Has anybody seen a major issue with the xp able to be earned? I mean some of the career and season milestones are a joke. I may be able to upgrade like one meaningless stat, for setting multiple nfl records

There is a whole thread about this issue. And they made it much more realistic because not every player is like OBJ who goes from a 73 to a 90+ player in one season. Most go from around to 73-74 to a low 80 to a middle 80 then probably a 90 if they keep up their ability and improve.

At the very least, they need to tune down the aggressive catches slightly, like you said already. Anyone pretending that they are fine are not online MUT/Draft players. No, playing the ball and double teams do not stop people from cheesing it and succeeding well above expectation.

Also if they can do something about the pause glitch and the defensive linemen repeatedly going offsides before the o-line even sets up.

Everything else, gameplay wise, can wait until the community has gotten more time to test the game.

Yes if the no name WR is covered by a no name CB. Even the 'worst' NFL receiver is capable of a special play on occasion or e even having a career day . It's just that guys like Julio or CJ do it on a regular basis that makes them special. Remember most of ur no names were stars in college

They took a nice amazing catch that was the OBJ catch and now have made it almost a joke. When a no name WR is going against a Revis, they should not be making these catches almost every time the ball is thrown.

EA can tune MUT and DC all you want!
Just please, please do not mess w/ CFM gameplay/sliders! I know the bugs need to be fixed w/ regression and player boost/drive goals, but please don't mess up what all the work we've done as far as sliders and gameplay for CFM go.

I'm NOT the only one that feels this way

First off Im not ur son and Ive been playing Madden since 92. Ive been with Madden through every single phase. The people complaining this year about Madden are an EXTREME minority at this point. Nothing wrong with praising them but all this talk about "caving to haters" or whatever is stupid and nobody is even on that this year. Like I said, log off and go enjoy the game kid.

Game play wise the only thing I want tuned this year is cpu controlled defensive ends not getting any pressure on the Qb and offensive line logic (too many missed blocks, bad decision making like linemen go of double teams for no reason).

I agree. On the field gameplay is finnally playable for me. There are still MANY things that can be improved in this area though. Route Based Passing Mechanics, Dynamic Ball Physics,True-Step for all players on the field, Gap-Assignments, Match-coverage, Defensive Assignments, and I could go on forever...


This game has restored my faith in Madden's future despite all of those things I mentioned however.

A simple fix would be to have ratings dictate a certain set of animations that can trigger for each position. The NBA 2K signature animation model seems to work wonders for them. If OBJ was the only WR to be able to pull off that catch (also allow CAP to because people would complain about not being able to) that would be perfectly fine with me.

A system of animation differentiation between elite/average WR's would go a long ways.

I've been very critical of EA because of CCM but I admit the gameplay is excellent and the best we've seen since 05. No complains to be honest, maybe more stiff arms...

this needs to stay on top of this website! people are complaining and hating all in the same direction, this game plays really good, this is your deciding factor EA, you can cave in to demands or make a stand. but i question this? most devs and please correct me if i'm wrong? didn't you get into this market because of creation and change ? of course the money is a plus, but the dream is my point. the dream of creating and directing something of your own and molding it into an amazing piece of art one day ? well your here and i mean close, sure there's some issues but there really small in comparison to the past.

Ea, Rex and his team, all the game changer's included have made strides to make this game better, even though i did not post in the NBA live thread, (yet) i can see great improvements, glitz and glamour is cool, but at the end of the day game-play is what stands the test of time!

Play the game, dont let the game play you.

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. This game as it is right now is awesome. This is BY FAR the best football game i have ever played. I can finally put to rest 2k5 as the greatest.

The most important position in football and arguably ALL of sports is the QB position and to have the clear separation of skills that we are seeing now is paramount to a great football game.

Last night i was playing using the cowboys against the 49ers. Romo was torching the niners i had a 27-17 lead tomo was 20/26 289 yards 2 td 0 int...he was balling. 10 mins left in the 4th quarter he got hurt and comes in the backup. 3 straight incompletions and interception deep in my territory. The difference was huge. I tried to use quick passes and the run but i couldnt even get a first down with the backup.

I lost the game 31-27. Backup finished 2/10 18 yards 1 int.

This is how a football game that respects player ratings should behave.

Those be linebackers doing that too, i dunno why that animation exist in the game like it does after the huddle. It makes no sense and is a drive killer.

Slot WRs are killing me with aggressive catch, my defenders dont react at all and sometimes it seems they are not aware of the wr being there when the a
Ball is thrown. Since i am seeing thjs exact type of gameplay online alot, that tells me something is off as its abused a lot in the same spot on the field (right slot between the hash toward sideline)
