Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Anyone notice that the controller responsiveness is much better playing on All-American than on Heisman?
I think the button/R-Stick responsiveness while playing on AA is much better than Heisman. After playing about 15-17 games on Heisman and 5 or 6 on AA, I really feel that Heisman has more of a stiff feel to it. Maybe the difficulty won't let you pull off or chain together moves as quickly or whatever, but that's what I am seeing.
FYI - I am on PS3.
I absolutely love the demo though."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

I'm liking the demo..
I found a glitch though, I hope its fixed. When you return a kick-off (it was on AA & varsity) the other team celebrates and cheerleaders get happy.Texas Longhorns

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
has anyone figured out how to play pass defense, geesh? I mean if robo qb was bad last year, its horrible this year. I have been alternating between the teams and i cant seem to get any pressure on the qb or play pass defense. I know florida probably has the best defense on the game but i cant stop bradford for nothing. Every game its 16-17 for 200-300 yds and its just 2 min quarters. I kinda miss the super dbs and lbs b/c there coverage sucks now. If u r not standing completely on top of the guy he will catch it. Last year the cpu never threw it deep, they just threw short passes which was hard enough to stop but now they can complete the long pass with ease as well as the short passes. Maybe its b/c both qbs are highly rated but these guys are lighting it up. When u do get some pressure(rarely) the qb just dumps it off to a short route. HELP?(playing on heisman)Comment

If you unplugged the cord from your console like it sounds like you did then you won't be downloading. That cord is your link to the internet.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I've been trying to get into the demo, but it just isn't fun. I'm tired of EA's arcade-ish crap. The NCAA team clearly has no unified vision for where they want this series to go, and as a result we get a giant melting pot of gimmicky features, strange ideas and minor gameplay modifications (several good, several bad). The current team clearly has very little interest in creating a realistic football sim, or relatively simple things like player momentum, pass speed, blocking schemes would all be EXCELLENT this far into the current gen. And yet they are all complete crap. They have either been ignored or intentionally kept in their current state as a way to separate NCAA from Madden and attract a certain type of customer (hint: not the OS crowd).
There are the super optimists who will take this game and find all the positives they can, and have plenty of fun with it. That's fine. With the right attitude and imagination, a pile of ardvark **** can be fun to play with. But the realists should see clear as day by this point that the NCAA team is not only failing to bring us a more realistic college football game, but they seem to have very little interest in even trying to. And this far into the series, that's pretty sad.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
After playing a few games of the demo I'm going to have to say that I prefer the gameplay and animations (ESPECIALLY the latter) of 10 to 09. Running is still robotic but many of the new tackling and bobbling animations more than make up for it. IMO, the CPU, at least from what I've seen, doesn't make the boneheaded decisions it made on both sides of the ball last year (I haven't seen a HB run out of bounds on his lonesome or defenders completely taking the wrong angles on a ballcarrier to set up a big gain). Stuff just feels tighter and more organic overall IMO.
Not too crazy about the recycled stuff, though. We need a new commentary team next year, I swear I'm still hearing lines from NCAA 2002. Additionally, this game needs a bit more immersion, not only from the commentary front but from cutscenes or "little things" that enhance the overall experience. The crowd chants, custom music and stadium noise can only do so much.
To be honest I'm still on the fence. Dynasty Mode gets the bulk of my time so if I feel it isn't worth it, the game will go back to the store before Madden even releases.Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment

All American once again is a joke and to easy to do anything on offense.. hb screens are money plays all day on all american
Heisman makes you play smart as oppose to all american which you can do as you please just like all ncaa games in the past
key to heisman is to keep your finger off the turbo...moves are smoother and better if you dont use turbo...turbo is the devil in ncaa and maddenComment

Personally, I didnt like the demo at all. For me, it hasnt changed in years. Not the basic gameplay anyway. For a kid this may be fun, for a 31 yr old looking for a realistic feel, not very fun at all. Hopefully one day football games can be fun again.

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I think the Demo is fine, but there's a lot of stuff we don't know, such as what a game looks like in the daytime! It basically feels like they morphed the atmosphere of Madden '09 into the gameplay of NCAA '09, and gave it a few more animations and tweaks. Fundamentally, the game doesn't play significantly different, though it is nice to see receivers LOOKING for the ball.
One thing I was interested to see was if the line play had changed, but I don't think it has.
Question: Do they still have that stupid "Finesse Move"/"Power Move" thing now for a D-lineman, or do you ONLY use the R stick to disengage or activate some other pre-canned move to elude a blocker?Comment
