Re: RIVALS 28-29
WEEK 4
[emoji91] GAME OF THE WEEK [emoji91]
9 OKLAHOMA vs TCU
Oklahoma is coming off of arguably the most embarrassing loss they've had since Jay took over as the head coach. The score was ugly but the most concerning was actually seeing OU look completely outcoached and outplayed. They had no answers the entire night and they gave up 400 passing yards to an average QB. This week they will face the #3 passing offense and the leading QB in passing yards in the country. OU's secondary looked bad against Rice as well so now it sets up not only a possibility of a crazy game on Saturday, but a game of desperation as to what this season will be. A loss here for OU, especially at home would send this team and fan base into a complete meltdown.
TCU is 2-0 having played to G5 schools but they have looked great on the field. They protect White this game could look alot like last week, but also like last week, OU's secondary issues could force so much attention to the past the Blount runs wild on the ground. Defensively they can afford to play overly aggressive and try to force some turnovers. OU still has not announced their QB so this game is truly set up for TCU to upset the Sooners and start the year 3-0.Comment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
Think my ps3 is slowly dying again. Played yesterday and was up 31-10, running chew clock and the game froze with around 1 minute remaining in the 4th. Played again this morning tho. 1st quarter we went up 14-0. 2nd quarter Vandy tied the game at 14, after we missed a fg. We scored a td right before halftime. Halftime score 21-14, LSU. 3rd quarter Vandy gets the ball first but we force them punt. We score another td. 4th quarter we up 14 but Vandy cuts our lead to only 7 . With only 2 minutes remaining in the game, Vandy doesn't go for the onside kick and we run the clock out. LSU beats Vandy, 35-21.Comment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
9 OKLAHOMA vs TCU
Lawrence got his first start at QB today
1st Half
TCU gets the ball first and they pick us apart in the aid like everyone else. Fortunately late in the drive they go 4 verts and force a pass to the back of the endzone that we pick off. Our first drive is solid until a 3rd and long turns into an 11 yard loss after a sack. We go up 3-0 after a long fg. We force a 3 & out and get a 7 play drive to go up 10-0 with Alfred, our FR RB scoring the td. TCU finally answers taking a slant for 61 yds then a 4 play drive that ends in White keeping an option for his self. 14-10 TCU. We answer back with a good drive and Lawrence hitting Trey for an 11 yd td pass. 17-16 OU. We get a stop and try to get another shot at points but we take a safety. 17-16 OU at the half.
2nd Half
Both teams trade punts to start the half, then Lawrence finally makes a bad read under pressure and TCU picks it off on the sideline. TCU turns that into points as Smith goes back to the 4 verts and hits the WR whos man picked it in the first half. 2pt fails and TCU leads 22-17. Lawrence goes 5/7 on the next drive getting OU down to the goalline, but the second miss was a goalline int and TCU almost ran it back. OU gets a huge defensive stop on the next drive and Lawrence has a chance to take the lead with 5:36 left. 4 good runs by Alfred start the drive but a 21yd sack kills OU. 3rd and 27 with 3:22 left Lawrence under throws a deep ball to Trey in double coverage but somehow Tray comes down with it. 6 plays later OU gets stuffed on 3rd and Goal from the 1 with 0:38 left. 4th and 1 Sooners put Dunlap back in and he scores with 0:16 left. 2pt is dropped by our FB, 23-22 OU. TCU gets to midfield with 0:08 and the hail mary is tipped with 0:01 left. They take another shot and this one is tipped as time expires. Identical to the Baylor game last year but OU survives.

Harvey starts the game with an endzone int in his first start to give OU the early momentum
Tray may have got the biggest catch of the year on 3rd & 21
Lawrence throws a td pass in his first start at OU
Dunlap has struggled the past 2 games but scores the go ahead td on 4th and 1Comment

