I feel like this "Civil Rivalry" is the funniest thing to happen to college football this year, I love it. The whole "Rivalry" just seems like something a 12 year old UCONN fan created on NCAA football, I can just see him in in basement playing on his Xbox and bumming out that UCONN doesnt have a rivalry game. So he goes into the new "Create a rivalry" mode and makes one, Spends about 2 minutes creating a trophy and voila! The Civil Rivalry is born!

Re: Week 6 Discussion
USC is in full Sark mode. Unprepared & undisciplined. If Washington had any offense they would be up 21-3 with the field position they had in the first quarter."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Week 6 Discussion
Well for UConn he did not get along with our incompetent AD at the time. The feeling was he was looking to jump his last few years at UConn. I also think he felt a school of Maryland's stature was about the biggest jump he could make from UConn, he wasn't getting any consideration for the bigger jobs at the time compared to a guy like Schiano. And while he deservedly got mocked for calling Maryland his dream job, he does have some connections to them.
I believe Maryland wanted to clean up their program, and for that he's a good hire. Winning games against good competition? Mediocre.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Haden & Sark can't go fast enough. Haden fired Kiffin just to hire someone who is basically Kiffin with a friendlier personality."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Week 6 Discussion
I'm not going to pretend like I know more than college coaches because I don't, but didn't seem like USC had some very questionable playcalling?
Also, they didn't look prepared like you said. That's on the coaching staff.***My Teams***
NCAA - Oklahoma Sooners
MLB - St. Louis Cardinals
NFL - Dallas Cowboys
NBA - Oklahoma City ThunderComment

Re: Week 6 Discussion
That's just par for the course with this coaching staff. Passing game was terrible from the start. So naturally we should throw some more even though we were averaging almost 7 yards a pop on the ground.
Sark is no 12-6 with 4 of those losses as a double digit favorite. He(and his coordinators) make absolutely no halftime adjustments during games.
We still have to play @ND, Utah, @Cal, Arizona, @Oregon & UCLA. That USC team from last night may win 1 or 2 of those games if lucky."This is for all of my peoples who understand and truly recognize. Some won't get it and for that i won't apologize"- Talib KweliComment

Re: Week 6 Discussion
Move over, Goldie. I'm putting Sark on the hot seat my damned self. When I was a wee lad, SC was at the height of its powers. My second year in high school we fielded one of the best defenses Carroll had, maybe the best BCS era squad not to win a title. As Biggie would say, **** done changed...
I wanted Petersen. He's mucking around in Seattle but found a way to beat us. I wanted Sumlin. He got an extension. Now we've got seven win Steve.
SC is like Miami, like Texas, like Michigan or Florida. You don't have to work hard to win there. You have your pick of the best recruits in your state. Just get out the way and let the talent win. Don't throw the ball when you're only down six while your QB has thrown two picks and you have dope running backs.
Coach O wasn't sophisticated, but the defense wasn't soft under him. Granted last night's problem was not soft defense. The defense only allowed 17. Considering how futile the offense was, that's actually next to incredible. Right now I'm trying to figure out where the other four wins are coming from. Notre Dame ain't bout to roll over for this next week.
And we come into the season overrated seemingly just because folk want to see us fall. Nothing I saw last year showed me this was gonna be a top ten squad, and nothing I've seen yet this year either. Losing to Stanford after pasting Sun Belt squads didn't surprise me. Losing to UW at home after smacking around ASU in Tempe? This I cannot understand.
Ugh
