Re: A&M to the SEC starting to blow up again on Twitter

    Update:

Just wanted to bring some perspective of Texas "fans" and grads. Keep waiting for some evidence from you untrugby rather than your opinion.

I route for LSU to beat Texas A&M in their bowl game. wrong again.

However, I never root for OU ever for anything, for any reason. I would rather the SEC curbstomp OU every year for the next 20 years than for OU to ever win a national championship.

Of course, you never root for your biggest rival in anything.

Take Bleacher Report for what it's worth, but last year they did a Top 25 Rivalries thing, and they had UT/A&M four spots behind UT/OU, which they had at #2. The Aggie rivalry may be bigger to a select few in Texas, but to the entire college football world, the Red River Rivalry is as big as they come, up there with Michigan/OSU and Auburn/Bama.

                Oops...didn't see ZB9's post.
You're right. I wasn't clear, I meant as a conference rivalry. The Red-River Rivalry can still exist without them being in the same conference - it did for a long time. It's not the same kind of rivalry as a OSU/Mich or USC/UCLA where it's for conference dominance. They might not play for a few years at first, but I think they'd get back together down the road.

Plus, wouldn't it be kind of cool to see Texas/Oklahoma or Nebraska/Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl?

Btw, I read that Oklahoma and Nebraska are trying to work out at least a home and home, though it wouldn't be for a few years.

Look at any feature or list concerning top rivalries and it is always Oklahoma and Texas ahead of A&M and UT.

To me the fact that it wasn't a conference game for most of its history and it was the biggest game for either school shows that it is just downright dislike of each other. It is unique in its relationship in that all the other main rivals are in mostly in a conference and yet the rivalry was huge even when they were not in the same conference.

That's what I'm saying. You can choose whatever site or list you want, A&M/UT has not and is not bigger than Oklahoma/Texas. I just picked that one because it was the first one I clicked on that had them actually ranked.

Oh yeah, I got you, I was more responding to the person that said the bleacher report was garbage.

No offense but you have no idea what you're talking about. The Texas game is MUCH bigger than the OSU game to OU fans and it's not even close. Also the OU/Texas games in the 80's were just as big than they've been since the BCS.

As an OU alum, I concur. The Red River Shootout is on a completely different level than Bedlam.
