Finally, saw the Gadget ability loadout

Side-Step, Shifty, Dot, Cutter, Extender


So in theory, they are able to be a playmaker with the ball in their hands, run good routes, make passes in the pocket, and break sacks. If I could swap one out, I would change out Dot for Option King. But, I get the concept of wanting Gadget players being able to be a playmaker, legit WR threat, and actually be able to pass. I just want to see the ratings layout for progressing that player. They would need both WR and QB ratings

I might do a Gadget WR RTG just see how the archetypes performs and how AI call plays. I wouldn't want an AI team to treat me like a regular WR

I do have some confidence that CPU teams will use Gadget players correctly. There is a dedicated Gadget depth chart position and certain formations will have a dedicated Gadget player spot. I do think a playbook like Penn State will take advantage of them. I do like that Gadgets don't have a Wear and Tear or Stamina ability. That way, we can't overuse them

I'll likely try to do a Gadget WR RTG for Penn State to test how they use my player.

i do think we'll have to research the rating costs for each Archetype. It still seems like there will be archetypes that are cheaper progress than others, like how Slot CB was. Bordeaux said how Raw Strength might be one to avoid because of how expensive some ratings could be. I do think that if you have recruits with high enough physical ratings, it could be a worthwhile investment to target expensive archetypes.

I think Physical Freak could be a expensive Archetype because I imagine those players with high ceilings will have a lot of physical attribute caps. But, if you have a recruit who already has high physical ratings, it might be cheaper to focus on the cheaper ratings

I do like how Speed was toned down, especially for 3 stars. We should see more of a talent gap between the elite schools and bottom tier

It looks like the new 'Instincts' ability is a Mental Ability. In the beta, it was listed as a Physical ability. I wonder if they changed the outcomes because it was described as quick reaction to run plays

Looks like 25% penalty for the manual progression isn’t enough based on the videos I’ve seen. I’ll probably lean closer to 40-50%

the raw strength upgrade puzzles me a bit as that’s my #1 I target. We will see how it plays out could be changed. I don’t see why run blocking would cost more for that type then others.

Yeah, it does seem like there will be archetypes that are cheaper than others to progress.

It'll come down whether you prefer specific abilities or specific archetypes. For example, I want Dot and On Time, so I could go with either Pocket Passer or BackField Creator. For some positions, I prefer specific abilities and other positions I prefer archetypes.

I’m not getting it early. Have to travel for work the first few days of the week. Please let me know a good amount that makes it realistic and challenging.

I and others will definitely test out the sliders / settings for transfer portal and manual progression; I’m thinking those should carry over without playing the game

Thanks! What I miss about progression is that sometimes guys come in and become studs, and other times highly-touted guys come in and play well but never really get any better. I guess I could just auto-progress, but I like the idea of “creating training plans” for my guys (I.e. picking where they get better). Nerfing it by 40% hurt everyone when some guys might jump 8 overall while others only jump 1 or stay the same. Hard to replicate this accurately.
