Re: How is your dynasty going

Thanks for the input. One of the things about dynasty that Im not crazy about is that it seems like once you have a good season, the rest are always just as good. It has been like that every game since I remember. Is it just me or does anyone else notice that too? I think I need to start doing some recruiting house rules to try to make it alittle more realistic when I make my next and final move. I usually go balls to the wall with recruiting.
As of now I am 9-2 with Texas A&M and who even knows if Id get the spot at USC anyhow. Still have a season finale against a tough Mizzou team, probably an SEC Championship game and the bowl game.

It's because they've never add more depth to building programs. You'd stick around a lot longer if you could build stadiums, add dorms, upgrade the campus, etc.. Once you build up there's really not much left to do.

Why not try to play like Texas? Have a great team and a crappy QB. You could just cut your top QB's and then recruit busts and bad players at QB.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Since the last update, my Auburn team went to the Sugar Bowl where we beat Texas 25-19 to finish the season #2 (a 21-14 loss at home to Ole Miss our undoing).

Year 5 of the reign of terror saw us sport a 7-0 record before our annual grudge match against Texas A&M. I say a grudge match because in the previous FOUR seasons we had beat the Aggies on a last second FG.

But with the hero of those games lost to graduation (K-Donald Barber; Sunrise Manor, NV) one wondered if freshman Mike Macklin from San Benito, Texas could handle the pressure.

He had his chance but we will never know.

With time winding down and another game winning, time expiring FG attempt from the 31 pending, I experienced the infamous "no timeout" glitch. Despite pressing the damn button around 5 times with the clock heading to :00 - NOTHING. TEXAS A&M 24 AUBURN 23.

But before we could hear all the analysis from the announcers, I killed the power on my PS3!

The game never saved, so I re-booted simmed it to a victory (42-28).

To be honest, I'm pissed - I earned that win and a classic score - compared to the easy out of simming but the positive is that the first game didn't save and ruin my dynasty.

Seeing how I'm putting NCAA 14 on the shelf after this dynasty season (I call it my Super Bowl rule - no games after the SB or I'll play all year long), at least I still have a chance for all the marbles.

So what did we learn from all this?

Don't rely on calling a timeout! Have your FG play selected just in case!

Same as with Madden, I'm starting over my dynasty. I'm starting a 2014 Maryland dynasty.

Week two has Oregon Ducks strolling into Spartan Stadium to take on a very over matched San Jose team. Well I lost my starting running back and #2 wr for the game. Wr is out for 3 weeks and rb is questionable. Needless to say I lost 40-28.

                    Next up traveling to Umass.

My most disappointing season ever. I have never won National Championship. This season, I was 12-0 with TAMU and am ranked #1 . I go into the SEC championship against SC. They win, and I drop in the rankings from 1 to 4, behind SC (13-0), Louisville (12-) and even Ohio State, (11-2). The game paired me up with a team ranked 4 below me (Oregon State) in the Sugar Bowl. I was so disappointed I just simmed all bowl games including my own. Of course, when the game asked me if I wanted the trophy for winning the Sugar Bowl, I chose No, because I didn't play it.

Don't sweat it, it will be more rewarding when you finally win it.

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope I can win it this season, because it will get much harder after that. It's my last with Manziel.

My last season with Madden was very disappointing as well. I finished the regular season 13-3, and actually got to the Super Bowl ( rare thing for me) against the Bills. But Bradford stunk it up. Finally, at 28-0, I replaced him when he (I) threw his fourth INT. My backup, Steven McGee (I) lit it up, getting 2 TDs in the last 6 minutes, but I ran out of time and lost 28-14.

I dont want it to come easy. I def want it to be hard. If that means 5-6 years before I can cash in then so be it.

In my 2nd year of San Jose St dynasty. I will be looking to take the Tennessee or Texas Tech job as soon as they come available. Can I force out one of their coaches and take the job lol..

Man as bad as I want to move to a big school I am kinda falling in love with this avg recruiting class and may have to stick it out at SJSU for a long while.

Finished my second season as Old Dominion's OC. Finished as Conference USA Champs our record being 12-2 with losses to LSU and UCF in the Liberty Bowl (both by 3 points, 41-38 and 38-35 respectively). Taylor Heinicke finished 2nd in the Heisman (and most other awards) voting. Now I'm debating whether or not to stay at ODU, since I have a capable QB who transferred last season and will be able to start this season for me.

And with Bobby Wilder heading off to be Head Coach at Cal, Old Dominion decided to offer me the head coaching gig. I took that, and I look forward to taking Old Dominion even higher. My goal for this year after some serious talent loss on the offensive side of the ball, is to get 8 wins with one of them coming in a bowl game, to get the 1st bowl win in ODU's history. From there, we'll develop our offensive talent and see what we can do to get some more talent in on D as well. As it stands, 1-0 as ODU's head coach with a 35-28 win over NC State. Up next, a visit to the Beavers of Oregon State.
