Clint Moseley will be the starter at QB and Emory Blake will play which is huge for AU considering Blake's playmaking ability at WR. Trovon Reed is also expected back at WR.
Obviously, LSU is and should be the heavy favorite. They are clicking on all cylinders and Jarrett Lee is playing very "un-Lee-like". Their defense is sick..plain and simple. AU hasn't won in Baton Rouge since my junior year at AU in 99.
Key to the game for AU...the passing game, the passing game, the passing game. Moseley is going to have to hook up with Blake/Lutz/Reed and make LSU pay for stacking the box, which they will most definitely do.
The Auburn punt and kick game is a huge weapon for AU in this one IMO. If Auburn can avoid giving LSU points via turnovers, LSU is going to have to go 60-80 yards to score given Clark's incredible punting and Parkey's propensity for touchbacks. That's big. The Auburn defense has done a complete 180 since the first 3 weeks of the season. Is it an elite defense? no. But it is vastly improved and if we keep playing like we have the last 3 weeks, it's playing well enough to give us a chance if the O can be effective.
I think LSU wins the game something like 27-13. I think it will be a one score game for most of the first half and 3rd quarter, but I do expect LSU to pull away late. I just don't see our passing game being effective enough against the LSU secondary.
If we can get some big passes, then we have a chance. Dyer is as good as any back LSU will face this year and O Mac is always deadly on the end arounds. If Moseley can support our ground attack with the pass, AU most definitely has a chance.
But I don't see it.
