How come? For me it's these damn slants and crossing routes everyone wants to use. The lack of pass rush means guys can wait for those routes to cross in the middle of the field and one of them will always be wide open. You can slant, crash, shade, press, pass commit none of it makes a difference. Defense is just serverly lacking.

Besides the fact that online just feels like one giant troll

They really need to explain how to succeed on defense cause I am at the point now where I pick my play and set the controller down.

I guess Madden is only for the hardcores, which is why most people are stuck in divison 10 on mut

I hear ya. Incredibly frustrating trying to stop anybody. I either A) control the LB and just try and patrol the middle of the field, B) take a safety and try and time the snap and get a sack, or C) lay my controller down and hope for the best.

I never seem to get a stop online either. Teach me how to defense online...

It's hard bc defenders don't react and move properly to play good defense, especially zone. Defensive backs don't have true "open hips and go" animation.

Can someone explain individual shading. Does the player shade to their right or left or is it the right or left side of the field? IE Corner on right side of TV. He shades to right, which means inside or shade to right which means right side of screen and outside.

Does calling for D to play outside, underneath etc. Work as intended?

Direction of shade (left/right) is not relevant. Triangle + RS <> direction shades either INSIDE or OUTSIDE. I believe its RS < shades inside and RS > shades outside. So it doesn't matter where they are lined up on the field, you are telling them to either protect inside or outside release. So whether you tell both corners to shade inside or just one, both will move in respect to where they are to defend the WR from releasing inside.

You can tell your entire defense to shade by pressing 2 buttons.

Shading individual players (WR isolated on the backside of trips) takes 3 buttons.

Yes but online players know this, and will run routes or hurry up specifically so that you don't have time to have your defense set. For example, one super common route combination online is the TE flag route combined with the Slot WR slant. If you shade everyone inside, the flag is wide open. Shade every one out, and the slant is side open. So you've gotta do both of those individually each time you think it's coming.

What I've been begging for is a command to "lock" a hot route, like "always shade inside: and your player will keep doing that each play until you tell him otherwise.

Anyway, for my own question: How do you launch coachglass on the Windows 10 XBox app? There doesn't seem to be any way to launch the Madden companion there.

Specific question if anyone could answer. If my opponent is running all curls and I'm playing cover 2 what zone should I audible my corners to?

So im big into the 2k sim world and trying to get to that level in madden..so what sim settings are guys running these days? I was in the old os vets league on ps3..but skipped some yrs of madden and trying to get back into it..some background is i plan on running 12min or 10min Qts with no user catching and no ball in air switching on D..this will all be me against CPU..any help would be appreciated and hopefully madden sim can get to where we have in 2k here in OS

I don't know if you still can be I haven't been able to do it in this years version yet. Last year I went to look at the play art and on accident I was able to see just my players play art. I don't know how I did it and have never been able to do it again and google results elude me. If anyone could tell me how to do this. Also this is when playing defense of course.

Hold the left trigger before the play. I always do this so I can strafe as the LB as soon as the play starts.

For the life of me I cannot stop "inside zone running" from the gun formation. Can someone tell me what defense can stop this?

I had a guy online do nothing but shotgun inside runs on me. I countered later in the second quarter once I noticed it was a consistent call by running a 4-6 bear, shift defense towards strong side to fill gaps, with a pinch line adjustment. I called multiple plays from Cover 1 to blitzes but most were able to control the gaps to slow it down. Now just be prepared to get shredded if they pass.

I'd try
3-3-5 Odd cover 3, base align, and show blitz to get more in the box.
