Have to wonder if the Redd transfer will have a domino effect on some of the kids, especially the recruits. The majority have pledged to stay, but if the transfers and decommits begin to pile up, some of these other kids might decide to look elsewhere. The only thing is it's so close to the season that many will decide to stay regardless. It might not be until offseason 2013 that we see many of these underclassmen players transfer out.

USC transfer Kyle Prater is eligible to play at Northwestern this year. Prater was Rivals #3 player in the 2010 class. He will have 3 year left to play at Northwestern.

Re: Player Transfers Thread
This. I'd expect most of the guys to transfer after a season of reality really sets in. With the scholarship reductions and restrictions being what they are, losing 20+ players would potentially move Penn State to needing to cancel a season or two anyways or play them with a team made up of mostly walk-ons.Comment

Pretty big blow. Isn't he also their punter? PSU's special teams just took a major hit. Seems like a move possibly motivated by being closer to home than anything else.Comment

He did all of the kicking and punting at Psu. At UT he'll most likely only be kicking, since we were counting on a couple of walk on true freshmen to step up and kick. This is really good for Texas because we need all the points that we can get, so a hood kicker is a must.Texas Longhorns

OL Ryan Nowicki leaving Penn State for Illinois
Illinois made waves last week by sending eight assistant coaches to State College to try to lure Penn State players. The aggressive and controversial approach has yielded at least one Nittany Lion.
Offensive lineman Ryan Nowicki, a redshirt freshman guard, is transferring from Penn State to Illinois, colleague Scott Powers and others are reporting. Nowicki's departure from Penn State has been in the works for a little while, and the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Glendale, Ariz., native, reportedly was deciding between Illinois, Washington and Arizona State.Favorite Teams:

Thought you guys would enjoy this snippet from PSU's scout board re: Redd transfer
Redd.... THere is no way he is a future first round draft pick. We may experience addition by subtraction as I think Belton is better than Silas. It's my opinion that Silas knew Belton was better and ran from the future diminished role.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment
