Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

Just got my hands on this thing yesterday and to anyone who says it plays like 09 please pass whatever illegal substances you're currently taking over to me. Love the game, the only things I don't like are simliar to what others have said. Pass rush which slider improvements should help. repetitive tackle animations which we've been told have been removed from. Also, the only time i didn't like the camera is when the cpu QB scrambles made it difficult to following the play, but i think it's something i'll eventually get used to.

Anyone one else notice that controller mapping looks to be back? I went into the controller screen and when I tried to change the settings it said "available in retail" this is big for those of us with broken RB/throw away buttons.

But I actually like the touch passing this year. You can lead players more, and you can throw a bullet pass, a nice touch pass or a true lob. Pass sensitivity looks better this year.

Oh I like the pass sensitivity too, but the lob throw doesn't really feel like a lob. It might be slower than a bullet pass but it's still too fast.

Another question I have is will the player lock with the camera switch on defense be in Madden? This is a huge addition to me and has made playing cornerback so much more fun.

I'm cool as far as playing D goes.

This camera angle is going to be the death of me on offense though.

I hope there is a "classic cam" option in the retail version.

I need better depth of field if the game is still going to move this fast. I cant read a thing.

QB Accuracy has always decreased throw power in past version's and I see it being the same this year.

There are NO new sliders this year for NCAA. Any talk of a separate slider for throwing power vs accuracy (great idea) will have to be for NCAA 11. Same goes for fumble and injury sliders.

Check out this youtube video of NCAA 10 vs. NCAA 09 which has the two games side by side. I might post this is a new thread for others to see (sorry in advance if it's already out there).

It is the same game. Who would have ever thought EA would have just changed the number at the end of their NCAA Football title? Color me shocked

Until they fix the OL/DL for run and pass blocking, specifically run blocking, I cannot get this game. This is probably the biggest problem I have with the game, the second probably being the overall game speed, and the third being the running/momentum feel of the game.

doesnt feel like the same game. Sorry but just basing things off video is not good enough. Its about how the game feels when you play it. I'm not saying it feels a whole lot different or better but i do feel the difference. I'm enjoying the demo more and more as long as all those hiccups are fixed by release (snap over Qbs head, too many injuries, etc) and although i'm still not a fan of the camera, i think i'm going to enjoy NCAA 10 while i did not enjoy NCAA 09 at all.

Those saying theres no pass rush, i dont know what game you're playing. I am constantly being pressured (on heisman, i'm Florida) by the cpu and i can get good pressure on Bradford. I've noticed using the player lock as the LB/DB on blitzes really helps a lot although i try not to use it when i'm the DL. Sucks theres no button to pump up the crowd anymore (bring back camera shake in '11).

But ive been getting some good games and i think this game will be ok, not great, not terrible, but good.

Anyone else notice that Corso suggests the same 4-6 plays on offense most of the time. I know they got linked plays and setup plays in there but he's always suggesting the same plays. I liked using the Ask Corso feature because it gave me a certain number of plays to just look at and pick rather than having to take all that time to go through the formations and find something i want before getting a penalty.

totally agree with everything you said except this. pump up the crowd is there you push forward on the RS stick as opposed to pushing down like in previous versions. you probably haven't noticed it because UF is technically the away team and it's only something the home team can do.

For me, I didn't see anything in this demo that impressed me. Nothing stands out the way I expect the Madden demo to stand out to me. The best part of this demo for me was the marching band. I'm gonna skip on this game this year.
