So, how was the roster management tool. Did it work as intended, curious because I just implemented it and the way it evaluates into the new tool. Ran a test, and other then not being able to get the values to avg out with some damn decimal points, it works fine
I used the tool with great success. Loved it. Really helped to find those guys on your roster who fit your style.

Sent from my Galaxy s4 so deal with the short hand

Thats good to know because I've implemented the same system in the new tool, works exactly the same as the excel tool does.

Not just trying to find a good way to format it for viewing.

      Datasheet form.......report?

Loved it. In fact, I've used it a lot more than the scouting one (then again, I'm still in Week 2 of my 1st season...) and it's helped me approach things a little differently than in the past.

As for formatting for viewing, I could people wanting to view it more as a datasheet than a report. Then again, there are a lot of people that might prefer a cleaner report look if they're not trying to do any sorting/filtering with the end results.

I did the datasheet veiw, it wasn't very pretty, but like you said, it allows for user interaction to sort between what value they want to evaluate on

I would think the complicated thing with that idea would be, what justifies a 1st round pick? What value would be considered a 1st rounder? You would need an range to determine that considering we can't really scout every available player

The V/MV concept is already looking for the absolute max a player could be and when the NFL does the draft they are not only comparing players in the current draft, but also to previous drafts to see how they'd stack up.
I was going to mention that, the V/MV concept you used in your tool could work the issue.

                Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool

I want to implement that into the tool, I'll be looking for a way yo include it today.

For those of you who don't know, the V/MV system Cloud uses values the "Perfect" prospect, A's across the board. Then it values a prospect you scout in accordance with the "Perfect" prospect. The value is shown as a percentage, so a scouted prospect could be 78%, compared to a perfect prospect at 100%

There's a bit more to it than that, that's just my quick version.
Cloud, feel free to explain more in depth if needed

OK so i went back to check it out. It's on the Roster Evaluation spreadsheet. The SS & LOLB tabs will not let me clear with the clear button.

                      Spoiler

Each and Every year us Madden fans want the most realistic experience possible, and while some years we get improvements in that aspect, usually there are things in the game that are so far from reality, they are not even fun to use. The Madden NFL Draft is one of those things. Scouting a player with a designated amount of scouting points to reveal grade averages for skill and even further, the complete rating is just unnecessary. We struggle to manage our scouting points, but find ways to decipher the potential of each player scouted, most likely avoiding a bust each draft.
We want to see college stats, combine times, wonderlic scores, and/or even having the chance to run a few practices with a scouted player. We should be given HOURS, not points, and scouting a player or a team of players entering the draft should cost hours. We shouldnt base our judgement off grades, we should base it off scouting notes provided to us by our scouts, and times ran in the combine or stats through their college careers. This gives us, the player, the managers, the opportunity to draft gems in the later rounds and busts in the earlier rounds. The reward, or lack of, would be tremendously greater.
                      WE WANT TO SCOUT!

Feedback is welcome, I am no excel expert, everything I've learn has been from online research. If you find a problem, or want to suggest a change to better enhance the scouting process, PLEASE let me know. I want to make this tool as helpful and awesome as possible

****I am not responsible for the outcome of your draft or your team. You've read the description. You've read the rules. This tool does not guarantee you a perfect draft or a perfect roster, there are cheat guides and OS cheese blogs for that. These tools are only here for you to use at your own risk to give managing a football team a more interesting approach****
Looking forward to the 2016 version!!!!!!

Which prospect should be rated higher than the other? Because I seen a different result in the new tool than I did in the old one and I have opinions.
                                Code:

                                Low - C Low - B
                                Low - F Low - C
This is something I struggled with a lot last year in the process of our build. If they're the same position, Shepherd is a more rounded player, but Aiken will most likely have a higher ceiling depending on which attributes are weighted what, and what they cost to upgrade.

The tool is amazing when comparing two players in the same position. When comparing two players out of position, you need to rely on your team need modifier (I changed mine a lot through trial and error between a lot of my test drafts). What I use now is a round specific position needed modifier. I try to address my greatest need in the 1st round, so that will typically get the biggest modifier. That modifier grows the longer I do not select that position (I have to manually do this). If I am meeting my team needs in the first few rounds, my position needed modifiers start converging together. I'd rather get the best value with a 7th rounder, regardless of position, than to draft a "need."

tl;dr - Let the position need modifier and the suggested round drafted modifier handle too close to call picks between different positions.
