Probably has to do with how weak the ACC is as a whole. You wouldn't think it would be that hard for one team to dominate it like USC did for the longest time in their conference.

Is it all FSU's fault? No but they were supposed to be the head honcho and have done nothing in quite a while.

I can agree with that. I just think some other teams should step up and shoulder the same amount of responsibility and blame. Every program has down stretches. When the vols and Gators were up, other teams were down. The gators slid the past couple of years, Bama, Auburn, LSU, USC stepped up. That's a large portion of a conference stepping up. It's not one team being counted on to make everyone else look good.

At wasn't directed toward you I just saw some Clemson fan claiming the sex has pursued Clemson many times but that is completely false. When south Carolina left Clemson was supposed to leave the acc as well. But it was to go independent (as USC did) not join any conference.

It's a lose-lose cause if they continued success they had over the last decade who knows if they don't bolt for an SEC(Barring of course it still was as great as it was in this scenario) invitation if it came.

Re: FSU was supposed to save the ACC instead it's killing it.

I support a move of fsu and Clemson to the big 12. This is all about money and the new tv contracts are going to make the acc's new one look like pocket change. I don't want to stay in the acc. How is recruiting going to fare when the acc can't get a team into the "playoff" due to SOS/rpi? It's going to fall.

It's a money move and I want out.

Next Logan Thomas has a high ceiling but I haven't seen anything except for the 2nd half against Miami to prove to me he can be that qb. I realize it was his first year though. That offense was mediocre. The thing vtech needs is speed. They don't have enough of it. Thomas doesn't seem to have the burst like newton did. So I don't see the comparison there. Ps get rid of mike o'cain he is terrible!

Clemson's offense is better than decent Chrisksaint. The offense is good. But that is all thanks to morris. Boyd isn't elite and never will be. People think he can create with his feet but he can't. He is soo damn slow (Thomas is a much better runner). He can't run the read option Morris wants to due to his lack of speed and making poor decisions. He isn't as good as he was the first 8 games but not as bad the last 4. He rest somewhere in between. He got lucky a lot last year. He should have had 3 picks against unc if they could have just caught the ball. He locks onto receivers and semmingly can't go through his progressions. If the first option is covered he either forces it or pulls his eyes down and watches as the crap ol allow a lineman to come in for pressure.

Clemson Fan to Clemson Fan here; Do you realize how much it would suck to be in the Big 12. Its a terrible idea as a whole. I would cost TONS for all those road games, and those road games would most likely end in a loss because of jet-lag and stuff. Do you realize how good we have it in the ACC? Were Top 3 in Football there Average in Basketball, and Top 2ish in Baseball/Track. Our Recruiting is going FANTASTIC (ex. Robert Nkemdiche, Elijah Daniels, and Dane Rogers) We have 14 conference titles, and 2 division titles in 3 years.

Plus there is the whole $20 Million exit fee.

If we went to the Big 12 our fan base would be non-existent, we would lose more, so our fan base at home would go away and we would be, at most, getting 50% of what we get in the ACC.

Not to mention we would lose the whole ACC vs SEC moneygrabber.

Oh and I made a mistake when Clemson was planning on being independent the SEC was going to invite them because it was cheaper, and Clemson decided to back out and stay in the ACC.

I love the ACC. I don't care that people say its weak. It really as weak as they say and you know it.

We're no SEC, and I'm happy about that. We have great academics and we are one of the 5 best all-around conferences, I'm happy we're here and hope it stays that way.

What does it really mean to be top 3 in this terrible conference though? The playoff format sucks for a team in the ACC. The terrible 9 game conference schedule hurts teams like FSU and Clemson with home games in odd years (for Clemson at least). Your logic behind the staying in the ACC is comparalbe to when Clemson fans don't want to get rid of coach x because he is a good recruiter.

The exit fee doesn't have to be paid at once. You can pay it over a period of time.

Clemson isn't average in basketball they are below average. The baseball team hasn't really been good since early 2000s and it is time for Leggett to GO.

What do you mean getting 50%?

How can you be happy not being the best conference in college football. While I don't think it is as strong as some make it out to be it is still the best. Academics be damned, I never watch a game and wonder what a guys GPA is. I don't care. This is about money and the ACC is getting left in the dust.

The ACC isn't terrible. Far from it.

Clemson's best chance of being nationally relevant and earning a playoff bid in this four-team format is in the ACC.

Agreed that the ACC is, on the surface, an easier-to-win league than, say, the B1G or the SEC. Specifically the word "terrible" is what I take strong objection to.

Specifically on Clemson, I'm of the opinion that the Tigers wouldn't be a relevant competitor on an annual basis in the SEC, and they'd have a helluva time trying to get through the traditional powers of the Big XII. They aren't a realistic target for the B1G so I'm not considering that conference.

Clemson has to go on a run of consistent excellence akin to that of Virginia Tech - the Hokies have enjoyed ten-win seasons every year since they joined the ACC - for me to begin to change my opinion.

Kinda weird, considering historically Clemson has been so much better. But for right now you're right. South Carolina has way more money and has dominated the rivalry, lately.
