One thing to keep in mind is that even with the Big Ten network, the Big Ten had the smallest payout per school among st the P5 last year. It wouldn't surprise me if they went 16 with an announcement next summer since they can start renegotiating their TV deals in starting in 2016

The Big 12 should've just taken WVU, TCU, Louisville, and Cincinnati and been done with it a few years ago. Now Louisville is untouchable and the other expansion targets aren't especially appetizing. The Big 12's lack of foresight will probably come back to bite them eventually. Will the conference survive another 10 years? I'm not so sure.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
If the Big 12 goes under in the next decade, I hope OU goes to the PAC-12. With that said, Oklahoma and Texas are not a package deal. I could totally see Texas doing something crazy like going independent or joining the SEC. It's more likely that OU stays with OSU than it is that they stay with Texas.
The possibilities of traveling out west to see the Sooners play UCLA, USC, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, Cal, etc. are very enticing. I goto Vegas once to twice a year so I could so this would be perfect. Travel out West and have a layover for a few days in Vegas. I would be planning trips for the fall every year.Last edited by BigDofBA; 09-27-2015, 10:42 PM.***My Teams***

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
get ready for it again. I think you start to see smoke in January again. Rumors I've heard out of Texas is that Big 12 presidents have been touring Cincy and Memphis this fall. A tad surprised that Houston doesn't have any political swing in this.Comment

You shouldn't be. If you think Texas is going to allow any more Texas schools in "their" conference, you're mistaken.Boston Red Sox

Different situation. Replacing TAMU with TCU allowed the conference to maintain the status quo. Adding UH would upset that balance. Besides, no one in that conference wants to see a hometown P5 program directly competing for Houston area recruits.Comment

Good point. I'm still surprised that Texas hasn't gone Indy with their fanbase. Is there anything politically keeping them in the Big 12?Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Unsure there are many options for them if they want to expand. For whatever reason they don't want to go West (maybe TV motivated) and take BYU and Boise. So you have Cincy and a choice of Memphis, UCF, and USF.Comment
