Auburn picks up a verbal from Sweet Water, AL LB Chris Landrum. Landrum, a lifelong Bammer fan, chose Auburn over offers from Tennessee and Bammer.

    Nice pickup for AU.

Yeah it's pretty big, he's was considered an "LSU Lock". There's a lot of time til' signing day but in the meantime they're hating this.

Much like the Gerry Dinardo years at LSU...

Not only is LSU starting to lose more and more games on the field, but that steel curtain they had around Louisiana for their top recruits is starting to show some holes now too.

Trovon Reed and Bradley Sylve are both big time players that normally would be LSU locks leaving the state.

I remember FSU made a living back in the 90s off of raping Louisiana of their top players. Guys like Warrick Dunn, etc.

FSU also got Travis Minor when he was the #1 player in America from Louisiana. Right now FSU is after a RB who is a current LSU commit.

Ohio DT Michael Bennett makes it official and commits to the Buckeyes. He's an absolute monster on both sides of the ball but he'll be a DT for the Scarlet and Gray, he's 6-3 275 pounds as of right now and is considered one of the top DT's in the entire nation.

Chose OSU over offers from Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, Michigan State, and many others.

                  Oh snap.

Bradenton, FL RB Mike Blakely says Auburn is his clear leader over Clemson and Florida State.

                  Come on down Mr. Blakely.

"I love Auburn," he said. "That's a true running back school and that's all they run is the power run game. When I went there I fell in love with the coaches there. They were all so nice and the players were all nice, too. They have a nice campus and the whole deal is nice."
Honestly...with the laundry list of former Auburn tailbacks and fullbacks who not only made it to the NFL, but started and starred in the NFL, RB should be the easiest position to recruit to AU year in year out.

I want this kid. Blakely has offers from Miami, Florida, FSU, Michigan, Iowa, Tennessee, Clemson, etc. Explosive back with a similar build to Dyer....short, stocky, powerful.

                    Nike Camp Stuff:

                    Wilder Shows Versatility

There aren't too many players at the high school level more physically impressive than athlete James Wilder (Tampa, Fla./Plant). Wilder took on the challenge of playing a new position and impressed enough to earn LB MVP honors.

"I was planning to work out with the running backs or the defensive linemen," Wilder said. "I decided to with the linebackers but was still going to move over to the lineman for the one-on-ones, but I loved working with the 'backers, and we developed some great camaraderie right away.

Tide Commitments show their stuff at Nike Camp

One might expect a Nike camp in Tuscaloosa to feature at least a few highly placed Alabama commitments, and Class of 2011 pledges D.J. Pettway and Hasean Clinton-Dix didn't disappoint.

Pettway, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound defensive end from Pensacola-Catholic, won defensive line MVP honors at the camp, which featured more than 300 players from all over the South.

Clinton-Dix, a 6-2, 195-pound safety from Orlando-Dr. Phillips, also had an impressive camp with good cover skills and physical play. "He has a long, lean body that can add weight, he covers a ton of ground as a free safety but he has the ability to line up at corner and match up well with wide receivers," Rivals.com's Barton Simmons wrote.
Another defensive back targeted by the Tide but currently leaning toward Auburn, Leeds cornerback Jonathan Rose (6-1, 180), also reportedly turned heads with rare skills for a player his size.

Well we know it's not Hilliard. And if it's not Hilliard, you can have 'em.

And Les Miles would like to extent an extra big "**** You" to Tigerdroppings for the fall of that curtain. The guys read the boards, and the negativity that's being spewed. Im sure you guys go there to get laughs, but it's morbid for kids my age thinking where it's going to be in 2-3 years. I'd like to kick a few of those guys in the balls.

Rivals finally releases their rankings next week, and Barton Simmons gave the 5-star breakdown the other day.

                        5 offense, 5 defense, 1 athlete.

A couple of them are blatantly obvious (Wilder, Jernigan, Clowney), but it's hard to guess the rest.

Look for the nation's top QB, Braxton Miller, to commit to the good guys in the next couple of weeks.

In other news, Phillip Rivers little brother, Stephen Rivers out of Alabama is becoming quite a target. Despite the belief Nick Marshall is FSU bound, FSU offered him earlier this week, adding to a long offer sheet.

Scout is the only one of the 3 major recruiting sites (Rivals, Scout, ESPN) that has ranked thier players by position thus far, and Braxton is the #1 QB.

I've played against Lemay... he's a great QB and top 5 in the nation IMO but he also has one of the most talented teams in the entire nation, whereas Braxton does not. Lemay obviously has the better numbers, but many feel Braxton is the better prospect.
