EA does the same thing every year. Last year it was Windsocks and camera flashes. Also team specific end zones in bowl games. Then the hefty stuff came out later.

Bitches be crazy about not getting enough "gameplay" info but its the same thing NCAAF has done every other year.

Re: Anyone else not excited about NCAA 12?

I really liked NCAA 11, after I found the right set of sliders it was like playing a whole new game.

I have high hopes for NCAA 12, and I hope that they do add features that I'm craving (deeper dynasty, revamped recruiting, more player faces, fully editable rosters, create a prospect templates, coaching carousel).

It has just been a couple weeks now since new info has been released and I just hope they aren't waiting another 2 weeks until Mark Ingram gets announced as the cover athlete to give us something else to get excited about.

I really just wish there was a schedule for when announcements would happen...

NCAA 11 may be the version of this game that has most polarized this community. Many(myself included) feel as if they made a lot of positive strides with the game, and feel optimistic about the upcoming version.

Others are incensed by the inability of the development team to address many longstanding issues with the game, and by some of the design decisions they choose to implement.

We all know that there is going to be an endless number of gripe threads as more information comes out and the game gets closer to release, but I just hope that those who aren't happy with what they hear can allow a few threads of positivity to exist without feeling obligated to set us misguided folk straight.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Anyone else not excited about NCAA 12?

NCAA 11 was a gigantic leap in Gameplay. It wasn't perfect, but it was great. What I'm hoping for is for them to perfect the gameplay, similar to what The Show has done. I would be okay waiting for Coaching Carousel one more year if it meant we got even better gameplay this year. Madden made the mistake of leaving its gameplay alone last year, and I found no real reason to play it.

I know EA knows how much everyone would love a CC but I also know that unless they do it the right way there will be more complaints than ever. We've been begging for it for years, so I'm positive they know how much it would be to the consumer. I'll be interested to see how they address it.

As with any game, when I do not hear something of substance until 2 or 3 months before the game comes out, it tells me that the people that made it are not very excited about it. Again, I am not advocating that we get every detail this week, but something that makes the community say, "oh my god, finally". I am sorry, but dreads do not count, I would play with all bald players as long as it felt like an actual football game and not something I drop a quarter in at the local arcade. Also, as for everyone not being excited just over the graphics update, in all honesty, graphics are only good for about the first week or first season you play. What really keeps people interested and coming back even after football season is the gameplay itself. Time, and time again the developers manage to listen to some of the big graphical complaints, but never really do anything about gameplay. I have said it before, you may be living in a mansion, but what is that mansion worth when there is no foundation?
You hit it right on the head. When a game like Battlefield 3, Halo, Elder Scrolls, Gears of War, Fallout, hell pretty much every game releases info, its usually gameplay improvements, NEW features things like that. They try to get hype and outline why people should spend money on that game.

EA should just come out and play a full dynasty week and give a commentary pointing out whats new with recruiting and dynasty, maybe edit a few players and do stuff us dynasty players do. That, to me, will warrant a purchase a new copy of the the game instead of getting it at Gamestop for 30% off.

I'm not all that excited about 12 because Mass Effect 3 comes out this year, Gears 3, Battlefield 3 and many other games I'd rather spend time with and not get frustrated with.

Re: Anyone else not excited about NCAA 12?

Were their leaps in gameplay in NCAA 11, eh, I can't really decide.

On one hand, the offense got a major overhaul and kinda works.

                1) Major problems still in the offense are slow developing read plays that allow the defense to burst through the line and always pick the correct guy to go after.

                2) Offensive line tries to form a pocket on the option pass. This makes no sense because it gets rid of the option and your QB runs right into the playside tackle.

3)WR either drop the ball far too often for their ratings or, with the patch, they will almost never drop the ball, no matter how hard you hit them, whether they're in mid air or not, or how well timed the hit is.

                4) Robo QBs almost never make bad throws regarless of stats unless they get hit. In v1.0 the kept sailing the ball over WR over the middle to the safety but rarely overthrew the routes to the sideline.

                5) Offensive linemen still miss obvious blocks, especially in the option. Cannot tell you how many times my backside tackle went after a linebacker to the playside which left the backside DT untouched to the QB.

*note my references to the option are out of the triple option*

                Now for the fun list...Defense.

                1) man coverage was broken. At first we had super mirror defenders. Now we have mentally disabled CBs who seem to always lose their reciever on the first cut and then continue to run 5-10 yards the wrong way.

