Re: EA DB Editor error
Long time reader, first time poster. Thought I would share something I learned since I have gained so much from this community that has kept my interest in this game for so long.
I recently came across the cause to at least one of the instances of the "Unhandled exception - item with the same key has already been added" error and thought I would share in case this was not previously known.
I was starting a new dynasty with a new coach and extracted the dynasty file to make all of my beginning of the season edits in the editor and got the error right off the bat, with a brand new dynasty. I thought this was odd because I was not using any team builder teams and was using a downloaded roster (volstopfan14, I think).
I loaded up a new dynasty, created my new coach, decided to use the games' generic generated roster, extracted it, loaded it up in the DB Editor....and got the same error.
Come to find out when you create a new coach, and start a dynasty with said new coach, the game (or DB Editor, not sure which) creates several duplicate coaches on the coaches tab. They cannot be deleted or edited regardless if you are renaming them in the DB Editor, or extracting them to a .csv file, editing them and re-importing. It also does it when using Teambuilder teams in a dynasty.
It appears that the only way to avoid this particular issue is to use an existing coach when creating a new dynasty and then edit him to who you want him to be.
Hope this helps someone along the way.Comment

Re: EA DB Editor error
So, I have a great dynasty going, and the exception hit. I loaded up the dynasty in the madden editor and went to the “new” team tab - deleted the 15-20 players. Saved it and it loaded without an error in the dynasty editor. Awesome! Until I tried loading the dynasty in my Xbox and it came up as a corrupted file.
Now what?Comment

Re: EA DB Editor error
Opened up the file in the Madden Reader - went to the third dropbox that has the "teams" listed; scrolled to “new”and deleted the list of guys and saved it.
It loaded right up in the Dynasty Editor with out an exception error. Everything is showing up in the editor perfect but now the file is corrupt.Last edited by GAMEBREAKER85; 08-18-2020, 06:54 AM.Comment

1) HxD editor.
2) An undedited version of the file that you are editing
3) Your edited file.
You will need to open both in HxD. You will notice that the second line on your unedited file is different from the second line on your edited file. You will need to copy the second line from your unedited file and Paste Write it onto the second line of your edited file and save. Once you do that and then Save/Rehash the file using Modio or Horizon, then you should be able to load the file back into the game.
If you're not familiar with any of this, here is a thread that you can check out right here...

Re: EA DB Editor error
I thought I had it! But I don't.
I did what you said, copy and pasted the second line from the unedited to the edited. etc.
Now yesterday without doing that my dynasty file had an the generic EA Sports Logo and said Damaged file; after doing what you said the emblem of a user team popped up like its supposed to but when it tried loading it said the file was corrupted.
***Wait I may have it! I did a file comparison on the HxD and there was one number different in a column below. I switched the number in the edited file to that of the unedited and it just loaded. Seeking to see if everything loads right etc. If this works - so thankful man!Last edited by GAMEBREAKER85; 08-18-2020, 03:39 PM.Comment

Re: EA DB Editor error
Knock on wood:
I took the file, opened it in MaddenReader - went to the team drop down - selected the “new” deleted all 20-30 players. Saved.
(The file then loads right Into the editor - w no exception.)
Then took the HxD: loaded the edited file and an unedited file. Took the second line from the unedited and copied it over the second line in the edited. (I had issues, the file was still corrupted) just by luck I clicked on file comparison - and there was one number different in the file on line 3. I changed it and saved it just to get lucky and it worked. (Make sure you save over the original edited file, if you just click save you get a .bk file which is corrupted on your Xbox.
Rehash, Save and so far I think I’m good. Huge thanks! And hopefully this is all I have to do every preseason.Last edited by GAMEBREAKER85; 08-18-2020, 04:07 PM.Comment

Re: EA DB Editor error
I officially quit.
Thought everything was rolling, but after deleting the "New" players listed etc., etc. Players from all kinds of teams have went M.I.A. on the depth charts and rosters when loading up the files. The editor is great but there are just to many kinks, I'm sick of spending so many hours finding work arounds.Comment

Before you quit, did you by any chance do Recalculate Maps?"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

For some reason you are helping me in two different threads - confusing. I posted what happened to me in the other thread about Duplicate ID's.
Yes, everything shows up perfect in the editor after you RecalcMaps etc. but they go missing on the xbox.Comment
