It's year 3 into Next Gen so I'm expecting big things this year & not baby steps anymore.
This would be really nice to see. There was a little work done in Madden NFL 07 along these lines that I wished we'd seen progress. Mostly on making some distinction between running backs for that game. Would be cool to see more varied throwing motions for QBs, etc.

The running attribute also displays on the draft prospects screen. Go all the way to the right and you will see everyone has running attribute "0."

You nailed it! We have no idea how this is going to impact the game, period. Ratings will still impact the outcome, and that's with user interaction. We SHOULDN'T assume the A.I. has not been improved based on that one little snippet of marketing.

I have a feeling it will be the same passing but with a modifier. Holding down L2 will add another degree in which you can alter your passing trajectory or speed.

They are still in there, just likely haven't been assigned at that point. I pulled 25 players out of my database to show you.

It was revealed by pastapadre months back that they were going to finally address wrs not fighting for the football in madden 16. Personally, I'm tired over waiting for ea's yearly gimmicks, giving us football in parts, instead of doing what other sports games have done by delivering a full, high quality game.

Something as basic as a wr going up to catch a football shouldn't be a game's selling point in this day and age.

This is how I feel also; bring a new engine or its a easy no purchase; the only thing that can get me to buy is, if they revamp or go back to the old franchise mode and this is another big fantasy of mine and wont happen so whatev. As for the "Air Coryell" new feature, it will be just another gimmick that gets hyped just to turn out flawed and broken in the end; same as every madden since 06 on 360. Shame!

YES! This is the primary reason why I won't be purchasing this year for the first time in a very, very, very long time. I personally don't believe there's much of a difference between the Infinity and Ignite engines, let alone what was used from Madden 06 - 12 on the XBOX360/PS3.

I also agree - that history tells us this "Dominate the air" feature...its likely to be just gimmick or tweak layered on top of the current dated and clunky, and jerky engine that causes players to morph/shift and slide all over the place. I hope for those that plan on purchasing Madden 16 regardless, that I'm wrong, but when was the last time you didn't have to lower your expectations to make Madden enjoyable?

While I agree that it shouldn't be a selling point, I'm just happy it's finally (hopefully) being taken into account. I'm not a user catcher, so not having something like this has really killed the game for me the past couple years.

I just want to know that if I throw a deep ball that it won't only be the awful CB going up to knock it down while my Dez Bryant just keeps running

I personally think (and hope) that the controls are QB controls. I'd like to see a timing based system with the option to throw the ball BEFORE the WR makes his cut and still have the WR continue his route. You do it too early now and the WR just keeps on going. Not sure what they can do with user catching controls but a better timing/leading passing game would get my vote.

I really wish this was the case. Route based passing does wonders for APF s realism for me. I highly doubt it tho. That would require rewriting the entire passing system and that's not how EA does things. FIFA jostling is much more likely given the games history. A band aid for a severed artery to me.

Sounds like "Ball Hawk" for the offense to me. I hope it is all about better WR-DB interaction, but know how thing tend to be more towards arcade then anything. So I will be surprised if it is anything other then hold a button to get the receiver to catch every ball.
Relax, it's just a video game!

Re: Madden NFL 16 Features All-New Controls to Dominate Air Supremacy

Interested to see what this means to the game, but as someone who's pulled himself away from the series the past few seasons, I'm not too optimistic.

I've come around to the thinking of others that most improvements will prove futile until they address the elephant in the room: player movement. I have no doubts M15 is one of the best on field Madden experiences in years. But it still largely presents itself as the same game bc it looks/feels so familiar. The various free-to-play experiences I had showed that.

I get that player movement is a massive undertaking. That said, I count M10 as the year Madden decided it was going 'sim'; I think 5 years is long enough to improve perhaps the most important aspect of the game. Yes, that's a shallow way of looking at things, but after all this time, it's clear what will continue to hold this game back despite investments in core gameplay.

It baffles me to no end why basic things in other sports games and football games of the past, require lobbying and explaining to get them into Madden. It's the same thing with CPU v CPU games in CFM and a true coach mode, so it just irks me is all.

Also to make sure I'm on topic, hopefully WR/DB interaction is vastly improved in Madden 16 yet the notion that it's likely going to be touted as a "feature"........just refer back to the second sentence in my first paragraph, smh.
I agree... I don't understand why Madden doesn't have a true coach mode and NCAA Football had. I like to build my team and watch them perform and make adjustments accordingly God I miss NFL Head Coach. Also they also need to add a sports ticker. And please EA do something about the CPU monentum so irritating to see a player catch a pass and not turn with nothing but green grass up the field. What should have been a 10-15yd gain is either a 1yd loss or 2-3yd gain without any influence from the defense. I am a Madden Supporter I just want them to get it together the little details are killing this game its not as bad as people say but its damn sure not as good as it could be.
