Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Lately whenever someone doesn't go to Auburn or drops Auburn from their list, it is because Auburn backed off to pursue players they had "higher" on their list.
----------------------------------------------
FSU commitment Cortez Davis switched his commitment back to Clemson. Honestly though I don't think this kid knows the difference between the word commitment and the word leader. I bet this happens again at least one more time before NSD, so until then this kid doesn't exist for me to follow. It's unknown if FSU will continue to pursue him (Fisher hates kids who play games) at this time or will move onto someone else on their board. Davis does have Antonio Cromartie type skills so he will suck to lose but we'll see come NSD. Ultimately I still think if he wants to he ends up at FSU due to family reasons (in that he already has at least one kid and many believe at least one more).Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
On Jones?
Long story short, Jones is a big Alabama fan. They wouldn't offer before seeing him in camp. Auburn offered well before that and he warmed up to them since he felt as if Alabama was shunning him. He camped at Alabama, got the offer he'd been waiting on. He's Alabama's to lose.
Short story even shorter, if/when Alabama offered he was ours to lose.Twitter

Although that's true, I actually just thought the kid was being sarcastic because that's what a lot of fans (Bama's included) say when their team loses out on a recruit. Thought he was trying to be funny because there's no way he could believe that.PS: You guys are great.

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
And this...in a nutshell...is the world of recruiting.
18 year old kids have a tendency to go from hot to cold, etc. in a millisecond.
"I love this school. I'm all but committed."
5 minutes later...
"I'm commiting to ABC University!!"
2 weeks later....
"Well...I'm still committed..but I'm opening my recruitment back up. But I'm still kind of committed".

Would have been nice to get all 3 of the top DBs in the state, but AU should still land the top 2 in Rose and Florence.
Got to love recruiting.AUBURN TIGERS

A couple of weeks ago I had written him off as a heavy Bama lean, but it seems as though the tide has turned and OSU has really stepped up their efforts and supposedly jumped into the lead here.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Here is a Nice story from the NY Post about a kid who fell through the proverbial football cracks, had a Monster NY all star game, then got a scholarship offer from Syracuse
The physically imposing yet extremely mobile and explosive Bromley is a success story. He had zero organized football experience before he landed at Flushing and nearly quit the team after his first training camp because there was too much work involved. His mother, Francis Nimmins, convinced The Post’s All-City first team selection to stick it out if the amount of work was the only thing getting in the way of his newest pursuit...
"That kid was unstoppable," Boomer Esiason said that night. Esiason hoped the performance would open a few eyes, and it did. Several coaches from the game called colleges they were familiar with, and Syracuse pounced on Bromley first.
Penn State and Rutgers were involved, but didn’t offer a scholarship. Bromley became the latest standout to commit to the Orange, joining a class that includes Canarsie receiver Steven Rene, Xaverian linebacker Mario Tull, and Cardinal Hayes receiver Jermiah Kobena. Christ the King quarterback Terrel Hunt has already committed to Syracuse for the 2011.