                2) Zone coverage was non-existant. Defenders just sat in their little imaginary bubble, did not react to recievers closing in on their zone or the ones in their zone. Then to further the pain, the defenders did not react until after the WR caught the ball.

                3) The front four had no way of getting pressure. random freshman LT with bad ratings could successfully block Defensive Player of the Year DE by himself. The fact I do not have to gameplan for dominate defensive linemen ruins the strategy aspect of the game.

                4) Safties did not react at all to players going deep on streaks. Their speed was far too low to make anything happen.

                5) Super aware offensive linemen could pick up defenders that they could not see and would then motion shift them into the block.

                6) Crappy tackling. Their are far too many motion shifting arm tackles in the game. Make an animation for multiple angles of approach. Nothing is uglier to look at than watching my Big Hit safety at full speed hit a WR square and then get motion shifted to the left side shoulder.

                7) The lack of consecutive hit tackles. How does a feature that 2k had back in 04 still not make it into a game in 2010.

                8) Pro-tak is evil. Everybody falls forward and it just kills to watch all my defenders get stood up by a small minimum weight WR.

These are all critical flaws in the gameplay that need to be addressed before any new features are added.

I agree. If even half of the things you mentioned make it into the game, NCAA 12 will be 100 times better than 11.

I understand people on here want info and now. But there is still 3 months left. I'm sure info and gameplay will start flowing very soon. It will get here in due time. I'm with you, and please don't get me wrong and all. But it is still early and they have time to give use plenty of info. They already had a blog and video of a interview with to 2 developers already on pylons and dreads. But I think it would of been nice of them to give a outline of when they will do blogs like Phil did with madden 12 this year. But we can't do nothing but wait and see. But I think everything at the end will be fine.

                      I hear you Legend.

I think the issue is not so much a release of Gameplay info, but an opportunity to address those things that hinder the game (as noted by Kaiser).

Since the 1st release on Next-Gen, there has been NO opportunity or discussion concerning the things that are found.

The truth is that the Dev's have concluded what will be in the Game well before January. There is not discussion, it's a done deal by that time.

So it's more about what has been done about issue A or B etc... that's causing the game not to play as advertised.

                      Guy's have found...
-That high AWR on Off decides the pecking order for who gets passes there way
-High Play Rec gives DL the Super Breakthrough-the-line ability
-Hit Power determines how Agressive a Def player is to the BALL, not tackling per say
-OL needs high AGL rating so blocking plays out smoother (less morphing/shifting to blocks)

                      The list goes on.
Some things have been found out by the community back in '09, yet they are still in the game.

It's not about their Marketing Strategy as some argue.
There's no need to hold back communication addressing the issues found by the community from their past release.
They can address these issues then they can lead into the so called "New" inclusions.

I know many would love to hear that the Super Jump by Def players has been fixed.
Or the ever 60 rated Robo QB from an Option Team throwing like P. Manning all over the place.

A simple "We fixed this issue from last year" would go a long way right now in building up the Hype into the release of their New Features information.

What makes it worse, is that we are in a Dead Zone with sports right now.
March Madness is over, NBA is boring until Finals, Baseball is...

There's nothing right now for Sports gamers.

I won't be excited until I get my grubby little mitts on the game (yes, this is the one game that I must buy every year) and kick the tires myself.

I am through with the hype from EA or from those at sites like this who get to play the game ahead of time. Such reviews are usually glowing, or at least indicate promise.

What I want to know - and I'll probably only know this when I play myself - is if the CPU in-game logic has been fixed. No more predictable fake punts near the 50-yard line, for instance. Some mass subbing by the CPU during a blowout win would be nice, as I can't stand giving up inflated stats, much of which occurs in the final quarter of a CPU rout early in my dynasties while I'm building at team.

I could go on and on ... but I won't get excited until I see gameplay overhauled. I'm not interested in bells and whistles.

I dont mind waiting until after the 25 plays and even the cover gets released which will be 19th, but the blog would have to be big. I definitely think there would be a blog which will be big in the week of the draft like Madden is doing. But There should be a blog before that one

Personally I plan on picking up the game because I love college football and have been a fan of this series for awhile. I am hoping we hear something about the game and either a new feature or just any news soon. But I am willing to wait to hear something because I know when July comes I will be happy because I have the game.

But don't you guys think that all this anticipation and "hype" waiting for new info is good for the game? It's annoying and I hate just as much as you guys checking here everyday to see if today is the day, but it has to help the game a bit. You know what I mean? It keeps us interested.
So when we do get the info it's gunna be all.....
