Re: How is your dynasty going
So I would have to say they would get a bottom barrel hire. Like new HC Doug Martin this year. I doubt he was on alot of schools radars.
Plus it'll add to the challenge and experience, but thats just me. I like the toughest settings/road. Main reason I start off as a coordinator and work my way up on the slowest coach progression setting.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Hey guys it has been a few days since I last posted anything about my dynasty. I had my file get messed up when my 1 year old daughter got hold of my controller after I stepped out of the room to get a coke. I had a back up file but it was during the off season and I was in week 12 of the following season. I decided to start a new dynasty and do a blog now that I discovered that section and all the templates. If you guys want check it out.
The title is “Zero to Hero or Some Where in Between: The Career of Tony McDaniel”

2013 Season week 1 Gowen's career
Miami Herald
Canes Offense Soars, Defense Stumbs
The Miami Hurricanes opened up the 2013 football season against the Florida Atlantic Owls. The Canes offesnse was explosive to say the least, they scored touchdowns on their first five offensive positions. It was clear to everyone watching that the Owls defense was clearly out matched and even had trouble slowing down Miami's second string offense. Duke Johnson and Stephen Morris looked like all americans in their first contest. Johnson finished with 187 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and four receptions for 25 yards. Duke Johnsons offensive performance was only out done by his teammate Stephen Morris who was selected player of the game. Morris was accurate and got the ball to his recievers quickly allowing them to make plays in open space. Morris throw for 388 yards and lit the owl D up for five passing touchdowns. The deadly duo of Morris and Johnson are going to present challenges to every defense they face this year. If the offensive line can continue to protect Morris and open up hugh holes for Johnson the Canes will be unstoppable on offense.
Miami's offensive explosion caused the defense to relax entering the second half. FAU took advantage of this and battled back in the second half scoring 33 points. The owls offense really came alive, almost putting the Canes in danger of losing the game. The defense dug deep and came up with some key stops in the fourth quarter after allowing the owls to have their way offensivly. The defense must step up inorder for Miami to take the next step as a football team and win an ACC Title.
Next week the Canes are faced with the task of taking on in state rival (8) Florida Gators at home. The two teams will battle for the Seminole War Canoe. Should the Canes win the game it could set them up for big things this season. The last time these two teams met was in 2008 and the Gators took that contest. This game is not only huge when it comes to national rankings but also in the state recruiting battles.

Colorado Buffaloes Dynasty
Coach: Mack Mizzle

#12 Colorado
4-0 (1-0) Pac 12
Colorado rolled in the season opener, thumping Colorado State 45-16 in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Boomer Powell led the way with 113 rushing yards and 2 tds. Merrill was knocked out of the game with a sprained wrist in the 2nd quarter but said he felt great in practice heading into Week 2 action against UCF.
Folsom Field was rocking and the matchup with #16 UCF was a high scoring affair with CU winning 45-35. WR Shooter Shaw had 139 yards receiving and Boomer Powell strengthened his Heisman candidacy rushing for 209 yards and 2 scores. Merrill broke the school record for passing touchdowns and now has 63 during his illustrious career at Colorado.
In week 3 the Buffs traveled to the Sea of Red to take on the Cornhuskers. The home team never had a chance as Colorado rolled 52-10. Shaw caught 2 more tds and also had a interception. Coach Mizzle sat his starters in the 4th and said that he expected a tougher fight out of rival Nebraska, he also added that Colorado has declined an offer to join the Big 12.
Week 4 was a wild game right to the very end, over 1200 yards between both teams, 2 overturned touchdown catches and a blocked field goal to end the game. Colorado won 52-49 over Cal, Powell went for 140 yards and a score, Shaw had 2 tds and a forced fumble.

Re: How is your dynasty going
I usually start out with the Vols, but I've always wanted to do a coaching dynasty where I start out at a one-star school. Started up today with FIU using default rosters with generated names.
Gave Maryland all they wanted before falling 45-31. The Terps scored a TD with 20 seconds left to run it up. I'm going to remember that if I see them again. Looking forward to seeing how things go with the Panthers.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
I'm considering downloading, FCS TB school Mercer, which just restarted their football program, is 60 OVR, and made mostly of Freshman and Sophomores, and starting a new dynasty with them.
I don't know that I'm ready to abandon my Udub Dynasty yet though...NFL - Indianapolis Colts

