IdleRace that looks like a pretty good draft...

Guys, we had a long discussion about position changes, how do you guys feel about taking a CB with 97 Spd and switching him to a safety?

Its your team so play how you wan. SOme people dont like it but im all for it. They make those moves in real life. Ive moved a couple over to safety so Im all for it. Its usually a guy that while scouting the draft doesnt have what im looking for my corners but has the zone coverage and high enough tackling to do the job.

Since im not playing by myself and theres tough competition in my league i try to exhaust all possibilities when im building my team but the main reason why i am considering that move is because i have the JETS and all the users in my league have excellent deep threats and passing attacks so Calvin Pryor is neutralized every game, i want to put him in the box since i plan on resigning ALL of the DLine (wilkerson/already signed, Richardson, Harrison, Williams)

I'd love to have two stupid fast safeties to cover sideline to sideline though

That makes sense then. I would go ahead and move him then. Also mix up your coverages between man, man under ( which is man on the corners with a cover 1 or 2 over top) also i like to use a little bit of inverted cover 2. Your safties and corners switch roles in that. See what routes they are using to beat you and that will tell you what defense will work best to stop them. Im an okay madden player but a better real life high school football coach lol.

I drafted a running back in the second round today, 6'0 235 lbs with 90 speed, he has an overall of 85. with my first round pick i drafted a WR 6'4 with 97 speed. I just started my Texans CFM and simmed the first season.

I just saw the news about the heisman trophy winner, is this a sign as to how talented he is or is it nothing more than a notification that he is a superstar trait?

6'1 200lb speed WR, what do you guys expect his speed to be?

I don't expect much anymore. My last Heisman winning WR was actually a CB, even tho it clearly said WR. He wasn't bad but was nothing spectacular.

I feel like the draft stories often don't line up at all. There was a safety who had "the best 3 cone at the combine", only he was actually like 10th place for safeties, let alone the entire class.

I'm pretty close to just ignoring the draft stories. :/

How much does acceleration and agility matter? In my latest draft there are 2 6'4" WRs with 95 and 94 speed but their acc and agi are mid 80s. Then on the flipside of this there are 2 RBs with 87 and 86 speed but their acc and agi are 93/90 and 95/91.

Pure speed receivers tend to not have great catching attributes. I would be sure to scout his traits and pay attention to his combine stats.

Also keep in mind that spectacular catch is the hardest receiver skill to increase

Personally, I prefer red zone threats. They usually have pretty good catching ratings and having low acceleration does seem to make a huge difference on the outside. To me, it's most noticeable on double moves (that don't work anyway) and comeback routes.

I have a RZT with 97 speed and 89 agi but 83 acc. Guys a beast. Except on the aforementioned comeback routes lol

As for the RBs, you'll probably never have a break away run with those guys. My cutoff for RBs is 89 speed, I think that's around a 4.52 40 in the combine stats.

Good to know, thank you. Also the 2 6'4" guys are RZTs with mid 80s Spectacular Catch, so I'm gonna target them. I wanted my cut off to be 90 on the RBs when it came to speed but the draft literally only has 3, so absurd.

CB Antuan Duncan Think He Is 6-1 or 6-2 Comes In Around 79-80 Overall But He Develops Real Quick and is a stud in Game. He Got 10 Interceptions his Rookie season I played all the games. Next Season He Was a 84 Overall.

My last 2 first round picks. Traded up for both so they were both pretty much my whole draft but I think they were worth it.

Might get some hate for saying this but that guy has the size to move to HB too! Basically a bigger Jamal Charles that breaks the game from the backfield. Just needs his Pass Block and Carrying upgrading.
