Nah man, I'm just a guy in his late 20's who is finally happy with a madden game that needs just a few...a tad few changes in a patch this year to ride off into the sunset. I'm not here for flame wars, forum wars or any other war. That's why I give no response to these. 10 years ago maybe, but not these days.

This is actually pretty unfair.
What we've fought for is an equal game that includes sim options for those of us who want it. The first thing we've always said is just give us options.
It's incredibly narrowminded and contradictory to all of a sudden do a complete 180 and tell others that just because we haven't gotten the game we've wanted for years those who've enjoyed it for different reasons over the years no longer can.
I'm kind of disappointed with some of the responses to him to be honest. As a site we've always asked for equality, not totality, yet people are thumbing their nose at him because he doesn't play the game the way we like to.
I don't at all agree with the way he wants to play the game at all but don't think it's fair to take away his right to want to play it the way he wants to.

Re: EA you guys made an AWESOME game. Please don't cave in to the complainers
I'm here to communicate with EA about some stadium errors and uniform errors that EA had in this years game. As well as communicate with MLB the show about stadium models and references. All In all I'm back here for a short amount of time to make sure EA hears my input and voice about a game I have played since childhood. This portion of this convo is petty in my opinion and I want nothing to do with it. I'm not a fan of mediocrity, for years I have played madden with gimmicks from ring creation to rocket throws and nano blitzing. I can honestly say that if the minority is now those folks who don't wish to pick up a controller and play sophisticated simulated football that just needs a few tweaks with this patch then I don't care. Been in this forum for years and seen progression of this game. I am glad and I have told them this in the past days and week that this gameplay is amazing. The less I see someone using exploits(which comes from bogus arcade gimmicks) and the more I see an opponent who uses wits keen senses and strategy to win, I go to sleep a happy gamer. But like I said, I'm here to communicate with EA in order to have what I saw as a major error in this game to be fixed. Once it's patched I'm out and on the game. lol, I don't care to go into "we need arcade and stuff" It isn't 2k. And yes NBA 2k has those options. This company doesn't if you wish to and have serious convictions about this with a passion. Call EA, use twitter and talk to them directly. Banter like this where people brag about how long they've played a game makes zero sense and solves nothing. Just some food for thought.Last edited by mastershake88; 09-03-2015, 11:59 PM.Champions of Baltimore

Re: EA you guys made an AWESOME game. Please don't cave in to the complainers
I love how I am reading about how the "sim players" are a "loud minority", and they are focusing on the "arcade players" because they are the majority....
My question is, what does that have to do with anything? The have different teams working on different aspects of the game. Why can't we tailor the game to both groups? I mean every other sports game does....
The feelings towards Madden are simple:
Arcade Users=
Sim Users=
All us sim users want is a deeper franchise mode, where we are allowed to have our own league, control the minor details, make things as realistic as possible, but we can't because for some reason we are not trusted with that kind of control. Until control is given back to the CFM users of the world, sim users are going to be disapointed with madden.
It is just disheartening when every other sporting franchise outside EA is extremely sim friendly, and yet we have to sit here and wait year after year after year for simple features to be re-implemented into Madden.Comment

Show me where a league out there plays like this, this is an NFL product first and foremost. The competition they killed as if they still exisited we wouldnt be having this debate, you would be able to play madden as you see fit.Comment

I think that guy is absolutely right in saying why not both sim and arcade modes for madden gameplay. Isn't that what sliders are for? As much as I hate the unrealistic CFM and unrealistic gameplay, I have to stick up for that guy. Why do we have that mentality that if we get what we want, then the "***** with the others"? It's just silly.
EDIT: I see Kehlis was all over this.Last edited by bucky60; 09-04-2015, 08:53 AM.Comment

There is no such style of play that exist so why make up something in game and call it a style to be catered to?