Re: How is your dynasty going
Alright going to start up a dynasty as the HC of New Mexico State.
I'll be running my custom 1 HB, 4 WR offense, and a 3-3-5 defense.
If anyone has any suggestions or requests on what I should include in updates let me know so I know what to include. I'll be posting this on here and in the dynasty forum.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: How is your dynasty going
Have a few questions for you all though, and maybe more over the next few days.
1) Should I use existing coach Bobby Lamb http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_L...rican_football) or create a new coach?
2) Should I start as an Independent, schedule mostly FCS teams over the first few years to simulate being an FCS school/having a FBS transition period or immediately join the Sun Belt or C-USA?
3) Any suggestions for recruiting house rules? My ideas were
Non-pipeline prospects can only be 1-star greater than school prestige
Out-of-state-pipeline: only 2-stars greater
In-state-pipeline: 3-stars greater
Home-town prospects: Any
Max number of prospects I can sign: # of players leaving + # of players on roster away from 70 + school's prestige bonus (1*=0; 2*=1; 3*=2 4*=3; 5*=4 6*=5).
Thoughts?
Note #1: This max number of prospects signed (MPS) setup is similar to the setup DesertStorm425 uses for the Authentic NCAA online dynasty except his prestige bonus is smaller for high-prestige schools and larger for the low-prestige schools.
Note #2: This MPS would not take effect until year 3 due to Mercer's roster consisting entirely of Freshmen and Sophomores.Last edited by CR3AMnCR1MS0N; 08-11-2013, 11:34 PM.NFL - Indianapolis Colts

Re: How is your dynasty going
Well, I've finished up my first season at Hawaii. Had a lot of fun introducing my new offensive air raid to the MWC. We did better then I thought we would, but we have a long ways to go to compete on a National scale. We pulled a couple upsets during the regular season, but we also played terribly at times. Here's how my season went.
2013 Hawaii Schedule
USC L 28-45
@ Oregon State W 27-26
@ Nevada W 42-14
Fresno State W 38-37
San Jose State L 28-38
@ UNLV W 45-21
Colorado State W 37-11
@ Utah State W 36-17
@ Navy W(OT) 35-29
San Diego State L 39-42
@ Wyoming W 31-24
Army L 24-29
My offense was unstoppable when it was clicking, but far too often it would just go inept. Which is OK really, because these are not players I've recruited. My skill positions did great being thrown into new schemes.
Conference Championships
SEC
#7 Georgia 35
#8 Arkansas 21
MWC
#3 Boise State 15
#10 Fresno State 34
PAC12
#18 USC 28
#12 Stanford 9
ACC
Maryland 17
#17 Virginia Tech 31
BIG10
#5 Ohio State 38
#13 Nebraska 24
MAC
Ohio 6
Ball State 31
CUSA
FIU 21
UTEP 35
My 8-4 record gave me a Poinsetta Bowl appearance against 8-4 NC State. I was eager to show up another BCS conference team this season. Before that could happen though, we had to sit through the award ceremonies.

Heisman Winner

21 receptions for 313 yards 3 TD's
I don't know how Carlos Hyde won the Heisman, Derek Carr should have IMO, but oh well. I disagree with any of my defensive players winning awards as well, because my defense was TERRIBLE all season. Could never stop the run, allowing 165 rushing yards per game! We also allowed 27.8 points per game. Our defensive stats did not look very good going into bowl season, facing ACC power NC State.
NC State began the game with the ball, and quickly began to drive until I grabbed an INT on their 4th play. Couldn't have a much better start to the game. I tested the defensive backs of NC State early with my aerial assault, and they stepped up early, holding us to just 3 points after the turnover. After forcing a 3 and out, Higgins fumbled the ball on our side of the field scrambling out of the pocket, what a disaster! NC State quickly turned that into 7 points to take the lead.
Magic happened following the PAT though, as Maggitt, my returner, brought one all the way back to the house to give us a 10-7 lead! After forcing another 3 and out (My defense is really stepping up!) my offense began driving, and just after crossing the 50, Higgins dropped another fumble! This time my defense held NC State to just 3 though, so tie game!
After putting together a TD drive, we took a 20-10 lead, but NC State was quick to respond with a TD of their own. After some back and forth, we took a 27-24 lead into half time. After dominating the 3rd quarter, we held a 44-24 lead. However, the wheels fell off the wagon dramatically. The Wolfpack scored on every possession they had, and took a 45-44 lead with 1:55 left, but that gave us the ball. Higgins was driving us down the field, and connected with a bullet down the seam at the 10 yard line, but NC State's safety came up and popped the ball out, and fell right on it. The Wolfpack would grind the clock out to edge us out for the win.
I can't be disappointed though. We came into the game vastly overmatched, and we put up a fight. I didn't have the depth on defense to keep it up though.
Rest of the Bowl Season to follow...