WEEK 5
[emoji91] GAME OF THE WEEK [emoji91]
24 OREGON vs 1 USC
The Trojans are the top team in the country right now but Im not convinced that they are the best team in country at all. Right now they are playing very similar to Oregon in that both teams are to 25 in rushing offense, but Oregon's QB Kelvin Simmons is playing way more efficient. The Ducks are 1-2 so his play has been overlooked, and deservingly so, but he has 9 tds and only 1 int right now. They just have the strength of their schedule all up front with #9 Ohio State, #23 Penn State, Kansas State, and now #1 USC. If they can split this stretch with this win at home they're right back in it.
The USC offense is led by their star RB and FB along with a tough secondary. They get a lead and its hard to catch up against those stingy safeties. The biggest difference statistically between the 2 teams is defense. USC has been incredibly solid on defense and if they can do that this week they will be leaving Eugene undefeated.Comment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
Miss St got the ball first and drove down the field pretty easy but the defense forced them to kick a fg. Our first drive was pretty easy tbh, they played a lot of zone coverage and we got td. They scored a td on there next drive and we kicked a fg. Score tied at 10. 2nd quarter they got another fg. Then we fumbled on a Qb run and Miss St recovered it. We got pick 6 shortly after they started their drive, taking a 17-13 lead. On Miss St next drive we forced them to punt with around 30 seconds left in the quarter. We got a little greedy and tried to get some points before the half and ended up throwing a pick that was almost a pick 6. Luckily the defense held them to fg. Halftime score 17-16,LSU. 2nd half was back and forth, just like the 1st half. Late in the 4th Miss St cut our lead to only 2 points, 31-29, just like last week game. Miss St didn't go for the onside kick and we run the clock out. After the first drive Miss St ran press man 90% of the game, they really locked up my wr's. The defense and RS freshman Rb Hill won us this game. Defense forced Miss St to kick so many fg's and Hill average like 7 YPC.Comment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
NEBRASKA vs 6 OKLAHOMA
Lawrence got the win last week but our run game is nonexistent so I started Davis again hoping I could mix up the run game more
1st Half
We get the ball first and punt after a 13 yd sack. They return the pun 52 yds and score 3 plays later on a read option. 7-0 Neb. We go 5 and out with 3 straight incomplete passes. Defense gets it back and we get inside the 30 on a decent drive but another sack forces a fg. 7-3 Neb. Defense holds again and 3 plays into the 2nd Davis throws a 40yd bomb to Tray in double coverage and he catches it in the endzone for our first lead of the game. 10-7 OU. They get their best drive of the game but call 4verts at the 10 and Harvey gets a pick in the endzone. They get 2 fgs in the last 4 minutes of a very defensive half and its 13-10 Neb at halftime.
2nd Half
Almost pull Davis but I leave him in. We get a stop to start the half along with a 27 yd PR by Dunlap, but all we can manage is another fg. 13-13. They get a 30yd swing pass that sets them up for a fg and a 16-13 lead with 4:16 left in the 3rd. Davis starts to click out of nowhere and throws 5/7 on the drive with Alfred scoring a td. 20-16 OU. They score in 5 plays. 23-20. Davis is still in a groove gets us all the way down field. From the 16 he hits Tray on a corner route for a td. 27-23 OU. We get a stop and an int after that and score twice to seal the W. Second half was a complete turnaround
______________________________________
Tray does it again with a huge catch in double coverage. 1st of 3 tds
Harvey in 2 starts is among the nations leaders in interceptions. 2 picks today
After a horrible start Davis has his best day of the year with 295 yds and 3 tds.
Defense finally shows up with a dominant performanceComment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
WEEK 6
[emoji91] GAME OF THE WEEK [emoji91]
The Red River Shootout
This rivalry has been lobsided since Jay Cane took over at OU. 3 total losses in a short span but every other matchup has been won by Oklahoma. Texas fans watched Arch dominate every season, but the fan base had a genuine fear heading into this game. This year they are hopeful that Gus Malzahn can turn the series around.
Texas has some big advantages going into this game. OU has struggled all year to find an identity, they seem to be in a rebuilding year with so many Freshmen playing, they've struggled horrendously against the pass, OU has struggled to get to the QB and Texas has a top 5 oline, OU's pass defense has struggled every week, and their offense has never looked this bad with Jay calling plays. The biggest advantage for Texas however is that Jay doesnt know Gus like he knew Arch. The first half will be about trying to assess, something OU never had to do against Arch.
OU only has 3 advantages going into this game: 1 is that these kids ALWAYS show up for this game so I expect a different team than what we've seen. 2 is that despite the struggles, OU has been adjusting players every week and it looks like they are finally clicking. 3 is that you can never bet against Jay. This fan base has complete confidence that if this game is winnable, he will win it.Comment

Re: RIVALS 28-29
Game was back and forth the whole time. Really don't know how Florida has a bad record, must be the settings. Had absolutely no pass rush the entire game, so their Qb and wr's torched my db's. Honestly if it wasn't for my running game, the score would've look liked the OU vs Florida game. We took the lead with 2 minutes left in the game, which of course was to much time on the clock. Florida sent the game to OT. They scored first. We scored running the ball. Double OT, we have the ball 1st, on our 1st play 2 Florida lbs come unblocked, hit Bell in the backfield and he fumbles. Florida recovers. They go pass and I bait their Qb, to throw a short curl route to their TE, he throws it and I drop it.... Florida ends up kicking a fg to win, 55-52. Also lost another key offensive of weapon for the season, 2nd week this yr.Comment
