Two questions:

1) Can we assign custom playbooks to the CPU using the two controller method / 3rd string QB as was possible in previous Maddens?

2) Did anyone take note of which Team Default books have the most fleshed out gameplans, that lead to realistic run / pass splits and situational playcalling?

If the were at least a few / handful of decent Team Default books, they could be used as "generics" to assign to teams that run similar offences, etc.

I haven't gone through all the books King, but Baltimore-Dallas-Carolina appear to have well fleshed out gameplans. You could simply select the playbook that best suits you and put in your own. You don't have to build a custom playbook. Good luck.

Yes workaround still works. And if anyone cares or wants to try I have done 10 cpu playbooks...

I also did a 3-4 and 4-3 defensive playbook for cpu. Eliminated zero blitzes and put proper formations in the right alignments to eliminate taking advantage of cpu through audibles with formations like dollar. Only use dollar in empty sets now, etc.

It’s been a blast on both sides playing vs cpu and almost like playing against a human. No clue what’s coming from them next on either side of the ball.

I might do a few more teams like maybe the Vikings and 49ers but other then that I’ll just use one of the playbooks I’ve already done that firs one of the other 22 teams I havnt done...

Cant wait to try yours how will I find them. (I got the panthers next in my cfm so I will try those first).

I have a couple if anyone wants to look at them or try them. See if I rated them right or wrong. I like my offenses better than my defense but I upload a few last night. I get a bit confused on defense with which formations should be used for some of the multiple WR sets so any tips are welcome so I have not messed around too much with those situations. And I added some base formation plays for goalline and added all the goalline plays as well.

I edited the Patriots defense to have them play both 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. Should be named multifront

The offense named Patriot and multizonerun are sort of the same but rated plays diiferant. Both based off of the Patriots playbook.

One of my offenses when I played against it was kind of heavily towards the run , (IIRC it is the westcoast pwr run or the vert power run playbook). So I may need to adjust that one.


They are under gamertag “The 4th Phase54” if anyone wants to try them out.

Dude , I just played against the panthers with your panther playbook ...that was a super fun game.

Cam ended with 99 rush yards on 10 carries, I was able to contain him late in the game to squeak out the win. But yeah it was pretty fun playing against a completely unknown playbook/gameplan.

1st drive they ran an option , Cam kept it and broke away for 55 yards and a TD.

The defenses didnt show up in madden share, but I have all of your offenses. I just ended up using my multiple front defense. And the Panthers top 5 ranked defense was fierce against my Broncos (2nd season)

Dude , I just played against the panthers with your panther playbook ...that was a super fun game.

Glad they worked for you. Search my gamer tag Vannwolfhawk206. The defense should be there. I have 3 up, 4-3, 3-4, and hybrid. Hybrid not finished as I need to tweak the trips, empty, and add some formations still but the 3-4 and 4-3 are good to go. Those are more of a game changer than the offense really. Filled with zone blitzes to keep you on your toes.

I’m always updating playbooks as I play versus them if I see a play that might not fit or work in a situation that I might have missed. Try playing versus the Chiefs, pats, Saints, and ravens. Those are my favorite playbooks so far. Pats you will see a lot of crossing routes, zigs, etc. Chiefs will attack you deep on early downs, Ravens in pistol, and saints you will see Kamara hVe a To. Of great routes to get him more involved. The one thing I also like to do is incorporate routes that make anyone who uses the mlb hard to use. I use mlb so I like to get tricked by double drags followed by a deep in or cross. Things like that.

I recently put some 4 verts (the better 4 verts plays with options and a drag attached to them) in early downs to counter people calling cover 3 as well. Still seeing how the cpu calls those on early downs. But so far I am liking the results for teams who will take those shots like the Chiefs.

On defense what formations should I use and or stay away from for the differant multiple WR sets ? Thats where I have trouble deciding what to add into a defensive gameplan.

I have a huge offensive playbbok that is maxed out with every play being used in at least one situation or audible. If i run the same plays over and over i get bored. I rate 3 plays 5 stars, 3 plays 4.5, threee plays 4 and on down to 3 plays 1 star. Any other plays in a situation are rated half star. Then i go into my gameplan every game and pick a couple of situations to mix it up. I add a half star to every play. The five star plays go to half star, the 4.5 star plays to 5 star on down the line until i get to half star plays. I boost the top 3 of those to one star. This keeps my play calling in rotation and keeps it fresh for me. I would game plan each game if i had the time but work and kids keep me from that.

I am going to consider your above example, in combination with the way I would like to see the "gameplan star system" work for the user and offer up a suggestion to EA, if I am fortunate enough to have a chance to play the BETA version again next year. Of course, no guarantee they will see it.

This would usually work well regarding the plays rotating as we have now. However, back in Madden 12 when the plays actually stacked according to the star rating, I set my plan up just as I showed in my PDF. That way, I could find my runs, base passes, pa, shot and 11 personnel plays extremely quickly. It also forced me to remain balanced throughout my plan. I liked having the ability to have my plays come up in order.

At least they made major improvements to this feature this year. It doesn't take that much time to click a few times to find the play I want, especially since we have separate Run/Pass windows. It sure beats calling by formation for me. Often times, I've found myself selecting a play from the first 3 playcall window as you do.
