Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
Cmon patch 2, get here soon. I tried to play the game this weekend, and it just wasnt fun. It has its moments, but its mainly in play now, any sort of sustained dynasty loses its fun for now. Im usually 5 seasons deep at this point, right now, im currently 3 games in.
Adam, do you get any notice from Sony or MS on how the patch is coming, or do they maintain radio silence.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
If EA Sports had some competition I guarantee there wouldn't be near as many bugs. Since they have the only football game in town these days, college and pro, they have gotten careless and sloppy with their work and put out subpar versions knowing that consumers will buy it to get their football fix. They also use consumers as scapegoats by finding out from us what is wrong with the game and then they patch it instead of thoroughly testing it themselves. I've never been a fan of 2K football games and have been loyal to EA Sports football throughout the years, but I wish that 2K had a pro and college game to compete with EA Sports now to see if they would actually produce a quality game.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
When a team gets a delay of game penalty, the game clock continues to run. Therefore, if you get the ball and the lead, run a play to start the clock. then take a delay of game penalty over and over until the clock runs out. Of course, if you are in the 1st or 3rd quarter, you will have to run a second play to start the clock running in the 2nd or 4th quarter, but you then just keep taking penalties until the half or game ends. The PSP version seems to work correctly, stopping the game clock, but the PS3 keeps the game clock running. The reports are that the xBox 360 version has the same issue as the PS3.
Nobody left from the 2000 version, eh?

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
I dont feel too bad for PS3 people bc the first patch doesnt touch gameplay and unless they plan on re-doing all rosters, only a few people get benefit of it (although they cant get started on new rosters)Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
I want it for the depth chart reordering bug fix. I'll go in sometimes to make some corrections, mid-season in my dynasty, such as number changes or equipment changes (rarely), and have to redo the depth chart. This gets especially annoying with the returners.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
Adam, has anyone identified the defense formation bug? Its the same as last year where even when I select 3-4 defense in my coaching strategy, it still comes up 4-3 when I go to my game and I always have to change it. I think you guys list Bama as having a base 4-3 defense as well. I'm not sure if the cpu is just automatically making some teams 4-3 when they should be a 3-4.
By default, your profile is looking at Team Specific for playbooks. I believe this pulls from the Team database on the disk, not the dynasty database on your memory card. What you might want to do is go My NCAA > My Settings > User > Preferences and set your default playbooks there to what you have in Coach Strategy and you won't have to change them every time.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
I believe what you are talking about isn't actually a bug. What you set in coaching strategy is saved to the dynasty file and will be used when simulating games. However, once you hit the team select screen it will load your playbook options from your profile, not from dynasty coaching strategy (this is because this screen is shared amongst game modes).

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
I'm not an expert on the rules or what have you, but from what I can tell the issue was identified but we didn't fix it because this only happens if you are losing. If you have the lead, it doesn't happen.
Bascially, you can't take a lead and then take delay of games to run out the clock and exploit the game.
Is this the official rule? I don't know... but it sounds wonky to me. But fortunately this can't be used as an exploit from what I can tell.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #1 Available
I use the Clemson playbook for offense and I thought it was automatically defaulting to their defensive playbook (4-3) as well. It would be nice if I changed my default defensive playbook to 3-4 in the Coaching Strategies section that it would work as well though. I will go to these setting tonight. Thanks.Comment
