He did say the Gators are his favorite and it sounds like they'll be tough to knock off. Everyone who was at the event said he was the best player on the field so he might be getting a big boost in the next rankings(of course it won't be based on talent, but because he's a Gator lock...). Easley said he was on the verge of committing Saturday morning, but no word on if he did as I post this. According to the guys on rivals, the coaches are meeting tomorrow to re configure the board. Some guys who want to committ at this time, might not have that chance after Monday. One of those guys might be WR James Louis who wanted to commit last week but was supposed to meet with Meyer this weekend before going public. Some are saying he might not have the grades or the Gators are after better players and want to keep that spot open.

Now my Michigan side: Psy, what's going on with Michigan and Dior Mathis? I've read that he and Michigan are done? I'm surprised because I thought he'd be a lock when I started paying attention to 2010 recruits.

Michigan has other CBs higher on their board (Cullen Christian, Tony Grimes, Rashad Knight) and Mathis has definitely been relegated to the back burner. If any of the Plan A guys fall through, they can reconnect with Mathis at any time, but as of now, he's down on the totem pole.

And a twist in the recruitment of Rivals100 LB Ladarious Owens..

"So I am not going to be announcing this week. I will probably wait until after the season now and see what direction my favorite schools are going in."

+1 for Alabama right there. The longer he waits, the better chance he'll choose UA. Auburn's still the leader, but its not a cut and dry as it was prior to this development.

For anyone that's familiar with the situation, does Florida have a legit shot at Seantrel Henderson?

I'll copy and paste the post I made about 'Trel in the "next Tony Boselli?" thread:

Nobody knows right now. Schools that are assumed to be in his top group are Michigan, Minnesota, USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Florida. His "list" seems to change around a lot. Michigan has a couple insiders with sources in Minnesota (one of them has direct contact with a Henderson family member) that say UM is in a very good position with Henderson, but at this point it's really not worth paying attention to his recruitment, because he's not very open about it and a decision won't be made anytime soon.

So Tony Boselli is the comparison being made for Henderson? I barely remember him, but wasn't he the #1 overall pick when he came out?

I mentioned it in that thread, but I've heard the Walter Jones/Jon Ogden comparisons to Henderson more than Boselli or Orlando Pace.

He was actually the #2 pick behind Ki-Jana Carter when he came out, the Panthers had the #1 pick and traded out of the spot so the Bengals could make the worst draft pick in NFL history.

I also don't know if any college lineman could be compared to Walter Jones since he only played one year, regardless of how freakishly dominant he was. In the end I don't think the comparisons will matter with Henderson, because he will be special in his own right.

Kenneth Carter chooses Auburn over Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.

Bama only offer tops player, therefore, 6 foot 5 270 Kenneth Carter must must not be any good.

He never had a written offer from Alabama.

"Guys...Carter didn't have a UA offer. That's all that matters. 3 other AU commits are listed with UA offers and committed to AU. That actually had them."

From Alabama's Rivals guy. And if you wish to question his credibility, he's the one who broke the story about LaDarious Owens delaying his decision.
