    Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread

I see Gilbert/McCoy/etc will have plenty of protection as they've already had signed the #2 OT and #4 OT in the 2011 class.

I'm looking forward to Leroy Scott (#3 DB Nat'l) being the next standout defensive back at DB U.

Speaking of DB, I really, really wish Mizzou could start recruiting more quality d'backs from Texas. Hopefully more will follow Kenji Jackson and Kevin Rutland's footsteps, and come north.

Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly landed his fourth verbal commitment for the recruiting class of 2011 Wednesday morning when Charlotte, N.C., cornerback Matthias Farley picked the Irish. An assistant coach at Charlotte Christian School, where Farley plays, confirmed the commitment.

"He's a big-time-guy ... a very good ballplayer," said CBS College Sports recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, who rates Farley as a four-star prospect.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Farley also had offers from Wisconsin, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Illinois, UCLA and Duke, according to Rivals.com.

Auburn picks up another big time OL prospect.

Spanish Fort (AL) Center Reese Dismukes, 6'3" 275 commits to Auburn over Alabama, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Stanford

This coaching staff is killing it on the OL between this year's commit group and last year's.

Building some great depth on the O line.

Yeah even though I prefer Lemay, but it looks likes he's going to Clemson.

I read that Georgia would be tough to beat for LeMay since Mettenberger left.

                      Very Cool!

Looks like Gene Chizik and Tony Barbee are joining forces and the Auburn "Tiger Prowl" will expand to both Football and Basketball recruiting. Innovative thinking...I like it.

Auburn, Ala.--The Tiger Prowl, which attracted national attention last year with Auburn football assistant coaches visiting high schools across the state in limousines to promote their efforts to recruit top in-state prospects, is back and will start on Monday in south Alabama.

This year’s event will be expanded to include Auburn’s men’s and women’s basketball coaches in addition to members of Gene Chizik's football staff and will give Auburn fans opportunities to get involved starting on Monday night in Mobile.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CDT at Lipscomb Field in Mobile fans can meet the coaches after the coaches make a tour of area high schools during the day.

Tiger Prowl, 460, May 2010, Auburn Coaches

Coaches are shown on last year's Tiger Prowl in Mobile.

On Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. fans can attend the event sponsored by Tigers Unlimited outside the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery at the Exchange Patio next to Tallapoosa Street.

On Wednesday, as the coaches head north, fans can attend the prowl event in Birmingham at a yet to be determined location that is also scheduled for 6-8 p.m.

On Thursday the coaches will be in the Huntsville area for their prowl event at the Madison Commons Lot on Hughes Road in Madison.

Ohio State lands FL TE Jeff Heuerman, a Michigan legacy. He's a good blocker, he's cut from the typical mold of an OSU TE and will probably be a yackle when he plays here, but he is pretty athletic for his size. Staff is looking to take another tight end, though.

Projected 4* DT Michael Bennett narrows his list to OSU and Northwestern., he'll decide soon.

Regardless, DePriest's recruitment is likely to go past the season, so there's still a lonnnnng way to go there.

Latest word is Trey has the Tide on top. Got any extra insight on that?

Also looks like Bama is losing the battle for Dee Hart. I'll still be more than satisfied with any combination of Crowell and "_______ Running back".

One of the insiders on BuckeyePlanet says that its odd... the Rivals guys for Bama has direct quotes from Trey putting the Tide on top, but the recent news out of Springfield has been very pro-OSU. Make of it what you want.
