Swagger, Im not 100% understanding your instructions and Im desperately trying to not have to buy another controller just to play the CPU lol. So i created a new PSN account and downloaded your playbooks from the community share. Went to play now and just switched profiles to set the playbook to play against NO. Game played great! They did not call the same play at all and had a balanced unpredictable attack. Problem is I don't know what you did to it, still has four verticals, what plays you added, how you changed the gameplan etc. so I don't know if it carried over into the game. Can you or anyone who has created a playbook try this method and see if it works as you know the plays you added.



Also i used 10 minute email to create the account so i won't get spammed. Just be sure to write down the fake email.

I do almost all of my testing in a CFM with these...week 1. Don't allow any of the games to finish so the confidence/drive goal bug doesn't warp stats too much.

But from what I recall these playbooks do work in play now as long as you don't try to use a custom PB for YOUR team. As far as I know, you can set it for the CPU, and then use a default playbook for yourself. It should work.

However, if you're planning on doing a CFM, you NEED 2 controllers. No way around it.

One way to know if you're using one of our playbooks is by checking out the CPU's last play call. Pay attention to 3rd and long situations. If you see verticals called the majority of the time, the CPU is not using a custom book. If you're seeing a variety, you are. Easiest way to tell.

I cannot get 2 custom playbooks to work in Play Now mode. You can assign it to one team and it sticks, but when you assign a second custom book to the other team, the first team will also be assigned that book. I believe you need 2 controllers for both Play Now and CFM mode to use custom books.

Or if you use the same book for both it works OK, which isn't much good for playing, but it's how I was doing my early tests when I just had the packers book, because I wanted to see how it would work with the strategy play calling.

When I saw that it worked like that I assumed it worked if you switched the team you play as, but it appears I was wrong. Sorry for the misinformation earlier in the thread.

By the way, the strategy calling doesn't use the stars very much if at all, and seems to be heavily based on community calls. It's weird because I'll see suggestions that I didn't even think were in my Packers book. Like other team's named plays.

With the news out that our CFM patch is coming tomorrow, I'm going to do my best to crank these playbooks out as quickly as I can.

I'm going to do in order:
The Falcons
The Eagles
The Cowboys

Then I might upload a few flexible Run N Gun, pass heavy, run heavy books we can apply to a variety of teams if needed.

I've tried to catch up on the thread, but it looked to me like you're editing the team specific playbooks...

In the past, you could use the generics WITHOUT having to edit them and got great run / pass splits and a more realistic gameplan for the CPU controlled team...

For example:

Instead of using the Team Specific book for SEA, you'd use "Run Heavy" when playing the CPU controlled Seahawks...

Just wondering if that's been tried and what the result was...

The process of creating a Custom Playbook needs to be streamlined and/or the list of plays needs to be tidied up.
When choosing plays to add to your playbook, there are way too many duplicate plays (i.e. 2 identical Zone Weak's or 2 identical pass plays or run plays that are identical but have different names in different offenses).
As a disclaimer, some of the duplicate plays I'm talking about may be different in very subtle ways, ways too subtle to show in the play art. Regardless, the devs should order the list of plays within each formation by play type, making sure to put any plays that are duplicates (or near-duplicates) directly above/below each other. This would make creating a playbook WAY less tedious. I can't count the times I've been 3/4 the way down the playlist, come to a HB Draw or Cover 3 Sky Press or (insert any other play here) and think, "Wait, did I already add the same play when I was at the top of this list, or was that in the last formation?"
Once I've done that for the 9th or 10th time, the game starts to resemble a tedious job.
Or the devs could just allow us to sort the plays by Play Type, like we can do when setting audibles. Either one of these things would do Custom Playbook-heads a huge service, and this request seems like a reasonable one, and one that I can't imagine being hard at all to fill.
I would've liked to have put this in a Suggestions/Wishlist thread, but it's either too early for that or I'm too dumb/blind to see it.

Quick question...

Has anyone found an offensive playbook that can be emptied for use when making a custom book. In M15 the west coast playbook could be emptied completely(after adding one of your own plays). However, it seems that does not work in M16. the west coast book appears to now have the hidden "play action" situation in it that you cannot assign a play to. If anyone has a solution, or knows of a playbook that can be emptied, that information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Bears and Bengals are up. I'll work on some more after I get back from my nephew's football game.

For the people who dont know what I'm doing with these playbooks, here is my process:

I'm removing every vert play from each teams playbook. The default playbooks rely WAY too much on Verts plays on 3rd and Long, 4th and Long and 2 min warning plays.

I'm replacing those plays with shotgun and singleback plays already in the playbook that are more appropriate for those downs.

I'm not rerating any plays and I'm not changing plays for the other situations. This is just a starting point.

Are these for PS4 or Xbox? If PS4 what is the file name to the bears playbook?

BadGuy and I are on PS4.

As for your Bears question...maybe.

I'm going to be doing the 7 day Game Rewind pass on Thursday morning so I can get a good solid weekend in with watching game tape while the wife is away at a conference.

If I get on a roll, I might get to Da Bears.

Has anyone tried uploading playbooks since the patch? I'm downloading patch now (taking forever). It's the 1st thing I'll try. Fingers crossed it was fixed!

On a side note great to know that using a 2nd controller and game crashing was patched! I thought it was a playbook issue the whole time but it was a EA issue. Good to know.

I still think the generics yield the quickest and easiest "fix" for this, so perhaps someone will take the initiative to match the current HC schemes to the appropriate generic...

A lot of the HC's just relocated (Fox / Ryan), so one could also match what their former team used to their current team...

I'd do it, but I'm traveling and don't have access to a console!

Well I still can't upload after the patch. I'm about to give up as its pointless for me if I can't share to download with my other profile as I can only have the CPU with the updated playbooks while I'm stuck with generic. Pretty frustrating. With nba2k coming out of return this thing if I wasn't an impatient idiot and downloaded digital copy! Ugh! Maybe I'll try later but for me it's pointless to go any further without ability to use the playbooks or share with you guys. Sorry!
