Re: Madden NFL 15 Video - Simulated Season Stats

Definitely confirmed that I'll be in Madden Ultimate Team this year. I just can't get immersed when the statistics are so out of wack from reality. Especially when I'll be tuning my game with sliders to be realistic for real NFL averages and the simmed numbers are all over the place.

Watching streams the gaemplay looks much improved but the franchise mode hasn't got that touch yet.

Re: Madden NFL 15 Video - Simulated Season Stats

I remember hearing in the CFM video the developer (sorry, can't remember his name) mentioned something about player confidence affecting sims stats. Maybe something is going on where the qbs are loosing too much confidence and the teams are running the ball more.... just throwing that out there.

Is there a way to alter coach settings? Where they run the ball less? Because you've got Rushing yards too high, passing too low... Just makes sense if you can do that.

Also, do changes to sliders affect the stats at all, ie raising pass blocking to cut down on sacks?

Interesting, that is definitely a possibility. I assume you can't turn player confidence off which would be unfortunate in terms of simply changing coaching settings to fix stats.

Reminds me of Madden 13 where the Pats would run Danny Woodhead into the ground and Brady would have under 10 passing attempts. Ugh. Am I playing Madden 12 another year? I really hope they fix this fur the final version or get a patch in fast. Because otherwise, I think this game looks fairly impressive.

Is this a case of the sim engine simply running too much and passing too little?

If so, there MAY be a workaround where one (re)creates each HC and alters their run / pass slider to create more passing attempts and also lowers D AGG to limit the sack numbers...

I'm also curious how subsequent seasons sim out...

Skyboxer got SLIGHTLY better numbers in the years following 2014, which may be a byproduct of the AI re-calibrating the "gameplans" after each season...

              Hmm?
Hopefully you are right....But when you really think about it, it is so frustrating that we have to go through this dance time and time again to try and fix things about the game.

WOW...Epic Fail on EA's part. The Sim stats are always suspect, but these appear to be the worst ive ever seen, and that is saying something. Its amazing to me that the NFL is going more and more air raid yet the future of madden Simulation appears to be ground and pound. I'd like to believe that this disconnect actually exists over other excuses, like neglect or incompetence.

Does anyone know enough about Development to say whether or not this is patchable? I was on the fence prior to this news and now I'm leaning on waiting for my PS4 until this is fixed, or NBA2K is released.

This is what I am wondering too.

The devs have not chimed in, which suggests to me that they have now recognized that this is an issue.

Perhaps they will try to address it with a future patch. If they remain silent, then this won't be addressed until next year, at best.

Gotta be optimistic and say they now know its an issue. I REALLY hope they fix this cause I LOVE this game, but if they dont, hello NCAA 14 and NHL 15.

Re: Madden NFL 15 Video - Simulated Season Stats

Just simulated a season, week by week (not sim to the end of the season). On All-Pro with some adjusted sliders. Here's the numbers:

                        Top 5 QB's by yards:

                        Name - Yards - TD - INT - ATT - YPA - Com%

                        1. Brees - 4027 - 34 - 14 - 622 - 6.5 - 60%
                        2. Stafford - 3929 - 21 - 12 - 578 - 6.8 - 63%
                        3. Peyton - 3772 - 33 - 5 - 536 - 7.0 - 69%
                        4. Foles - 3551 - 17 - 9 - 520 - 6.8 - 65%
                        5. Flacco - 3526 - 20 - 8 - 503 - 7.0 - 64%

It's a combination of ATT and YPA.
Last year, Brees finished with 650 ATT and 7.9 YPA.
                        Stafford - 634 ATT, 7.3 YPA
                        Peyton - 659 ATT, 8.3 YPA

                        Rushing Attempts were up there:

                        1. Rice - 435
                        2. Tate - 385
                        3. Gore - 382
                        4. Ball - 380
                        5. Vereen - 377

Receiving looked good enough, could use some more yardage (but that goes hand in hand with passers).

Some other very worrying things for CFM offline fans....

The following QB's regressed or stayed the same after 1 simulated season:

Bortles, Jay Cutler, EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, Cam Newton (AWR went down 11 pts), Tom Brady (DRAMATICALLY regressed - all sub 80 accuracy), Brees, Big Ben (same as Brady, dramatically regressed), Rivers (same as Brady, Ben).

I can't really find any good QB's after 1 season....Luck improved slightly (Med accuracy went up like 6 pts, but Deep ACC went down a few).

                        This is not good...

Is there an option to look at the cpu box scores? Maybe looking in depth at each game will help to figure out what is going on.

Possibly. I just simmed the second season, this time all at once and the stats looked worse. But here's some other notes that may make you rip your hair out.
Mind you, this is at the start of Season 3 of my CFM:

                              - The Bears have Tannehill, Cutler, and Roethlisberger all on their team....and their starting QB is a rookie who's a 78 OVR (The other 3 QBs are 73, 70, and 63, respectively).

                              - Andrew Luck is NOT on the Colts. Kirk Cousins is their starter (77 OVR)

                              - Christian Ponder (73 OVR) is the Cowboys starter...

                              - Matt Ryan is NOT on the Falcons. Ryan Mallet is their starter...73 OVR

                              - Luck is on the Jaguars....ahead of Bortles (Luck is 83 OVR - awr and acc down)

                              - Rodgers is a beast, Stafford and Kaepernick are in the 94 range. Every other QB is very average.

                              - None of the rookie QB's drafted this year have progressed...
