    Re: Madden 16 Q/A thread

How's all madden this year? Is it still extremely cheesy where the game basically cheats to win? Since getting used to all pro I've went 12-0 in my franchise idk if the games is easier or its a problem with all the +1 confidence and +1 overall stuff during games.

I guess seaching "cpu vs cpu" will not work so........is the workaround with 2 controllers possible?

Im playing CFM with the packers but the in game drills are all for either qb, dl or lb. How am I supposed to develop my wr, te or dbs if I cant get significant xp for them. Especially dbs since I cant just force them the ball for TDs like I would be able to if I wanted to recievers.

Also if upgrading to superstar trait even worth it this year? Last year it was well worth it but this year I drafted Shaq Thompson in my test run since he has it and saw no difference from a normal dev trait guy in either game prep or games.

So I am big on Speed Rushers off the edge in a 3-4. I seem to be struggling with it so far, is there a certain strategy to sacking the QB off the edge in a 3-4? Should I occupy the blocker with the end or just try and beat the tackle around?

          Thanks everyone

Sounds like your usering the OLB?

If it's a speed rusher like Von Miller with high AGI, ACC, I like to set up the inside move. So I'd rush wide then cut underneath the tackle for a shot at the QB. Also blizting off of a wide 9 is fun. Just line up wide and for a one on one shot at the Tackle. This is only when you KNOW the defense has to pass though, because you give up the outside contain lol.

With a pass rusher you ideally want to use A (xbox) X (PS) for a finesse move.

That makes sense. I missed the last couple Madden's so I dont totally have the pass rushing buttons down yet.

So if I'm rushing off the edge, pressing RT to engage, then pressing A and cutting inside?

Ah ok. I'll break it down further for you.

A is for finesse moves. Use this for you speed rushers with a high finesse move ability.

X is for power moves. Use the mainly when double teamed or you want to drive the linemen back. A linemen with high STR is ideal and power move ability.

RT is to time the jump count. When the ball is hiked, if you push RT you'll get a quick first step. If you push RT before the hike you may cause the linemen to react causing a penalty.

Using the analog stick just gives you more control over which way you want to go after attempting the move. For power moves I like to just hold down and try to split the double team.

Sorry to jump in but do I press X/A only when the button flashes on the screen, or can I attempt a move any time I wish once engaged with the OLman?

Also, do I need to use the analog stick to direct the direction of my rush and pass move, or do I just keep the stick in neutral when trying a move, and then use the analog once free from the block?

Sorry but I'm sucking bad at pass rushing.

                    Re: Madden 16 Q/A thread

The displayed button is just the ideal move to use. You typically see X on runs and A on pass.

You can push either button prior to engaging with the linemen and the icon displaying. If your early you'll just dive at the ground if you used X lol if your late you'll engage anyway.

You don't HAVE to use the analog when performing the move. Using the analog when do the pass rush gives you more control.

For example, if you have a Nickel blitz you'd want your end to attack inside of the tackle, so the Nickel comes free... Or if you see the QB about to scramble you may want to hit A and go outside the tackle to stop the QB.

Got it. That's not that far off from what I'm doing, but man, I rarely get pressure on the QB.

Is it possible to renew someones contract before it is up? Or extend it?

Is there any way to avoid the CPU taking control of your player at the snap when on defense?

I want to enjoy playing defense, but the CPU always takes the first several steps for me no matter who I control.

I really wish the person you controlled could be under your control only from whistle to whistle.
