I shouldn't post in this thread because I am excited.

However, this is the first game that I have played this long after the real season ended since I was a kid and played Tecmo Super Bowl year round. Given their success last year and how much I've enjoyed the game, what's isn't there to be excited about?
Have you heard of games like NBA 2k11 and MLB The Show? Those games have pushed the sports genre to great lengths... Much more than EA has done.

Yes, I own both games and I agree with you that they are better than EA's football games at this point. However, that's not at all what I was saying and I stand by my original point that NCAA 11 made the single biggest leap over the previous iteration than any other sports game this gen. Also, online dynasty is ten times better than either of their online league play. Just my .02.

I'm agreeing with this one fully. The Show, NHL, and NBA 2K all bring their games to the limits. But only NHL has a good online system, and that's for Team Play and not leagues. NCAA has the best online league/dynasty/franchise mode in games today. Madden's mode is horrible as well, unless they made some drastic improvements that I never saw or read about in 2011.

I am not very excited about the game coming out but new info can always change that opinion. With that being said, I do not get nearly as excited as I used to get. It seems like new options are really old options and that the dynasty is stale. The past few years have been way too offensively focused imo which goes against my style of defensive first football. My opinion can change but I have learned to curb my enthusiasm when it comes to NCAA.

From a marketing standpoint, team is smart in waiting as long as possible to show the game in motion.

I get it, but that to me, signals trouble; less time to look at it equals less time to pick it apart and "build anticipation". However, if you were confident that your game was going to be the next best thing, you should have no reserves about getting information out as quickly as possible. Not to mention the earlier the community can identify some of the gameplay issues, the more time the development team has to fix those issues without using up one of their two free patches.

Re: Anyone else not excited about NCAA 12?

I, too, am worried about the game. The franchise hasn't really impressed me over the past few years. Every year I expect the game to step up and impress me but every year it seems to be the same thing with a few new "features" thrown in to camouflage the real problems. Last year's game was a step in the right direction but still had severe problems (especially after the awful patches).

I've always spoke out against adding new features without fixing the gameplay but this year I will not be buying the game if Coaching Carousel is not included. Dynasty Mode is simply broken without it. I can't get past 7 or 8 years in Dynasty Mode because it becomes unplayable. The good teams rise and the bad teams fall. There's no middle ground. If a team has a bad rating the first year in Dynasty they will have a bad rating in the last year in Dynasty. We need a feature that will replace coaches in failing programs to help those programs get back into competition.

Gameplay made pretty big improvements last year so I'm hoping this year they can continue to improve it. Gameplay overall isn't that awful but there are a lot of small things that hinder my enjoyment. Realism should be the focus of the team for gameplay. That's been my biggest pet peeve about the Next-Gen games. They all play like arcade games. Make them more realistic and I'll be happy.

Currently I'm worried about this years title but I also am keeping some hope. I'm hoping that the lack of announcements will be due to one large bomb-shell announcement that will get the entire community excited. I'm optimistic Coaching Carousel could be it. Let's just hope.

I'm actually not excited about NCAA 12 because I'm still enjoying NCAA 11. I haven't been paying attention to anything involving NCAA 12 yet, other then visiting this forum every few days. I will still most likely buy it on release day but right now I'm preoccupied with my ongoing dynasty and MLB 11.

Being a husker fan I am excited for the upcoming game simply to play with Nebraska in the Big 10. I just hope, I mean really really hope, that the gameplay is good (as long as it plays on the field a little better than NCAA 11 I will be happy). If it is another game like NCAA 9 and 10 with no defense and sliders that don't work properly I will be extremely upset.

Though Im not a Husker fan, I am really curious how your Huskers do this year in the Big Ten. I bet Martinez is going to be ranked like Robinson was in Ncaa 11. I might give them a try in 12 myself, as I have yet to use them in 11.

                                Time for my 2 cents...

They aren't going to do some big advertising when the game doesn't come out until July... To me, it seems like they are keeping htings under wraps, maybe to suprise us. It's way too early to expect something big to happen. And just because they did things a certain way last year doesn't mean they're going to do it the same way every year.

I, for one, will buy the game because like somebody else said, it's what I do. A game from a series I like comes out, I'm going to buy it. But seriously, I think they will have made improvements, but I also think that it won't be good enough for some people because something that someone likes will not be included. But, that's life and we've got to move on past it.
James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."
