I dont mind QBs taking on a sacks on a dead play. I'd like to see QBs fall to the ground or brace for the hit when they've given up... Protect himself maybe..

The way it is now is awful .. no movement just standing there unaware, inviting big hits, Injuries & fumbles..

Unfortunately instead of fixing the problem they'll probably do a rush job and just have the QBs throw the ball away at the slightest sign of pressure..

This is what I'm afraid of. I hope they don't overdo it in a patch so QB's just throw the ball away at the littlest bit of pressure.

As a community, we shouldn't be accepting a lot of things with madden.

But we do, because there is no other football game, and our voices are played on deaf ears.

Re: As a community we cannot accept the current CPU QB play.

The worse part is that they looked at the way it was in 17 and decided that the issue wasn't worthy of the resources necessary to fix it for 18. If only there were a couple of YouTubers with a few hundred thousand plus subscribers whose primary focus was User vs CPU CFM play who could complain about it.

In 2017, it isn't enough that the sack number might still be within the range of statistical norms. This is either a bug or a crappy design decision, either way they're 100% in the wrong for considering this a low priority issue.

Also, I concur that going back to the instantaneous throwaways from last year would be an unacceptable FU band-aid fix.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

It falls on deaf ears because this community buys the game EVERY YEAR no matter what.

I buy the game because while it isnt perfect, Its solid enough to deserve my $60 each year. The year it wasnt, the first year of CFM, I didnt buy it.

If one year this community took a stand and said "We arent buying the game", I promise you they would take notice. Their sales wouldnt drop significantly but I promise you, EA would take notice and would put some of its focus on getting this community back.

I'm a huge UFC fan and there is only one MMA game for purchase. If that game spent version after version ignoring the additions that offline gamers want, I would quit being a gamechanger and never buy the game.

Its that simple. Dont buy the game or buy it used a week from now if things like the QB AI and Zone coverage issues are big enough deals. No one is forcing you to buy the game on release day. No one.

Well said, I know it's the only NFL game available but if we want to ever see the changes that we want, we're going to have to sacrifice being able to play an NFL game for a year or else EA has no incentive to listen to us

Re: As a community we cannot accept the current CPU QB play.

So let's pretend that all of the "Madden CFM'ers" all came together and decided to not buy the game.

They're probably what...300 dedicated Madden CFM'ers that regularly come on this site?

So 300 people not buying the game would be enough for EA to start giving us the CFM that we want? Heck even if it was 400 people.

Aren't there millions of people that buy Madden every year? What's 400 people less?

                    *Just saying...*

In the past I have suggested similar measures and had my threads shut down etc.

Not to mention I know those EA guys are on this board and read these threads, heck you see them commenting in threads praising the game, but a thread like this? They won't go anywhere near it.

EDIT: That was not a shot at the mods, just making the point that making downright negative threads saying "Don't buy the game" will get you nowhere.

I wasn't talking about the CFM'ers on the board specifically. I just mean that if everyone who is unhappy with where CFM is, or any other aspect of the game for that matter, if they would hold off on purchasing it for one year instead of buying it because you like football and you're at the mercy of EA if you want to play a football game, maybe there is a chance we'll make an impact

Yep, there's some things that are concerning me too...Qb ai being one of them. The overall defense i've been seeing in nearly all the gameplay vids is another. I'm just glad that are concerns can possibly be corrected with the different game styles. Imo, sim mode at least gives us hope that the issues we see can be fixed without the arcade and competitive crowds weighing in.

I dont know the numbers for Madden but I think offline gamers underestimate themselves. For example, you go into the UFC forums and the majority of people posting there are online players but in reality the majority of people who actually play the game are offline gamers. The data shows that. I would be shocked if it wasnt similar for Madden. There are more than 400 people here who are annoyed by the gameplay and CFM issues each year. If it was only 400 people, the devs wouldnt give you guys the small bones they do each year.

In my opinion, its lame as hell to just complain and never do anything. I'm a CFM gamer but I'm different than most. I dont care about half of the things that people here complain about because I typically play a season alongside the real NFL season. Once they put back 32 team control and formation subs, I was good to play the game as I have for the past 20 plus years. But most of yall arent like me. You dont want...you need more.

My point is QB AI has been an issue for years. Pass coverage has been an issue for years. There are legacy issues like Fatigue in CFM that have been issues for years. I promise you if you used the search function you could find threads about those issues EVERY YEAR. So complain here or on Twitter aint working.

So you dont have enough willpower to go without a football game even though EA isnt doing anything to keep you....you have to buy a new football game each year, right?

                            Buy it used.

Gamestop will have a copy or two within days. They always do. That way you get your football fix, EA doesnt get a dime of your money and even if its a small dent, you have taken the type of stand that game companies care about....a financial one. You cant wait a week?

No I hear ya. You make good points but people want the game from day one. It's honestly too bad that NBA 2k and NBA Live aren't released closer to Madden's release date. There are many Madden CFM'ers that also play basketball games because of franchise modes so I believe if release dates were closer, people might hold off buying Madden or atleast bought it used.

I just dont get it at all. Its a week. The best way to speak to EA is through your wallet. The reason this community doesnt get the attention they should is because they know you guys will buy the game no matter what.
