I guess I'm just not up on the cool kids think. Because I don't see any of this in my twitter feed or forums I frequent, outside of OS. Of course, they don't make an eye roll gif hardcore enough for me to use when someone tells me "on Reddit," as though that should carry some weight on any topic.

It may be hard to believe but just because you don't see it or aren't aware of it, doesn't mean the topic ceases to exist elsewhere. The internet is a big place.

And, I don't know, maybe it's that I'm used to it or maybe it's that I personally don't care but I don't think it's even close to bad here. And I don't think it's even in the same realm of how bad it's been in recent years. The year they introduced the Infinity Engine and CCM and there was basically no info until E3, which was really unusual at that time, there was tons of thread spam asking where info was and asking what they were hiding. Same thing when they stopped allowing footage to be recorded on the floor a few years back. People would get banned left and right. Hence, That Time of Year Again! And I mean, there's one thread on the front page about it, asking if it's concerning. There's been plenty of good discussion and there hasn't even been anyone in the entire thread that has been banned so that also tells me that it's not even close to being bad. Don't worry, it'll all be over soon. Approximately late next week I'm told.

I wasn't trying to say it doesn't exist. I'm saying the internet is a big place. You tend to find what you are looking for. But that doesn't mean its representative of anything.

Actually, it's been a good discussion all around, we've even had a Developer drop by out of the sky.(sage, music please lol)

Less and less developers are dropping by any forums these days due to the negativity surrounding whatever product it is that they are working on. Doesnt just have to be Madden / 2k / Sony etc.

Some of the negativity is warranted, most is not. Devs are humans too, and sometimes people forget that. Some things are in their control, most things arent. We have had some dedicated people pour in countless 70+ hour weeks and worked on projects at home and while on vacation.

Then they go to "insert forum of game of choice", and read all the negativity, and it hits home hard. Sometimes its just good to get away for a bit.

And that is the bottom line. This is what our society has become, jealousy and entitlement.

Is this really about "entitlement". Does complaining about lack of any CFM development make me guilty of "entitlement"? Does complaining about lack of realism make me guilty of entitlement? I don't think anyone who's bought Madden for as long as I have is guilty of entitlement given some of what's been served up over years. Ironically you only need to read some of what Rex has posted on Twitter to know that he's as frustrated as anyone by the marketing of the game this year.

Caring about the game deeply enough to provide feedback and dare I say, criticism, is precisely what developers want. Its not a negative regardless of whether it's spun to imply somebody doesn't have a life. There's a point where it can get out of hand but I've not seen anything here that has.

I get a real kick out of the people who continually puff out their chests and declare "It doesn't bother me one little bit"...I liken it to a child telling everyone they wear big boy underwear now...hilarious.
I thought this is a forum for people ON BOTH SIDES of opinion to be able to discuss their thoughts and feelings about something they're clearly passionate about...Madden.
I haven't seen much of what I would consider childish or whining regarding the lack of videos.
I'd say just the opposite...more whining and complaining from those who apparently are "all grown up" and have "more important things to worry about" than the very subject of these forums. Crazy

You are free to complain about the game or marketing. I'm free to say how silly I think it is for you to complain when u will have plenty of information to make ur purchase decision before release. I'm free to say that it's silly to hear people act like they are being "disrespected" and then run out and buy the game in 2 weeks. I'm also free to say that people here think that complaints here or on twitter about marketing have any significant effect on EA are fooling themselves.

You're absolutely correct. Everyone is free to express a difference in opinion. The problem comes in when someone makes it 'personal' instead of general; name calling, being condescending, or generalizing a whole group of people as 'what's wrong with the OS community'. The vast majority of people here are adults. You're not going to have a chance of being taken seriously if you start calling them childish, entitled, or 'get a life', etc. There are people here who obsess over things I can't begin to understand, but the fact is they ARE 'entitled' to feel that way and discuss what they are passionate about. This is a public forum, not a private one. People that want to only hear their own view points need to start their own private blog.

Agree. But I'm not talking about singular comments like "EA sucks, where's my **** gameplay videos". That's the comments that open yourself up to ridicule. What I'm referring to is people who present their view in a logical manner. And if you are going to label someone, you should provide or be prepared to state logical reasons why. Otherwise, the comment is no better than the one above.

I actually already backtracked a bit on that and said it came over a bit harsh. However, the point remains there is something called perspective. As for laughing at someone, I said it was comical, didn't say I was laughing. It doesn't quite reach the level of laughter, merely amusement..
