It's possible, but Baylor will be playing a lot better competition soon. I want to see them play teams with a pulse before I start getting *too* excited. It's clear BU is going to be a contender year in and year out under Briles though. Crazy to believe considering how far they came from.

Well you have to think that last year, they played basically the same level of competition across the board, and came within 3 TDs of the record.

The trend seems to be to pick us in an upset or get stomped into the ground by OU. Talent-wise, I think we're at least on par with, if not better than, West Virginia and TCU of last year. Teams that lost by 9 and 3 respectively in Norman last year.

Serious question: Is Oklahoma really that much better this year than it was last year?

I've already said I expect us to lose by two touchdowns. I think Oklahoma is just too good for us right now. But I'll be pretty disappointed in the Vols if another Oregon-like beat down happens Saturday night.
A couple of reasons. Last year was a rebuilding year around Norman, and those two games (WVU and TCU) were both early in the year when the lineups were quite different vs. at the end of the year. There were some signs of the team that exists now, but the 3-4 hadn't been fully implemented nor had the current offensive scheme, there was still a lot of soul searching around the program about where it was heading.

Second, the way last year ended with 10+ point wins at Kansas State, at Oklahoma State, and vs. Alabama were when the program turned it around. So anyone with some familiarity with the program can see this team is actually quite good and with the schedule being what it is, expectations are rather high.

Around here, I think most people don't really know how good OU is just yet -- but tomorrow will mark the start of a stretch of games where we'll know a lot more about them.

Yeah, just they were a different team last year vs. this one. We need to see them play some good teams before we start talking about that. Just too early as they seem to have not skipped a beat but they also haven't been tested.

Oklahoma changed their offensive schemes ? I must have missed that when I was away from society from Nov-Jan.

Turns out Florida's Orange Out is all a ruse. They're only oranging out the crowd, the team is wearing the normal uniforms.

They did during the season last year, was a work in progress the entire year (ditto for defense). Team playing in September was nothing like the team playing at the end of November and definitely nothing like the team playing in January.

Not a good start for VT. Down 14-0 early to ECU. Ultimate letdown/trap game.

WVU so far outclassing Maryland at every turn. 14-0 with :17 to go in the first. The Fighting Holgersons look much better than last year.

GSU vs GT is my underrated game of the week, the teams aren't that good but there's going to be some cool option plays and interesting touchdowns.

VT getting routed…21-0 and VT doesn't even have a first down.

This is turning into a yearly event for VT…pull off a stunner and then lay a clunker.
