    Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread

Haven't really been keeping up with LSU's recruiting class lately, but a week or 2 ago LSU commit DT Anthony Johnson broke the LA state record of 60 career sacks which is rediculous for a DT imo kid is gonna be the real deal
Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, Lightning

4* OL Jordan Prestwood commits to Florida State, he is the 18th commitment so far for FSU. Tomorrow his close friend DE Aaron Lynch announces his decision and he will likely be the 19th commitment for FSU.

Aaron Lynch (Defensive End, Island Coast HS) Commits To Florida State - Tomahawk Nation

19th commitment of the year, Top 100 player by every service, 4* from Rivals and ESPN, 5* from Scout. Both he and Prestwood will be January enrollments and are expected to contribute as true freshmen. This is a monster class and FSU only really has big time targets left to go after such as O'Leary, Brissett, Maggitt, Ray Drew, and Tony Steward.

Damn. I was hoping he would be a Gator. It was down to FSU and Florida and I'm sure that the game on Saturday in The Swamp didn't put us in the best light. Even though he said his visit "went great".

I can see why, Lynch is a man child at 6'6, 260 lbs. He projects to play at about 280-290 once in Vic Viloria's S&C program. As a Nole fan I'd like to thank Notre Dame for the 2 ESPNU 150 players in the past 24 hours

In perhaps more bad news for the Gators, I heard if Meyer fires their QB coach then Jeff Driskell would reopen his recruitment. With Coker and (very likely) Brissett on board I don't see FSU going after Driskell if he left, but Miss. State or Auburn could be scary destinations for his skill set.

In good news for Auburn, TE Brandon Fulse may as well just go public with his commitment, it's over and has been for a while. Only thing I think is holding it up is just confirming Nick O'Leary is FSU bound.

I would be pissed if Driskel decided not to come to Florida for whatever reason. He is a superb passer with very good speed. He sounds like he would be a great fit for the spread option attack we really haven't seen out of Florida this year.

For the Auburn croot experts, what was the reason that Izauea Lanier and Auburn have split ways? He is at a position of need for us and I know he is not part of your '11 class. Just wondering what the story is on him.

Not surprised by this but an incredible pick up. Wish we could get some big names, maybe the ones that want to go to FSU but don't get in.

Miami has a commitment from Rashad Greene's less heralded teammate, that count?

In bad news for the Canes I've heard Teddy Bridgewater is likely LSU bound. If that is the case, I bet Steven Rivers is no longer LSU bound since I don't think they'd pass on the Mettenberger (sp).

Whatever happened to the Canes pipeline at St. Thomas Aquinas?

Bridgewater reminds me of Jacory so if he leaves, then that makes it good news. The way Morris is playing for Miami right now, the future looks great.

Plus I read somewhere that Marquise Williams might decommit from UNC and Miami is his second choice.

I've heard he's probably not going to qualify, and their are other guys on our board that will.

Stephen Rivers had a pretty good year this year in HS. The team sucked and went 6-6 loosing in the second round of the playoffs, but I have seen him a few times this year and that kid has a cannon for an arm.

Thanks, but isnt he scheduled to be an EE? I know it has more to do with Roberson and Therezie but I dont buy the grades issue. Thanks for your info though.

Well from what I've heard is Bridgewater wouldn't make any changes to his status until around or on signing day and Mettenberger plans to enroll early for spring practices so he'll make his decision fairly soon which would influence Bridgewater.

As long as Rivers is still a LSU commit I could careless which of the other 2 we get
