        Irish pick up Jordan Prestwood

Brian Kelly picked up the second commitment for his first full class at Notre Dame on Monday when highly touted offensive tackle Jordan Prestwood selected the Irish from a pool of scholarship offers featuring some of the nation’s elite programs.

Forget about recruiting rankings since most aren’t released for the class of 2011. Take a look at Prestwood’s list of scholarship offers and you find out all you need to know about what kind of talent Notre Dame just added to its class of 2011.

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, and USC all have offered Prestwood a scholarship to join their programs. So did Cincinnati, Louisville, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
The first group of offers I rattled off is what sticks out though. Nick Saban at Alabama, Urban Meyer at Florida, and Lane Kiffin at USC are considered three of the best recruiters in the country. Brian Kelly just went head to head with all of them and won.

Awwww It was a long shot but I was really hoping he'd roll with the Tide. The same goes for Prestwood. Nice pickups for both schools.

Cyrus is our main OT target, and he's a strong Bama lean at the moment.

Recruiting has become one of those things to me where I don't sweat losing anyone. Especially linemen and defensive backs.

Big time DT Gabe Wright took an unofficial to Auburn today, he told one of the main scout guys that him and his mother loved it and Auburn was his new #1.

Get used to it with this staff.

The defensive lineman says he currently checks in at 6-4, 286 pounds. “I am still growing,” he notes. “My wingspan is like a person six-foot-five.”

One of the reasons Wright likes Auburn is the potential to play for defensive line coach Tracy Rocker. “I love him,” Wright says. “He is one of a kind. He is the best D-line coach I have known.”
Hard to beat playing for a coach who is one of the greatest Defensive Tackles in college football history and one of a very few who won both the Outland and Lombardi in the same season.

We have a "who's who" of QBs that we are in serious contention for as well.

Between Driskell, Uzomah, LeMay, and Kiehl Frazier, we should land another Big time QB in this year's class.

The OL class should be sick too. Already have Region, looks like we'll be getting Dismukes too. Thomas O'Reilly and Watts Dantzler both have AU as one of their top schools as well.

Big Cat Weekend should be huge again this year.

Hasean Clinton-Dix hopefully commits to Alabama at A-day. He's a Mark Barron type at safety. He's probably a fringe 5-star on Rivals.

Scout updated and he's now a 5 star and the #1 Safety.

Nashville OT Antonio Richardson is down to bama and UT with it being an uphill battle for bama according to Andrew Bone(scout). Should be James Stone story part two.

Auburn picks up another big time Offensive line commitment.

Thomas O'Reilly, 6'3" 315lb Guard out of Pope High in Georgia commits to Auburn over Florida State, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Maryland.

If we get Reese Dismukes, as expected, this looks to be another strong OL class for Auburn after last year's stellar group.

A surprise to no one really, #1 safety, Hasean Clinton-Dix, commits to Alabama. First commit of A-Day. That's one huge pull out of Florida.

                                Another link.

Alabama secured a major 2011 recruiting target this morning with a commitment from Orlando, Fla., defensive back Ha'sean Clinton-Dix.

Long considered a strong Crimson Tide lean, Clinton-Dix was to visit Tuscaloosa this weekend with his mother and a commitment was rumored to be in the works.

Clinton-Dix becomes the seventh prep commitment to the Tide for 2011, and appears to be the highest-rated of the bunch.

Also the Tide got a commitment from big TE Malcolm Faciane. He isn't as heralded but has a really nice combination of size and speed, 6'6"-263 running a 4.6. He just turned 17 a day or so ago. could end up at TE, DE or maybe even grow to be an OT.
