I've also had my ps4 crash a bunch. To the point where I cannot even play. I don't know what the problem is honestly.

Ps4 is doing the same to me. I was messing around last night and did the coach thing but the game froze on me. Then, I retired the coach and picked the 3rd string qb and the formation subs stuck. Gonna try again tonight and see if it will work again.

I thin kthe 3rd string QB is the best way to go. Actually, I sign a 4th QB to each team and assign the 4th stringer. the sim stats for cpu simmed games are good enough to not mess with auto-subs/formation subs for the cpu - imo.

PLAYING ON XBOX ONE: getting more and more frustrated. Created a 2nd profile, used 2nd controller and was finally able to change the CPU playbooks to custom ones I had downloaded...both via vannwolfhawk206. Moved controller back to middle, started game hoping to get me vs CPU play. At kickoff, no players for opponent on field, and game froze upon play call screen. Restarted Xbox. 2nd try, same sequence and this time Super Simmed kickoff. Game froze again.

This is what I've done leading up to this point: started offline CFM, chose coach, and ran a fantasy draft as raiders. At first I started another character as the 3rd string SS because for some reason my opponent only had 1 QB on the roster. Also tried new character as Sean Payton...nothing really changed.

I did play one game using the default "run n gun" playbook for the CPU (saints) and it was fantastic even though it was 80/20 pass/run. I also tried a few game using 'pass balanced' playbook for CPU but soon realized a lot of the same plays being ran. I've read just about every post about how to get the downloaded playbooks to be used but I just can seem to get it figured out. I'll try again later tonight using the dummy profile and moving the controller over to change the playbook but I'm afraid it will just freeze again. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I wish they would fix the fact that when you make a defensive pb, it seems that all the plays have to be the same in:

*bunch defense

*overload defense

and

*empty defense.

So it seems like ps4 users (including myself) are having a major crashing issue with this. Wonder what the fix is.

Follow the PS4 instructions I typed up in the OP...I've yet to have the game crash on me.

I use the third string QB workaround and its been fine for me. He never sees the field so the CPU does all the work. The only thing is making sure your other profile has access to the playbooks. I just upload mine to Madden Share and DL it on my other profile.

On the game screen goto the cpu advanced settings and set the playbook. Then back out of the game screen completely back to franchise screen. Re-enter the game screen and this time DO NOT goto advanced settings for either team (the cpu playbook will still stick.) Then start the game and it should work. For some reason, going into the advanced settings on the game screen crashes the game...no idea why.

I found this method on another thread here I believe it was Dskins. Credit goes to him. Thanks so much!

Yes but make sure you get rid of cover 0 blitzes unless in goaline...

are there any suggestions on what I should take out of the offensive playbooks and how do I delete plays from the playbook

So I am wondering in Madden 16 did you guys see improvements to the cpu game planning logic? I am considering using the player work around now that I got it to work last night but really hoping EA fixes these issues.

I just don't see EA fixing this issue. Their CPU designed playbooks are horrendous and its been that way for years. When you look through them you can easily see that they either put zero effort into them or the person working on them knows nothing about the individual teams. There is really no reason they couldn't take a bit more time and create proper playbooks.

Without knowing their specific algorithm for using their star system I was able to go in and make adjustments over 4 days to all the offensive playbooks using just some basic logic that make the CPU play infinitely better. It just seems like they don't care enough to put even a small amount of time into creating proper playbooks. The plays are there and the rating system works well enough that I think that if I really sat down I could make a team play almost exactly how they play in real life.

For a team like EA has on this game to have not done that tells me that it is either a design decision or they put absolutely zero value in playbook creation.

So theres no way to just set all the teams to plain ole PBs?

EDIT: OR can I just go into each specific team playbook, change all the stars to like 0 or 1/2 or whatever and then the CPU will use that?
