Wasn't Looman supposed to be the guy to make everything better? Seems like I remember reading people were really excited about him, but the game has not gotten any better.

Now they need to prove it to me and they can start by adding back in cpu vs cpu, until then, I don't trust them.
I guess my level of "faith" in Tiburon would make you a Madden agnostic instead of a Madden atheist but there wouldn't be a huge difference, lol. I was just stating that in this case, I wouldn't be surprised if Clint genuinely didn't know versus buying time because devs often seem to actually not know or at least understand some elements the way hardcore gamers do.

Even if that is the case with CPU v CPU, that's not a positive either, considering how much CPU v CPU has been discussed since it was taken out.

Having CPU vs. CPU taken out of franchise mode/CFM has really been my biggest gripe. I just want it back with 32 team control and decent A.I. logic.

If they can bring it back, it's a step in the right direction.

Looman took some gambles that didn't pay off in my opinion. Little by little, they are being re-added and hopefully CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise is one of them.

I think it's bogus to take away features only to re-add them like it's a big deal, but I love the NFL and having a game where I can build my own world has been a tradition for quite a while. Like a battered wife, I'm willing to give Madden a chance if they just bring back what I love. If they don't, I at least hope the loophole is still in there or else I'm really gonna cry. Haha.

I want to give EA Sports my money. All they have to do is give me back my favorite feature. CPU vs. CPU in offline franchise mode.

In what ways do some of you guys use CPU vs CPU? Do you just like to watch the computer play itself during the Super Bowl if your team got bounced from the playoffs? Or do you like building your team in the off-season, but never using the team on the field (preferring to watch instead)?

I like being a GM/Coach. Sign, trade, and draft. Build a championship winning team. And whether the players are good enough to get there shouldn't be dependent on whether I can choose the right receiver to throw to. That'd the QB's job. Nor is it to make that key interception. That's the DB's job.

That's how I look at it. I want player ratings like awareness to matter for every player, not exempting the one I'd be controlling if I were playing.

I personally play GM and owner Pre-Madden NFL 12 days. I used to dabble with the depth chart, free agency, trades, releases, etc. I watch all the games. They are actually fun if you have the right settings in place.

I play the role of the GM for the most part. I do all the offseason stuff and I also set the depth chart. I make formation subs for my team also. What I mean by that is like putting a certain HB in a certain formation or moving my linebacker to DE in nickel and dime defenses for his pass rushing skills. Then I just watch my games play out. I only watch my games and once my season is done I just watch the Super Bowl after that and move on.

We will finally be getting some closure one way or the other. At least hopefully so. Fingers crossed for good news. Hope for the better, plan for the worst.

                            Good to know.

I suck at playing QB (I'm a far better halfback with OS sliders), so while I did turn Coach Mode on, it stunk that I still had to control all the kicking duties.

Fingers also crossed that we get it.

And if we don't, at least Player Lock seems to be in. That's welcome.
