It shouldn't be too stunning.

I'll find the report if I can, but O'Brien basically told him that he was not going to be the starter, that the other quarterbacks out there right now (not including Hackenberg) have more upside to them.

It would be shocking if it just came out of no where, but the reports are basically saying that O'Brien wanted him to get an opportunity somewhere else because he wasn't going to really get it here.

This next one isn't really a transfer, but Marvin Bracy is leaving FSU to pursue a pro track career. Bracy leaving FSU

Great speed, but there are some things he needs to work on track wise to compete at an elite level. I wish him luck.

Matthew Thomas wants to leave FSU

“I’ve told them it’s nothing personal. I just didn’t make the decision I really wanted to on Signing Day,” said Thomas, who picked the Seminoles over USC, Georgia and Miami.

“What happened was on Signing Day I wasn’t sure who I wanted to sign with. I had issues with different schools. But when I told my mom I didn’t want to sign with anybody and wait and give it a few days she said I couldn’t do that. She said, ‘FSU is a good school –- pick them. It’s close to home.’ I wasn’t agreeing with it. But I felt like I was being disrespectful to her if I didn’t sign. So I made her happy.”

According to Thomas, Florida State coaches have no plans to release him and will visit him at home in Miami to discuss the situation. The former five-star prospect from Booker T. Washington High now wants to choose between Georgia and USC.

I hope Jimbo and any other coach in this situation doesn't let these kids out of their LOI, recruiting is already enough of a circus. Once you sign it you should either play or deal with the transfer stuff.

Losing Bracy sucks as he'd have been probably one of these fastest in the NCAA, but with Shaw/Greene/Benjamin I think they'll survive from a playmaker standpoint.

I hope Jimbo and any other coach in this situation doesn't let these kids out of their LOI, recruiting is already enough of a circus. Once you sign it you should either play or deal with the transfer stuff.

Unfortunately you're probably right, Jimbo seems like a guy who's going to use his speed guys deep or on stupid little mid screen opposed to say a Darren Sproles, etc. type of speed guys.

Bracy would be a star at Oregon, at FSU he's a rotation player who would make very little impact. Same with kermit.

If Thomas wants to leave because Mommy made him choose too soon, then he can go. But he should sit. No way should the precedent be set that "Eh, I changed my mind, let me out of my LOI Coach." I know it will be tough because of the need to maintain strong recruiting relationships in the area, but this shouldn't open the door for future recruits to pull the same garbage with no consequences.
