Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
And Sims was actually a big time RB recruit, he had offers from almost everyone. That said I'd compare JWJ more to Ernie Sims, in that he is a top level RB and LB prospect. Back in 2003 ES3 was the top overall recruit by virtue of being the top LB and #2 RB (behind Reggie Bush, the #2 overall recruit).Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
Anyone else think that with USC being on probation; Packaged along with their fair weather fans, shoddy coaching staff, and getting blown out for the second straight season by the Ducks, that Kelly and company could land one of George Farmer, Devon Blackmon, Marqise Lee, or Jason Gibson? Possibly the group. All of them sans Blackmon were in attendance at last nights beat down, and will be in Eugene next week for their game against Washington.Comment

4* DE Aaron Lynch decommited from Notre Dame this weekend. When he originally committed FSU was a close second and would be a very safe bet for who he'll sign with on NSD. If things go as planned with Jordan Prestwood this would be the second 4* caliber player FSU took from Notre Dame this cycle.Comment

Re: 2011 Recruiting Thread
I think it's funny how everyone hypes these 17 and 18 year old kids with "stars" and youtube videos, and then they go ND, FSU, (insert overrated program here) and then find out that their coaching staff is inept and they'll never contend for a BCS title.
I know some of these kids choose schools based on other things besides the football program they'll be playing for, but if I was a top HS player I'd never consider a school like ND or FSU because frankly, they always suck.
Does anyone know how many 5-star players Oregon used against USC on this last Saturday? I'll save you the trouble; zero. 99% of the time stars and high school accolades don't mean squat in college football. It's about having the best coaching staff when it comes to winning games.Last edited by Get Blunted; 11-01-2010, 07:22 PM.Comment

Miami Northwestern fires football coach after victory - Sports Breaking News - MiamiHerald.com
Wow things keep getting worse for Miami this year, but it might not be all bad for them as I've heard Brandon Harris' father is a lead candidate. Something had to have happened behind closed doors because even for a down year for MNW they are doing well. Not like you can a state title in Florida every year.....
Article also mentions that MNW QB, Miami commitment, Teddy Bridgewater hurt his knee and has missed the last 2 games. Any word on that?Comment

As for Bridgewater, I read he's taking 4 visits now but I could really care less. After watching him play in a game, he looks like Jacory. We need to look elsewhere.Last edited by slapnutz2k2; 11-02-2010, 03:16 PM.Comment

Word from the AU mods on rivals is that the Dee Hart to Michigan commit may not be set in stone.
Jeff Lee on Rivals says Auburn has a great shot of getting a switch from Hart.
I was surprised to see this, but it makes sense after Blakeley drug his feet and ended up choosing UF. Combine that with the season AU is having and how Rich Rod is starting to feel the wrath of the Michigan faithful again....and it could get interesting for Hart.AUBURN TIGERS