I just don't understand this mentality at all. As much as I hate the arcade CFM that we have, I'm still understanding towards those that do like it. We should tell a casual gamer "tough ****" after just going through the pain of how many years of unrealistic gameplay? While we complained that whole time.

So you guys can sit back and flick coins in the wishing well that a "play style selector" manifest itself. I'm going to sit here and expect them to get the core game working and while I'm sitting here no I won't feel bad for the lack of options.............ITS ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY......I didn't expect anyone to feel bad for me when it was a arcade fest. I "hoped" EA devs would see the light and go the direction of realism, so I guess my wishing well worked
Edit: Maybe I do sound a bit vindictive BUT I'm sorry, after years and years most of us here fighting for a more realistic football game. I truthfully don't feel a least bit sorry that I say "Sucks doesn't it, hope it doesn't take you 15 more years to get the game you want". At the end of the day in a perfect world, we would have options to design the gameplay to suit everyone's taste. That does not exist and ONE single year of it hinging a little more to the realism side does not suddenly make me feel bad for that "style" of gamers. I hope they get what they want, but I'm going to enjoy what I've somewhat fought for gameplay wise for 15 plus years. All I can do is tip my hat and say, "I hope you don't have to wait as long as we have had to Bucky".Last edited by Phobia; 09-04-2015, 09:20 AM.Comment

Re: EA you guys made an AWESOME game. Please don't cave in to the complainers
I live in a world of realistic expectations. Madden has NEVER had options, it has also NEVER got any style of play to work as "intended". So before we go jumping the gun of "**** the others", how about we get one style working as intended. Hell us "sim" players don't even have the game we want and "casual" players don't either. None of us have options, yet I'm just saying its UNREALISTIC to expect them to suddenly supply options to satisfy everyone. How about they stick to making the game tuned to ONE playstyle.

Sorry, but I think a "realistic expectation" SHOULD be options.
I see you have added that edit at the end. I'm mid 50's. I've waited as long as anyone for a sim NFL football game. Didn't have a console back then so I never tried NFL2K. The last real sim FB game I can remember (or as close to sim as possible) was Sierra's Front Page Sports. I've already waited as long or longer than you for a sim football video game and I am still waiting with that ARCADE CFM we have. That doesn't make me lose compassion for others. That waiting makes me sympathize with others.Last edited by bucky60; 09-04-2015, 09:23 AM.Comment

Re: EA you guys made an AWESOME game. Please don't cave in to the complainers
Then by your own somewhat obsurd logic of only one play style being the "realistic expectation", there are more casual gamers than sim gamers, you have no right to complain about casual gameplay. So your "realistic expectations" would be us NOT having a sim style football video game and only a casual football video game.
Sorry, but I think a "realistic expectation" SHOULD be options.
I'm lost where you are getting your "realistic expectation" on casual and sim players. My stance stands for both, if they intend to get a casual playing madden then by all means go 100% and get it working perfectly. If they go a sim route, then do the same. I'm unbiased in that regard, but I don't believe muddying the "play style" waters is the right route yet, no I don't.Last edited by Phobia; 09-04-2015, 09:27 AM.Comment

Re: EA you guys made an AWESOME game. Please don't cave in to the complainers
You completely lost me honestly. What I meant by "realistic expectations" was only one style of play should be perfected before they try and bring others in the mix which could downgrade all possible modes of play.

That other guy is only asking for options to tailor play style. While EA/Tib is "perfecting" a sim style, why be against options for tailoring the game during the process? Since you are saying you are OK with the end product being both sim and casual? How is perfecting sim while providing options for casual "muddying" the play style?
All that guy is asking for is options. Heck, that's all I've been asking of Madden since Sierra Front Page Sports died and I'm still asking Madden for an optional, realistic CFM/Franchise mode. And while I keep asking for a realistic (instead of such an arcade) CFM, I never demand the XP/Goals, etc be removed, because I understand that a lot of others like it. I just ask for realism options.Last edited by bucky60; 09-04-2015, 09:41 AM.Comment
