Chip Kelly is leaving to become Raiders OC. Not overly surprising since there was a chance he wanted a NFL OC job last year. But, man are everyone leaving Ohio State after winning a chip

Chip is one of those coaches who just wants to coach. I feel a college HC has a more stressful demanding job than a NFL coach. There's so much you have to deal with when it comes to recruiting, dealing with donors, etc. It was crazy for a P4 HC in a seemingly good recruiting base to leave for coordinator position in the same conference. It feels like the only free time college coaches get are in the dead/quiet recruiting periods.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that trend continue like we saw last year when the BC HC leaving to be the Green Bay DC. NIL era and having to re-recruiting players every year. I'm all for players profiting off their NIL, but I don't care for seeing "Player X has agreed to a new deal to stay at the school". Either you adapt to the new era or get out

It really doesn't feel like National Signing Day. The Early Period and transfer window has completely drained the excitement out of the NSD

OSU promote Hartline to OC. Looking forward to seeing him as a Playcaller. I expect him to be P4 HC within next 2 years. He interviewed for the WVU job this offseason. With his WR reputation, he'll attract elite WRs and QBs as a HC

Stopped watching Hard Knocks a long time ago. But, I would be interested in watching a college version. Unlike the NFL, college teams are all for exposure. Good for recruiting

that should be interesting, apparently NFL teams were out because of what happened with the Giants and Saquon

as soon as BB got that job there were questions about how he'd mesh with college kids, welp, now we'll find out

I think those questions about how he'd mesh are silly, given his relationship with 24 year-old Jordan Hudson. If anything, his players can always see if coaches gf has any friends she can hook his players up with. And if coaches gf has/gets silicone implants, the show could retitle to Hard Knockers.

Incoming Pitt Freshman CB Mason Alexander was sadly killed in a car accident Saturday night. He was a 4* recruit, was going to enroll early and start spring practice later this month. From the little bit I saw of him on signing day and doing media recently, he seemed like a good kid with a promising future. He was only 18 man, way too young. RIP and prayers to his friends and family.

Just seems weird to intentionally hire an interim coach, especially with not much college experience.

Eh, it's just Stanford GM Andrew Luck (former Stanford QB) doing a favor for his former NFL head coach (former Stanford QB).

What's weird is the wording makes it seem like they aren't doing a search until *after* next season. If I were them, I'd be putting some research in over the next year, not waiting a year.

Yeah, a weird situation all around. Moving on from the other coach definitely had to happen considering the allegations. But, hearing a NFL coach to be an intentional interim HC is odd. Reich contract will only be 7-8 months, so literally until the end of season. He will not interview for Full Time position. Which to me says, Luck is doing his former HC a favor. Reich obviously wants to continue to coach. Him not interviewing for Full Time spot, says that he doesn't want to stay at the college level. He seems like the type that wants another NFL HC job, but doesn't want to drop back down to a OC. I get it. When some finally become "in charge", it's hard to go back to being 2nd in command. He's only 63, so he's not too old. But, I don't see him flipping being an interim HC at Stanford to being a NFL HC again. He'd have to win 8+ games. I see him having to be a NFL OC again. But, I don't think he interviewed this offseason. I thought he would've been good option for the Eagles OC given that him and Sirrani are close

Yeah it doesn't make sense to wait to do a search. Reich already knows he's in a one and done situation, so it shouldn't be a distraction. What's the worse that can happen, you find your target early and hope he stays available. At the very least, either hire a search firm like others do or spend this year doing research and trying to work with AD in making this a more desirable job
