Brian is doing a nice job of putting together a very strong OL for the next 4 years, and shedding away the fears that he could not recruit against the some of the biggest programs in the nation!
I told you several times Bob in our phone conversations. Brian Kelly will turn ND back into a powerhouse very quickly. He's won everywhere he's been and regardless what others say...ND is still ND. As much as I hate the Irish.

Agreed Drew...and yes, you said that, the minute they hired him. As an Irish fan, I have the right to be skeptical of anyone at this juncture....

But Brian seems to be doing some great things, and the videos I have seen of his spring practice, reminds me of Lou's back in the day.

I call bs on a K with a 4* ranking. I also question all of those OLs claiming FSU offers when it is rare for Rick trickett to extend an offer before their senior seasons are complete.

I'm not sure where the poster is getting his rankings from, but scout has given out four stars to kickers in their rankings.

Pleased to see LeMay go to UGA. Hey what do you know... I'm a Georgia fan living in Charlotte, of course I'm pleased. I hope he turns out better than our last QB from Charlotte. Joe Cox made me want to give up all hope when he was chunking the ball to the other team.

Ah well. None of this matters if the defense still sucks, but I think we'll improve next year and offensively we'll be fine. We've got a hell of a freshman QB right now, so I'm not too concerned.

With everything that has changed in the SEC, there's no reason we can't compete for the SEC this year.

                  Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread

If from Scout, I've always seen their ranking as garbage honestly. Not to say individual team sites may not be vastly superior to Rivals, but their national rankings have always been messed up. I know it's biased, but if Dustin Hopkins didn't get 4* from Rivals in 2009, I don't know how a kicker ever will. The only time I ever remember seeing a K get that much love was Bill Gramatica when he signed with FSU (with some other kid named Janikowski) and I think most of that was because of his older brother.

Well, you of all people like to list the offers of recruits that commit to FSU. Now you're pissed because of this?

This is why I don't like to post what offers recruits say they have because alot of it is BS.

And when I do if others question the legitimacy of the offer it makes for good discussion I think. Unless a kid is truly special, it is rare for Rick Trickett to offer an OL without having seen his senior film unless he's seen him in person. FSU does have some early OL commitments, but they fell into that latter part of the statement. Knowing how FSU recruits, I honestly find it hard to believe the out of state kids would have had a real FSU offer. That said, I know there is a difference between what is called a "commitable offer" and a general offer.

Didn't that kid miss half a dozen extra points this year?

That said, I agree that scout's rankings are garbage (unless they rank Auburn higher than rivals in 2011).

He had a rough spot the first couple games. But he still had a good number of touch backs and great FG range. In HS he kicked nearly everything out of the back of the endzone on kickoffs and hit a bunch of 50+ yarders. He had offers from FSU, LSU, USC, Notre Dame, and a bunch of others.

The Rivals evaluation was that he had been the best HS kicker in years, but K's max out at 3* because of their limited role.

Looking back at Rivals rankings, the last time a K had a 4* rating was 2002 when a bunch did. Since then though no K has been higher than 3*.
