, along with the Notre Dame kids. When it comes to the Southeast, their analyst, Barry Every admits to being a SEC homer and giving SEC commitments preferential treatment, he also hates FSU as he was fired from there and Georgia.
I have been on Rivals.com long enough to remember when some of the higher ups like Mike Farrell would actually answer questions in the main recruiting forum, before the plethora of SEC fans turned it into an internet cesspool that is.Comment

Re: 2010 Recruiting Thread
Ahmad Dixon dropped out because his interest in Auburn skyrocketed, he's now seriously considering Auburn, wants to visit twice next season and in January. To make the bammers happy, rivals dropped him out and put LaDarius Owens in.
Owens's interest in bama grew slightly, and he announces next week. Since he has a shot at bama they upped his rating. That's the only way to explain it.
Jake Holland should be ranked ahead of Owens, but because he committed to Auburn he isn't. Holland and Owens played on the same field for their spring game, and Holland outshined Owens, and Nigel Terrel. Now Holland is stuck at a 3 star.
Oh and did anyone else notice how DeMarcus Milliner jumped to 5 star and was all over rivals the week before he committed to bama? Coincidence?WUSTLComment

It is funny with Alabama fans, I remember back when FSU was getting that preferential treatment they would bitch and moan about it, now that they get that treatment it simply doesn't exist and is a conspiracy theory.Comment

I think the bigger conspiracy theory is why Rivals keeps checking offer next to Alabama's name after Auburn gets a commit.Comment
