In his defense, he was grabbed by the fan first who then got up in his face. Not a good look trying to hit him (especially after spitting on the the Block O in pre-game and throat slashing fan so on the sidelines after his INT), but that was disgraceful by the fan. Glad OSU assistant Kerry Coombs was there to prevent it from escalating.

Re: Week 13 Discussion
It's dangerous, and stupid, especially when your ranked and you beat a ranked opponent lol. Maybe you could make a claim if you won a title.
But still it's dangerous, and you don't know what a bunch of drunk idiotic fans will do.

Re: Week 13 Discussion
I got to rush the field when LSU beat Ole Miss in 2014 and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
What Clemson does is stupid. What Ohio State did today was not, especially with all the variables.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 11-26-2016, 07:39 PM.Boston Red Sox

Re: Week 13 Discussion
I tried to avoid commenting on Jabril Peppers lack of interceptions all year long because I figured it would be poetic justice for him to pick off JT Barrett. And it happened.
But this game pretty much confirmed my thoughts on him. He's an electrifying athlete when he gets the ball in his hands, and is able to play a vast number of positions well. He's the most versatile player in the nation. But I just don't think he's elite at any of them defensively. He's a liability in coverage, and really struggled down the stretch and it resulted for some of the biggest plays of the game for OSU as a direct result. Barrett's long run to set up the GW FG and then the touchdown in the first overtime are two that stand out.
Frankly, I think his talent has been wasted not getting the ball in space. I think he could've been a star offensively in a role similar to that of Curtis Samuel/Percy Harvin/Denard Robinson. Whenever he touches the ball, you just hold your breath.
Once again, I think he's a good player, and easily the most versatile player in the country. You can probably count on one hand how many players can be effective at DE/LB/S/RB/WR/QB. I just think he's not elite defensively, but offensively he could've been an absolute terror getting the ball in his hands, in space, and could've been that difference maker Michigan needed on that side of the ball.
Physically, Peppers is a 1st round NFL draft pick. Mentally, it was probably too much to ask Peppers to be responsible for so many positions/calls/plays etc. People forget they only have so much practice time and Peppers is not a pro, but a student. Having Peppers thinking so much about assignment football and having so many responsibilities has noticeably slowed his aggression down. That he's still managed his very good tackle and TFL numbers among other stats is a testament to his athleticism.
Certainly Peppers has little business being ranked among the Heisman front runners, but he's been a key cog in what could statistically be the best defense in the country. Hard to know how much the unit would've suffered for putting Jabrill on offense full time. Also hard to know if the benefit to the offense would've offset that drop off.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: Week 13 Discussion
agreed, but I haven't had the chance to storm a field before, but I've stormed a couple basketball courts and it was great.Comment

In a perfect world, if fans behaved, it wouldn't be a big deal, but of course we don't.

Re: Week 13 Discussion
I think storming the field has a time and a place. With how OSU has dominated the W/L aspect going back a decade or so, you'd figure their fans would act like they've been there before. Knocking off a ranked team as a huge underdog? Storm away! Holding serve in a 2-3 matchup? Not so much. Maybe the fans just felt an underdog mentality with the way they were behind the whole game until the end.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment
